NIDHÖG
Nidhög is a quartet consisting of four young lads from the westcoast of Norway, formed in 2020. Despite their young age the band sets out to bring back the second-wave Norwegian black metal in a sea of mass-produced modern metal projects. Their music carries a lot of atmosphere, but also a lot of aggression, something their upcoming debut-ep "Fjord" will show.
"Fjord" is intended as a comeback for second-wave Norwegian black metal in a sea of mass-produced modern metal project. "Fjord" holds a lot of inspiration from works from Burzum, Bathory, Death and early Mayhem records. Our music carries a lot of atmosphere, but also a lot of aggression. Those who love records such as Filosofem, A Blaze In The Northern Sky, Deathcrush and the like, are guaranteed to find something that takes them back to the style of underproduced 90s black metal in "Fjord".
The band is allready working on their second release, a full-length album which will be even more hard-hitting and brutal.
00:00Well, and the type of black metal we made, it's about the atmosphere, really, and on tracks like Highline, it's more about aggression, but the atmosphere is still very much there. It's very old school. It doesn't sound very modern. It's very good produced, but yeah, it still sounds old school. It still has that essence.
