04:59Thank you so much for joining.
05:00Please go ahead and share this video.
05:02Share this video with anybody that you feel might could benefit from what we got going on here tonight.
05:09Now, we are dealing with some outside forces, dealing with some landscaping type of issues going on.
05:18So hopefully, it doesn't affect the show, but we're going to rock and do what we can do.
05:26And if you hear some noises, then we're dealing with some landscaping issues that are going on around this atmosphere.
05:35So here we go, episode 32, underpaid and over it, Dis 5 Restoration, the 4-1-1 podcast.
05:45Welcome to Financial Fridays.
05:46This is part of the mentorship series.
05:48I want to pause and speak about this mentorship series.
05:52So I have six nights, Spiritual Sunday, Mental Monday, Transformational Tuesday, Wind Down Wednesday, Coaching Sessions Thursday, Wednesday,
06:05We are here right now for Financial Friday.
06:09If you are interested, if you'd like to have a seat at the table, if you want to go through these assignments,
06:16if you'd like to go through these scenarios with me live here on the show, please DM me, text me, 609-210-98.
06:25You can also email me at info at laryngaines.com, and I will give you all of the information that you need in order to get you here, a seat at the table, up front, and personal, right with me here,
06:40dissecting these scenarios, going through it piece by piece here, night after night.
06:46Reach out to me, holler at your boy, and maybe you'll have a seat at this table here.
06:51I want to give a special thank you to author Birdman313.
06:58He went through it with me on Wind Down Wednesday.
07:01We had a good show, and to sum it up in a couple words, it was nothing other than, and this is his words, mind twisting.
07:10So, with these assignments, with these scenarios that we have coming through here, these are real-life situations that we deal with on a day-to-day basis.
07:18You never know what's going to happen.
07:20You never know who's going to write in, who's going to chime in, what the scenario is like.
07:27But again, one thing that I do know is that I've been there before.
07:32Some of my guests have been there before.
07:37People in the comments, they let me know that they've been there before.
07:40So, this is real-life situations here that we're giving our opinion.
07:45I'm not here to give any type of advice.
07:48That's not what I do.
07:51Just giving my opinion, putting my two cents in the scenarios, putting my two cents in the situations, and seeing what we can come up with.
07:59With that, we helped out Miss Renee from Atlanta, Georgia.
08:07She started listening to the new version of the 4-in-1 podcast and reading Between the Wines, and that got her to start thinking.
08:14She decided to open up and admit that she has been in a three-year relationship with somebody, and she thought she was going to marry him.
08:23But after the first year, he lost his job.
08:25So, with him for three years after the first year, he lost his job.
08:30So, I want you to do the math.
08:32And with that, she was covering rent, groceries, paying his car note, paying for dates, clothes.
08:39And she even gave him some money to help with a business venture that never even came to happen.
08:45So, with that $22,000 worth of debt, questioning herself, trying to buy love, credit card debt, late rent, a lot of stuff was going on there.
08:57So, if you want to find out what our opinions were, what our insight was for Miss Renee from Atlanta, Georgia, go ahead and watch that replay.
09:09The replays are available on YouTube.
09:12You can also get them on Facebook, X, DLive, Twitch, Dailymotion.
09:23Clips of the show are posted on specific platforms as well.
09:28And you can also get the audio version, which is on most major podcast outlets.
09:33To name a few, Spotify, iHeartRadio, PocketCast, Amazon Music.
09:42Everything is at Laring Gaines as well.
09:44So, if you'd like to support and check it out that way, I definitely would appreciate that.
09:50Now, let's get into this song of the day here.
09:52This is an interesting one.
09:54Song of the day, Masterpiece Mona Lisa by Jasmine Sullivan, released in 2015 off of the Reality Show album.
10:00Thank you so much for joining.
10:03Please do me a favor and please share this video.
10:05Let's bring some more people into this atmosphere.
10:08Trust me, you're going to enjoy what we have going on here tonight.
10:13Jasmine Sullivan, Masterpiece Mona Lisa, released in 2015 off of her album Reality Show.
10:20It has been a minute since I paid attention to this album.
10:24And for some reason, I don't really remember this record.
10:27But I went back and listened to it to get the notes for the show here.
10:32And I like it.
10:35And what it reminds me of is when I didn't know who I was.
