00:00This is the story of Three Billy Goats Gruff.
00:20Once upon a time, there were three Billy Goat brothers who lived on a grassy hillside near a river.
00:26There was Little Billy Goat Gruff, Middle Billy Goat Gruff and Great Big Billy Goat Gruff, the largest of all.
00:34The Billy Goat brothers lived happily on their hillside, spending their days munching grass and drinking cool water from the river.
00:42But then, one terrible day, they looked around to see that they had eaten all the grass on the hillside.
00:49Oh no, what will we eat now? cried Little Billy Goat Gruff.
00:54Don't worry little brother, said Middle Billy Goat Gruff.
00:58Look across the river, there's a lush meadow over there filled with delicious grass.
01:04That's right, said Big Billy Goat Gruff.
01:06All we have to do is cross the bridge and we can eat all the grass we want.
01:11But crossing the wooden bridge over the river was dangerous.
01:14The Billy Goat brothers knew that an awful, smelly troll lived underneath the bridge and his favourite thing to eat in the whole wide world was Billy Goat.
01:25Who will cross the bridge first? asked Great Big Billy Goat.
01:29Finally, Little Billy Goat Gruff spoke up.
01:32I will cross the bridge first.
01:35He took a deep breath and trotted down the hillside.
01:38Clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop went his hooves on the wooden bridge.
01:42Who's that clip-clopping on my bridge? shouted the troll.
01:47It's I, Little Billy Goat Gruff, said the youngest Billy Goat, trying to sound brave.
01:53I'm going over the river to eat the grass on the other side.
01:58Oh no you're not, said the horrible troll and he climbed up onto the bridge.
02:03His skin was green and his nose was long and crooked.
02:07He had warts on his skin and sharp yellow teeth in his mouth.
02:11I'm going to eat you instead.
02:14Little Billy Goat Gruff was very scared of the smelly old troll.
02:19But he was also a very smart Billy Goat.
02:22I don't think you want to eat me.
02:24You see, I'm the smallest Billy Goat.
02:27I won't make a very good meal.
02:29But if you wait, my older brother, Little Billy Goat Gruff, will come along.
02:34He's much bigger than me.
02:35All right, you may cross the bridge.
02:44And so, Little Billy Goat Gruff clippity-clopped the rest of the way over the bridge and was
02:49soon in the lush meadow.
02:51On the other side of the river, the two other Billy Goat brothers saw that their youngest
02:55brother was safe.
02:56I'll go next, said Middle Billy Goat Gruff.
03:00And off he went, across the wooden bridge.
03:02Clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop.
03:05Who's that clip-clopping on my bridge?
03:08shouted the troll.
03:10It is I, Middle Billy Goat Gruff.
03:13I'm going over the river to join my brother in the meadow.
03:17The smelly troll climbed up onto the wooden bridge a second time.
03:20Oh, no, you're not, he hissed.
03:24Because I'm going to eat you instead.
03:27Middle Billy Goat Gruff was scared of the troll.
03:30But like his younger brother, he was also a smart goat.
03:33You could eat me, but you would be making a mistake.
03:37If you just wait a short while, my older brother, Great Big Billy Goat Gruff, he's the biggest
03:44of all of us and would certainly make the best meal.
03:48Hmm, all right, you may cross the bridge.
03:55And so Middle Billy Goat Gruff clip-clopped the rest of the way over the bridge and was
04:00soon in the lush meadow with his younger brother.
04:03On the hillside, Great Big Billy Goat Gruff could see that both his brothers had made it
04:08safely across the river.
04:10And so off he went, down the hill and onto the wooden bridge.
04:14Clippity-clop, clippity-clop, clippity-clop.
04:16Who's that clip-clopping on my bridge?
04:20Said the troll.
04:21It is I, Great Big Billy Goat Gruff.
04:24I'm going over the river to join my brothers in the meadow.
04:28The vile troll climbed up onto the wooden bridge a third time.
04:32Oh no you're not, because I'm going to eat you instead.
04:37But unlike his younger brothers, Great Big Billy Goat Gruff was not afraid of the terrible
04:43troll.
04:44The large goat stamped his hooves, lowered his great big horns and charged at the troll.
04:51Crash!
04:52He rammed the troll right off the bridge.
04:55The horrible, ugly, smelly troll fell into the river with a great big splash.
05:01And so, Great Big Billy Goat Gruff clip-clopped the rest of the way over the bridge and was
05:09soon in the lush meadow with Little Billy Goat Gruff and Middle Billy Goat Gruff.
05:14The three Billy Goat brothers spent the rest of their days happily munching green grass and
05:20drinking cool water from the river and the ugly troll was never, ever seen again.
05:27The end.
