00:24The book shares accounts from people who claim to have encountered aliens,

00:27including some who claim to be descended from aliens.

00:30These people are known as starseeds.

00:32They believe that, through methods like meditation,

00:34you can open your mind and recover memories of your past alien lives.

00:44Now, social media is allowing starseeds to find each other and spread their beliefs further than ever before,

00:50using platforms like Instagram and TikTok to amplify their voices.

00:53In the 2020s, several starseed influencers have managed to break through the algorithm

00:57with their bizarre and confusing content.

00:59One example is I Am Sophia, a musician who sings almost exclusively about two topics,

01:05the struggles of being an alien and cryptocurrency.

01:15Her most popular videos feature a very distinct editing style that shows her switching from alien

01:20to human form as she sings about how hard it is to be an alien in a human's body.

01:25Brad Steger himself has laid out the traits of a starseed in the past.

01:28According to Steger, about 65% of starseeds are women.

01:32Starseeds may have compelling eyes, lower body temperatures, back and neck pain,

01:36difficulty dealing with emotions, and a general feeling of not belonging,

01:40to name just a few starseed traits.

01:42It's also written that if you believe you've been abducted at one point in your life,

01:46you may be a starseed.

01:47YouTube is full of in-depth guides on how to find out if you're a starseed.

01:51Meanwhile, TikTok has I Feel You, I Am You,

01:54a starseed influencer who is most notable for her soul remembrance videos,

01:58where she speaks in tongues and performs a ritual to seemingly try to reawaken her lost alien memories.

02:03There are even starseed family vloggers, like The Empathetic Starseed,

02:07a TikTok page with over 500,000 followers, run by a medium mom named Kelly and her starseed son.

02:13No species can control the universe, it probably ever will be,

02:17because it's constantly growing.

02:19There's no start, and there will be no end, because the end wasn't always there,

02:24but the start has been always there.

02:26A lot of their content focuses on Kelly's son talking about the intricacies of the universe,

02:31religion, and explaining what it means to be a starseed.

02:33Commenters are often shocked by how well-spoken her son is.

02:36Not everyone is accepting of starseed ideology, leading to a fair amount of online criticism

02:41and causing a lot of people to label them as cringe for their eccentric content.

02:45Some even think the ideology is rooted in racism.

02:48On the other hand, starseed comment sections are often full of positive messages from other

02:53starseeds, suggesting there are a lot of people who connect with the belief and the ideas that come

02:57from the videos.