10:39It reminds me back in 2019, 2020, when I came across the Clark Sisters album, The Return.
10:50And their lead single was Masterpiece.
10:54I always heard, you know, I'm a masterpiece, I'm a piece.
10:58But I really didn't understand it until around 2020.
11:02And people who are looking for someone else to give them the answers, people who are looking for a job to give them the answer,
11:10people who are looking in a relationship to give them the answers,
11:14they may not understand and they may not know that they are a masterpiece.
11:18I know I didn't.
11:19And it took me a while to figure it out.
11:22And once I figured it out and I understood and I understand and I overstand that I'm a masterpiece and there's only one me.
11:30And no longer am I concerned about what somebody else has, what someone else is doing.
11:35And I'm no longer concerned, somebody taking anything away from me, because if they take it away from me, it was never mine to begin with.
11:44But I get it.
11:45It takes some time to get to that point, especially if you're not there.
11:48I understand.
11:50One thing that I can say is know thyself.
11:53Everything starts with self.
11:54If you're overly consumed and concerned with people, places and materialistic things, you may not understand that you're a masterpiece.
12:03You may not even know that you're a masterpiece.
12:05But I do know that we are made in an image of God.
12:09So he calls us a masterpiece.
12:13And I know who my father is today.
12:17Jasmine Sullivan starts off with her awakening.
12:22When she realizes that she wakes up and ain't used to these rays.
12:27My flaws don't look so bad at all.
12:31You know, her eyes weren't used to it in the beginning, but then she had to get adjusted.
12:34Vision adjusted.
12:36And then she realized that, wow.
12:40My flaws don't look so bad at all.
12:47She says every part of her is beautiful.
12:49And when you can finally open up your eyes and see that you are a work of art.
12:54That piece right there, realizing that you're a work of art.
13:01No longer comparing yourself to somebody else, no longer comparing yourself to somebody else, no longer worrying what somebody else has.
13:08When you can stare at yourself in the mirror and be like, you did that.
13:12I like that.
13:13The rhetorical question for each and every one of you out there is, can you look at yourself in a mirror and see that you are a work of art?
13:21Can you look at yourself in a mirror and see that you are a masterpiece?
13:24Do you look at yourself and say that every part of you is beautiful, regardless of whether somebody is saying it to you?
13:32Jasmine Sullivan says in this record, I am a masterpiece of vision of Mona Lisa.
13:45See, when you know who you are, that comes with finally knowing whose you are, because I know who my heavenly father is.
13:58And with that, the choices and the decisions that you start to make after this awakening, they become very powerful.
14:05You will realize that it doesn't matter if your friends or your family, if that man or if that woman, if they don't see it, if they can't see it, if they won't see it, the bottom line is you finally see it.
14:23And it's not your job.
14:25I want you to go through this awakening.
14:28We all wake up at different times.
14:30Thank you so much for joining.
14:31I appreciate you.
14:32We all wake up at different times.
14:34We can't compare.
14:36You can't compare my timeline versus yours and the next and the other.
14:41But when you do finally start to wake up.
14:45It's not your job to showcase it.
14:47It's not your job to showcase it.
14:49It's not your job to go ahead and tell the world.
14:56I'm sure you've heard let go and let God.
15:00Let go and let him do what he knows how to do best.
15:03It's not for you to try to get back, try to get even, try to show people, try to tell people.
15:09Just let go and let God and let him do what he knows how to do best.
15:12Focus on you and focus on what he has planned for you.
15:17Easier said than done because sometimes we let the ego get in the way and we want to jump in and try to steer this ship.
15:27Powerful things happen when you realize that you are not in control.
15:32Powerful things happen when you let go and let God.
15:34Song day.
15:39Masterpiece.
15:40Mona Lisa by Jasmine Sullivan released in 2015 off of the reality show album.
15:45I can't say anything about this song except it had me stuck for a minute and it really did.
15:54And this is a good, good song to be stuck on.
15:57And I think you should really listen to it if you haven't.
16:00And it flows in as well with songs such as Masterpiece by the Clark Sisters.
16:07Check that out as well.
16:09Because finally now I can say that I'm a masterpiece.
16:14Before I wasn't able to say that.
16:16Before when I looked in the mirror, that person that was staring back at me, I didn't like the visions that I was seeing.
16:24Today I love what I see.
16:26Like my girl Mary says, I like what I see when I'm looking at me when I'm walking past the mirror.
16:32Yeah, that's what it's about.
16:35Spending that time with you.
16:38Know thyself.
16:41All right, let's get on into this.
16:43We here, we up.
16:44Thank you so much for joining.
16:45I appreciate that.
16:46As we here, do me a favor.
16:50Of course, I'm going to keep on saying this.
16:52As we continue to grow and we continue to evolve.
16:55Please like, comment, share, subscribe, tag a friend.
16:59Drop it in the comments.
17:00Let me know how you feel.
17:02So for some of you out there that are just listening, I get it.
17:05I appreciate that.
17:06But again, use your virtual voice.
17:09Those comment boxes.
17:11Go ahead and put that in there.
17:14You will bring something to the show.
17:17Maybe you can help somebody else.
17:19Of course, maybe help yourself.
17:21That's the first part.
17:22But you never know during that process who you might be helping as well as we go ahead and break through.
17:28Tonight, I want to go ahead and give a very special shout out to California, one of my favorite places.
17:36We helping out.
17:37We just going to call her Tatiana.
17:40How about that?
17:41Tatiana, 31 from Oakland, California.
17:45She says, Laren, I've been working as a medical assistant for almost eight years at the same clinic.
17:51And I love what I do, but I'm realizing that love doesn't pay the bills.
17:57I know that's right.
17:58She loves what she does, but she's realizing that love doesn't pay the bills.
18:02I've been getting passed over for raises and promotions, even after training the new hires.
18:10Some of them now make more than I do.
18:12I make $21 an hour live alone.
18:15And with inflation, I'm now juggling two side hustles just to afford groceries, car maintenance, and student loans.
18:22When I brought it up to my supervisor, she told me, be grateful that you even have a job in this economy.
18:31And that crushed me.
18:32I've dipped into my credit cards for basic stuff like gas, and I feel like I'm falling behind financially, even though I work constantly.
18:41I want to leave, but I also fear starting over again.
18:46How do you know when it's time to walk away from a job that's financially stunting your growth?
18:50And how do you prepare to leave when you're already stretched thin?
18:56Wow.
18:57Take it to the top.
18:59Miss Tatiana, 31, from Oakland, California, says that she's been working as a medical assistant for almost eight years at the same clinic.
19:10And I love what I do, but I'm realizing that love doesn't pay the bills.
19:14I've been getting passed over for raises and promotions, even after training the new hires.
19:18Oops. Some of them now make more than I do.
19:22I make $21 an hour, live alone, and with inflation, I'm now juggling two side hustles just to afford groceries, car maintenance, and student loans.
19:31When I brought it up to my supervisor, she told me, be grateful you even have a job in this economy.
19:37And that crushed me.
19:38I've dipped into my credit cards for basic stuff like gas, and I feel like I'm falling behind financially, even though I work constantly.
19:47I want to leave, but I also fear starting over again.
19:50How do you know when it's time to walk away from a job that's financially stunting your growth, and how do you prepare to leave when you're already stretched thin?
19:59Well, I just have to say welcome in, everybody, because I'm getting ready to go in.
20:04And this one here definitely rings a bell, touches home.
20:12I've been in certain parts of this, my career in retail.
20:17I've spent about 25 years in pet specialty retail, and a few more years in big box retail.
20:26So close to, I've been saying 25 years, but I think I need to up my years.
20:33We can start saying that we're getting close to 30 years.
20:38So we're going to take it to the top.
20:42Here's one thing that I have to say.
20:44I remember somebody telling me this.
20:49I first became a manager.
20:52I was like 19 years old, just became a manager, and so excited about my new position and the little bit of money that I was making at that time.
21:03And I remember a manager told me, you know what, Laren?
21:06The only obligation that you have is to yourself and your family.
21:09I want you to remember that.
21:10The only obligation that you have is to yourself and your family.
21:14Don't feel that you are obligated to this company or you're obligated to the specific boss because these people don't care about the day or tomorrow.
21:24Now, I was young, and you know the term when they say young and dumb.
21:28So everything and all of the knowledge that that man was kicking to me, it went in one ear and out the other.
21:33It didn't start to resonate until life happened, until people did the 180 on me in a retail or in a work environment.
21:43It doesn't matter.
21:44I'm talking retail because that's what I know.
21:46But listen, this person is here dealing with something in a medical field.
21:49You could be wherever.
21:50You could be in an office.
21:51Sometimes that's even worse.
21:52I've dealt with it in the office environment, too.
21:56Be careful.
21:59Be careful with being loyal to these jobs because, listen, are they loyal to you?
22:03Are they loyal to your family?
22:08When they decide to do the 180 on you, what you going to do?
22:10How you going to act?
22:11How you going to show up in this world?
22:13So that's the first thing I'm going to say before we've been digging into this.
22:16You only have an obligation to yourself and your family.
22:20Now, she spent almost eight years at the same clinic.
22:23Been there and done that.
22:26If you're not getting a raise every year, then it's time to go ahead and do something a little bit different.
22:32And that's where it comes into your obligation.
22:36When you sit there and take it and you're OK with it and you don't do anything because you're comfortable,
22:42a.k.a. complacent, who are you helping then?
22:49You're helping your employer because they don't have to pay you anymore.
22:53They're not coming out of their pockets anymore than what they were the year before.
22:58Oh, and by the way, most of the time, the person that comes in off the street is making more than you sometimes.
23:04Especially if they have experience or they have what I've learned the gift of gab when it comes to sitting down and knowing how to you properly.
23:16It's just saying.
23:18So be careful sitting on a job for a year after year and year and not getting any increases and being OK with it.
23:24I used to be that person.
23:26I was that person.
23:27And this is what I might love my boss.
23:30I might love the job.
23:31I might love this atmosphere.
23:32But you said it yourself.
23:34I love what I do, but I'm realizing that love doesn't pay the bills.
23:39There we go.
23:42And I've been getting passed over for raises and promotions even after training the new hires.
23:48This is where we got a problem.
23:52Anybody out there, can you relate?
23:54Have you ever had to try to train your replacement?
23:57Have you ever been set up to where you train your replacement?
24:02Or they stick you with somebody so that they can learn all of the skills and the great things and the value that you bring to the table so that they can go back and tell the powers that be what's going on and how we make it moves.
24:22And then they can use that against you.
24:23They can try to share your skills, your knowledge and pass it along to somebody else who might be struggling and pull them up to a certain level.
24:39And the next thing you know, the person that was struggling is now is on the same playing field as you because you gave away all of the secrets.
24:46Anybody have that happen before?
24:52You know what I have to say about that today?
24:56Absolutely not.
24:57I've been there before.
24:58When you love your job, when you love your boss, and then stuff like this happens.
25:04Remember, see, I had to remember, the only obligation that you have is to yourself and your family.
25:10Some of them now make more than I do.
25:16That's where we have to stop it.
25:18Now we need to have a conversation.
25:20So people that I trained are now making more money than I am.
25:24And then when you go and you have a conversation with the boss, they tell you, you better be lucky that you have a job in this economy.
25:34Okay.
25:35Now, that's not enough to get you to start cleaning up your resume, putting yourself out there, looking for something else, looking for another clinic to go to, maybe asking for a transfer, doing something to get yourself out of this type of environment.
25:49What do you think is going to happen if you continue to stay there time after time after time?
25:53You don't have enough money to give me a raise, but you have enough money to bring somebody off the street and give them more than what I'm making.
25:59Plus, I have to train them.
26:01Absolutely not.
26:04Now, you're juggling two side hustles just to afford groceries, car maintenance, and student loans.
26:11So I'm going to stop here.
26:13The side hustles, that's not a problem.
26:15You might need to take those side hustles and enhance them and embrace them and do whatever you need to do.
26:20But we need to figure out why do we need side hustles.
26:24Okay.
26:24You get the $21 an hour.
26:25You live alone.
26:27So minimal expenses.
26:30Yes, inflation is going on.
26:32We get that.
26:33That happens every single day.
26:35Every time we blink, something else is increasing.
26:38I get that.
26:41We're just scratching the surface.
26:42I don't know what the spending habits are, but you're saying that groceries, car maintenance, and student loans.
26:49A couple things that jump off the page immediately is the car maintenance.
26:55What type of car maintenance?
26:57How much are we spending?
26:59Is it to a point where we might need to go ahead and get a different vehicle?
27:02Will it be more cost effective if we try to upgrade in a way to cut back on some of the car maintenance?
27:13That's one.
27:14But the other thing here that really jumps off the pages of student loans, if I didn't know any better just by looking at this, I would say that's where most of the money is going.
27:24And here's the problem.
27:28Some of us go to school because that's the right thing to do.
27:33We want to be able to get the job.
27:34You need the certificate in order to get the job.
27:40We rack up student loans in the process.
27:42And we don't realize that that is part of the game to get us stuck in the matrix, stuck in the system to where we can't get out.
27:54And then we end up doing things like getting two and three jobs and being okay with it and letting that be a part of our everyday life.
28:01So before I continue helping with this situation here, that's the main focus right there is those student loans, getting rid of them and killing it immediately.
28:15And any type of credit card debt, any type of consumer debt, get rid of it immediately.
28:22Your life will change the minute that you get rid of those student loans and a credit card debt.
28:27And maybe you won't need two or three side hustles.
28:30And even if you wanted to keep them, there's a way that you can keep those side hustles and maneuver things in a certain way to pull yourself away from feeling like you're stuck.
28:46Because if one job is not going to give you what you need, yes, you might need to get two and three to give you what you need.
28:53But then after you get what you need, the next question is, what are you doing with it?
28:57What are you doing with the resources that you've gained from hustling two and three jobs?
29:02Because it's one thing to struggle with one job, but don't struggle with two and three jobs and do nothing different to try to pull yourself up out of the situation.
29:11I know people who have bad spending habits.
29:14And the next thing I'll just go get another side hustle.
29:17I'll just get another job.
29:19You got another job.
29:20You're working yourself harder to maintain the two and three.
29:26But what are we doing differently to make sure that there's an exit strategy?
29:31What are we doing differently to make sure that we don't have tenuously do this?
29:34Because I don't know about you, but for me, I just want to work for myself.
29:40I'm keeping it real.
29:42I just want to work for Black Diamond Consultations and get moving.
29:46And that's all I want to do.
29:50Now, the extra side hustles that I have to do right now at this moment.
29:57Okay.
29:58But that's not me saying that, oh, wow, I'm just accepting this.
30:02This is what we're going to do.
30:03I'm going to work two and three, four or five jobs, whatever.
30:05I call them contracts, multiple streams of income, whatever you have going on.
30:12Do we want all of these contracts?
30:17It takes time.
30:18It takes energy.
30:20You can only stretch yourself in so many different directions before you say enough is enough.
30:25So for those of you out there that might be hustling, doing two and three jobs just to make it work,
30:31what are you doing with the resources that you get from those side hustles?
30:36Because if we're just getting side hustles just so that we can go out partying, vacation,
30:41vacation, posting on the gram, making sure we got the fly here, all of that type of stuff.
30:49I'm not here to tell anybody what to do, but I would definitely second guess that type of situation
30:54because that doesn't sound like an exit strategy to me.
30:57That doesn't sound like you are preparing for your future.
31:00That doesn't sound like you are trying to unplug and pull away from the matrix to me.
31:05But I'll tell you something.
31:08A lot of people out there do it.
31:12A lot of people do it.
31:14And because of that, we're going to pivot back here.
31:20Tatiana has dipped into her cars for basic stuff like gas.
31:25And she feels like she's falling behind financially, even though she works constantly.
31:30And that's exactly what's happening.
31:32You are falling behind financially.
31:34Anytime that you have any type of consumer debt, you're falling behind financially.
31:43And you work a lot.
31:45Some people think, oh, because I work hard, that means that I'm going to be making a lot of money.
31:49I work so much, I'm going to be making a lot of money.
31:53That's not necessarily the case, especially if your spending habits don't change and it doesn't align.
31:59Now, you want to leave, but you also fear starting over again.
32:09Well, here's the thing.
32:11If you stay in a state of fear, you're going to stay stuck.
32:16And you're going to keep getting the same results over and over and over again.
32:19So by having fear, that's keeping you stuck.
32:22Now, I'm going to shift to the fear thing.
32:29God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
32:36So if God has not given us a spirit of fear, he's given us power, love, and of a sound mind.
32:45That means that fear and anything that comes with fear comes from the enemy.
32:49Once I figured that out, God has not given us the spirit of fear.
32:56That doesn't come from him.
32:57So that comes from the other one.
32:59Why would you sign up for it?
33:02Why would you walk in fear?
33:05Easier said than done, but I want you to remember that.
33:08God has not given us a spirit of fear.
33:11And after I learned that, I understand that and I continuously speak that over my life.
33:17I'm not saying that it may not creep up.
33:20It might not come in at the door.
33:21It might not be whispering in my ear sometimes.
33:24What if?
33:25What if this happens?
33:26This could happen.
33:27That can happen.
33:28I remember and I tell myself, no, I'm sorry.
33:31You got to go because God has not given me a spirit of fear.
33:34Absolutely not.
33:36I'm not signing up for this.
33:37I've played this game for so many years and I'm not doing it anymore.
33:43Walk like that.
33:45Talk like that.
33:47I don't know who I'm speaking to.
33:50I'm only speaking from experience.
33:52But from my perspective, things have to change.
33:56Not that things are going to change.
33:58Things have to change.
33:59When you make up your mind that you are not allowing any type of fear, any type of doubt, any type of anxiety, any of those negative feelings to come over and step over into your world, things have to change.
34:11Tatiana asks, how do you know when it's time to walk away from a job that's financially stunting your growth?
34:22Right there.
34:24Anything that is financially stunting your growth, walk away immediately.
34:31Run away immediately.
34:33Because this here thing called debt, this thing called consumer debt, credit card debt, student loan debt.
34:46Excessive car payments, payday loans.
34:51I mean, it comes in so many different ways.
34:55That's what the enemy uses to kill, steal, and destroy your life.
35:02So what we need to do is eliminate that immediately.
35:06And when we eliminate it, we need to run far away from it as possible.
35:11We need to lock all doors, close all windows, build all types of bridges.
35:16Push and move mountains to make sure that there's a barrier between us and that debt, credit card debt, student loans, payday loans, whatever you want to call it.
35:35You want to make sure that you separate yourself, build a bridge, build a continent, do whatever you need to do to keep yourself far away from it.
35:51Because it will continuously try to follow you and knock at the door, tempt you and entice you to signing up for that plan.
35:58And I want to make sure I got this right.
36:04I need to do me a little research here.
36:06I'm sorry that I don't have this, but there's a specific proverb that is one of my favorites that speak about the slave and a lender.
36:19And I'm going to find that and I'm going to bring that here.
36:21I don't know the specific one, but when you are the slave, the lender has control.
36:33So just remember that whenever you sign up for any type of debt, whenever you go along with the plan of spending more than what you have.
36:43There you go, the borrower coming back to me.
36:48When you borrow money that's not chores and you don't have it to repay back, you become a slave to the lender.
37:01So how do you know when it's time to walk away from a job that's financially stunting your growth?
37:05The minute that you find out that it's financially stunting your growth, you need to find something different to do.
37:09So easier said than done.
37:12Start cleaning up your resume.
37:14Start to look differently.
37:16Get into some prayer.
37:18Get into some meditation.
37:19Ask for some guidance as far as what the next step is.
37:22You may not know the answers today, but listen, if you keep being diligent and doing what you're supposed to do and showing up the way you're supposed to show up for yourself.
37:30And how you prepare when you're already stretched thin.
37:41Well, again, one thing that I can say is to help you in this process is to start cleaning up some of this debt.
37:48And it sounds like the student loan is probably one of the biggest things, fixing the car, getting another car to try to get out of all of this extra car maintenance.
37:58I don't know what that looks like, but that's one thing that car maintenance and a student loan.
38:07Once you get those under control, you might have a little bit more breathing room, maybe the side hustles.
38:13I've had it plenty of times where my side hustle ended up becoming my full time job because having a great work ethic when you're out there hustling and grinding and doing whatever you do to make it work is top notch.
38:25You have to show up to that second job.
38:29You got to show up to that third job just as much as you would on that first job because you never know who's looking.
38:34And there have been plenty of times where my second job.
38:38People came up to me and said, what do you do at your main job?
38:41And then I would explain it to them.
38:43And then they would say, well, we can pay you X, Y and Z if you want to come over here and move over here full time.
38:48So you never know who's watching.
38:50So I know that we can try to slack off mentally and then sometimes it shows up physically when it comes to the second job, because that's really not our bread and butter.
38:59But if you treat everything that you do.
39:03As if it's your bread and butter, because you know that God can see and hear everything.
39:08You never know what doors open.
39:10And I've had it happen plenty of times.
39:13And also, if something goes sour on the main job, which some that happens because, listen, everybody is not for everybody.
39:20And anybody can wake up one day and say, not like you, not want to rock with you.
39:25They could find somebody that they can pay much cheaper to do the same job as you or vice versa.
39:32They might really, really love somebody and they might want to give them a high increase.
39:36And therefore, we have to cut somewhere else and you might be the cut.
39:40If you perform well in all aspects and everything that you do, you never know what doors will be open.
39:47And one thing that I've also learned in this field, too, is when you exit, learn how to exit with grace and respect, because this is a small world, even though as big as it is, you never know who you're going to run into and you never know who knows who.
40:02I sat down at an interview one time and just as I was getting ready to open up my mouth and say something that was not right about a boss that wasn't doing what they were supposed to do.
40:12The guy in front of me reminded me that he knew who my boss was, and that was his friend.
40:20So you got to be very careful, even though I know that some of these employers and some of these supervisors, they may not be good for us and may not mean us well.
40:32So we have to go ahead and take the higher road and make sure that we don't do anything when it comes to burning bridges.
40:39If you want to chime in, if you have something a little bit different, text me at 609-210-98.
40:50That's the official 411 podcast, reading between the wands hotline.
40:54Again, that number is 609-210-98.
40:59Let me know how you feel about tonight's assignment.
41:02Maybe there's something that I didn't touch, different perspective, DM me, let me know, text me, let me know how you feel.
41:12I'd say there definitely needs to be some...
41:18I want to say we're looking at it from the financial lens and we're also need to look at it from the spiritual lens as well.
41:26Because when you're sitting here hustling and doing everything that you could possibly do from what I can see just on this letter here,
41:36and then someone comes in behind you and gets paid more than you and you're sitting there training, that's a problem.
41:43So you need to look to God.
41:46You need to get into your spiritual realm and ask, what is it that I need to do to get up out of this situation?
41:52Because this looks no good from what I'm seeing here.
41:56609-210-98, chime in, let me know how you feel.
42:06Next segment that we're getting ready to get into is burning questions.
42:09Again, this is a good segment for you to reflect.
42:15There might be some rhetorical questions tied in here.
42:18You can get your journal out and do some journaling and some self-reflection.
42:22Burning questions for tonight.
42:29Is your loyalty to the paycheck keeping you broke in the long run?
42:33And what would happen if you finally chose you?
42:39Is your loyalty to the paycheck keeping you broke in the long run?
42:43What would happen if you finally chose you?
42:49Rhetorical question.
42:52And what I can tell you when I look at it from my perspective is,
42:58and what would happen if you finally chose you?
43:02I did that, and I will tell you that for a short while,
43:11there were some financial struggles in the beginning.
43:16But what I did was I focused on a long-term goal,
43:21and it didn't happen overnight.
43:27So I would say be very careful.
43:31When you're switching and choosing different career paths and professions,
43:38make sure that it adds up.
43:39I would always question people when I sat down with them and I interviewed them,
43:45and they would say that they made so much money.
43:48And then I'd look at them and ask them,
43:50what are you doing here?
43:52And even though I asked them that at that time,
43:55and I might have like kind of internally were thinking,
44:01is this a joke?
44:02Like you're really going to go from making,
44:05and this is just an example,
44:06you're really going to go from making $30 an hour to wanting me to hire you
44:11at $12 an hour to ring a register.
44:14Like is this a joke?
44:17I would ask that.
44:20But one day I found myself in one of the same scenarios.
44:26And if they had asked me straight up,
44:29is this a joke?
44:30I would have told them no, absolutely not.
44:32Because of the amount of stress and the backbiting and the disrespect
44:37and overlooking,
44:41just as well as this scenario with Tatiana.
44:43I'm only scratching the surface.
44:45The things that go on in some of these workplaces,
44:48sometimes when you finally choose you,
44:51you're choosing your peace of mind.
44:54You're choosing less stress.
44:56You're choosing happiness.
44:57I've been in the game since I graduated high school.
45:03And the best thing that happened to me was the pandemic
45:07when they shut everything down and said you couldn't go to work.
45:11All of those years that I worked,
45:12all of the extra money,
45:14all of the bonuses,
45:15all of the trips,
45:16all of the vacations,
45:17all of the fine whining,
45:19all of the dining,
45:20all of the buying the cars
45:21and upgrading my house
45:24and getting anything that I want
45:26at the drop of a dime.
45:30So much happiness came when I gave it all up.
45:33So much happiness came when I gave it all up.
45:34Paycheck
45:42that you love so much
45:48that's bringing you so much joy on Friday.
45:54What are you doing with that money?
45:56If I could ask my young self,
45:58what are you really doing with that money?
46:00Are you putting it where it needs to be put?
46:05Are you setting up systems?
46:07Because, hold on,
46:10you're living high now.
46:12You think it's good now.
46:15But,
46:16you're so loyal to that paycheck.
46:18You don't realize
46:19that there's a bends
46:21up the road here that you can't see.
46:24There's a couple dips.
46:26There's some mountains that you're going to have to climb.
46:28And there are going to be some steep bends there.
46:33So, what you really doing?
46:34Because,
46:35you're thinking that paycheck is really rocking
46:37and it's really hot
46:38and it's really doing what it's doing.
46:40But, you don't realize
46:41that you've been blinded
46:43by the nice flashy things.
46:47And if you keep it up,
46:48you're going to be broken in the long run.
46:49Now, what would you do
46:57if you finally chose you?
47:02That might mean
47:03doing what you're passionate about.
47:05That might mean
47:06starting up that business,
47:07finally doing something
47:08that you want to do.
47:10That might mean
47:11unplugging
47:12and not going
47:13to certain places anymore
47:15so that you can get focused
47:16and
47:17get up out of the situation
47:19that you're in.
47:20That might mean
47:21going back to school,
47:23hopefully not getting into
47:24any student loan debt.
47:27That might be
47:28learning
47:29a new trade.
47:32It could be anything.
47:33But sometimes
47:36we can't do that
47:37when we're so loyal
47:39to a specific job.
47:41We're so loyal
47:42to a paycheck.
47:43We're so loyal
47:44to getting up
47:45and doing the same thing
47:47over and over and over again
47:48and sitting there
47:49wondering why
47:50and where did our happiness go
47:52and when is I'm back
47:53and when can I get back
47:54to the person
47:55that I used to be.
47:58Be careful
47:59when people start
48:01to pay you a lot of money.
48:04When you start
48:04to make
48:05the most money
48:06that you've ever made
48:07in your life.
48:08I remember saying that.
48:09Oh my goodness,
48:09I'm so amazed
48:10that I'm making
48:11all of this money.
48:12This is the most money
48:13that I've ever made
48:13in my life.
48:15If you are in that situation
48:16where you're making
48:17the most money
48:17that you've ever made
48:18in your life,
48:19pay attention.
48:22Start to look
48:22at your surroundings.
48:24Ask yourself,
48:25am I really doing
48:25the right thing
48:26with this money?
48:28Am I really putting this
48:30where it needs
48:31to be put
48:31in the right situation
48:32to keep me
48:33from going
48:33into a situation
48:34in the future
48:35that I might
48:36can't get out of?
48:41Burning question.
48:42Is your loyalty
48:43to the paycheck
48:44keeping you broke
48:45in the long run?
48:46And what would happen
48:49if you finally chose you?
48:52If you want to chime in
48:53on tonight's burning question,

50:11living.
50:13I approach
50:14debt-free living
50:15from four
50:17different lenses,
50:18spiritual,
50:18mental,
50:19physical,
50:19and financial.
50:21That was the
50:22aspect.
50:23That was the
50:23avenue.
50:24That was the
50:24path that I
50:25started on.
50:27I started way
50:28back in 2019
50:29and I had no idea
50:31and then I ended
50:31right where I am
50:32here right now
50:33here today
50:34and I went
50:35through all of them.
50:36I started with
50:37the spiritual,
50:38got myself together
50:39and then I started
50:40to work on my
50:40mental.
50:41I started to work
50:42on how I felt
50:43about my financial
50:44situation and turn
50:45it around mentally.
50:47Then I started to
50:48show up in the
50:49physical world
50:49differently and
50:50started to conduct
50:51myself differently
50:52when it comes to
50:53how I make money
50:54moves.
50:56Now I'm in
50:57the financial realm
50:59and this is all
51:00about protecting,
