00:02:49There's so much at stake this Sunday, pro wrestling circa 1997, as well as the future.
00:02:55And it all revolves around Sting Hogan and Bischoff Sabisco.
00:03:00You hear the chant, Larry, Larry, Sting and Hogan.
00:03:02They're talking about it everywhere, Larry.
00:03:04It truly is the biggest match ever.

00:03:08And, of course, on my shoulders rests the biggest television show.

00:03:15And although the world is shuddering over the knowledge that Eric Bischoff's hands

00:07:33You look, we're at the Mencken Coliseum.
00:07:36And this is really, if you think about it, this is the place where it all started as far as it being the insurgents of the NWO.
00:07:45It was in this venue on the television program during Memorial Day of 1996 that Scott Hall walked into the ring here in Macon.
00:07:56And thus the NWO started to transform.
00:07:59The transformation from Scott Hall, then Kevin Nash, then Hollywood Hogan, and then Eric Fitchcock.
00:08:05And then the snowball effect of the NWO.
00:08:07So this is really kind of a return to where it all started, Mike.
00:08:11Well, this was the birthplace of the New World Order.
00:08:14But this Sunday at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.,
00:08:18World Championship Wrestling has a chance to take all that momentum back
00:08:22and bring it to WCW as well as Larry, the weight of the world on your shoulders,
00:08:27so that Nitro remains with World Championship Wrestling.
00:08:30He has one name you haven't mentioned, one of the members of the NWO6.
00:08:34Haven't seen six around since I had his neck in my arms at Halloween Havoc.
00:08:40He's been on the sidelines ever since, hasn't he?
00:08:42I hope Bischoff's been watching.
00:08:44I hope Bischoff realizes what it's like to be in the sugar hold
00:08:47and suffer the pain as blood comes out of your eyeballs and your ears.
00:08:53I don't know if he knows what it's like or not, but I certainly hope in six days he finds out.

00:09:01This is an interesting matchup. Eddie Guerrero and Fit Finley,
00:09:04and we understand that Finley demanded this match last week on Nitro.
00:09:09Finley against Dean Malenko.
00:09:11Well, he took advantage of something that wrestlers know.
00:09:14Malenko coming off neck surgery, and he dropped him with a tombstone pile driver.
00:09:19We thought it was to help Guerrero, but obviously Finley wants to fight his own battles.
00:09:24Eddie Guerrero, who has been saying some, as you said, some disparaging remarks about Dean Malenko,
00:09:31and will have to face Dean Malenko for the Cruiserweight belt coming up at Starrcade.
00:09:36Top to bottom, the Starrcade guard.
00:09:38Hogan and Sting is enough. It's enough said.
00:09:42It's the biggest match in our sport, but if you look what else we have.
00:09:45The Battle of the Giants, Kevin Nash, and the Giant.
00:09:48And you look at the living legend in Eric Bischoff, and so much running on the line.
00:09:52Bret the Hitman Hart will be the special referee.
00:09:55Whose side is he on? I mean, I know what they say, I know what the numbers have been talking about,
00:10:00but there's no question that Bret the Hitman Hart has some sort of alliance, has talked to Eric Bischoff.
00:10:08Many people did not believe he was a part of the NWO, and after last week they still don't believe him.
00:10:13Well, I don't know how you could jump to that conclusion.
00:10:15Does he really have an association with Bischoff or not?
00:10:18It seemed to me like Bret Hart was staying neutral.
00:10:22Well, it's easy for the NWO in order to have Bret Hart come out, say whatever he wants to, to mislead.
00:10:28But believe me, Bret Hart better call it down the middle, or he'll never make it back from Larry Land either.
00:10:34Well, you know, we really never, and I'm glad you said that, we've never had you react at all
00:10:39to Bret the Hitman Hart being named special referee.
00:10:42As far as I'm concerned, Bret Hart is New World Order.
00:10:45He will be figured into the equation of Bischoff's demise and the salvation of WCW Nitro.
00:10:52Finley in control with a catapult move. Guerrero throw first across the top rope.
00:10:57I'm kind of surprised that Eddie Guerrero this close to a cruiserweight title matchup
00:11:01with Dean Malenkovich.
00:11:03He'll be going against Fit Finley, who weighs in the neighborhood of 240, 245,
00:11:07well above the cruiserweight limit.
00:11:10You can only think that a match against Fit Finley would toughen you up.
00:11:14Oh, no doubt about that going into Star Cape.
00:11:16One of the real tough guys in the sport today.
00:11:18You're in the corner with Fit Finley and Eddie Guerrero here in this program.
00:11:22As we said, fans, we are on the air tonight for three solid hours.

00:11:39a man who walked out of the wrestling ring for the football season,
00:11:42back on the gridiron and has helped the 49ers go to the playoffs
00:11:46and have whole field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
00:11:49We're talking about the WCW Sackmaster, Kevin Green.
00:11:52And isn't it amazing how success seems to follow Kevin Green wherever he goes?
00:11:56I'll tell you something about a man's success is following another Star Cape,
00:12:01Diamond Dallas Page.
00:12:03You saw what happened last week in Nitro, Diamond Dallas.
00:12:06And you know the revising hatred he has for Curt Hennig.
00:12:09He owes Hennig a big one.
00:12:11And he's going to step in against Hennig, taking the place of Ric Flair at Star Cape.
00:12:15Elbow to the bridge of the nose, that time by Fit Finley.
00:12:19And Finley is Mr. Offense.
00:12:22Really, if you go back and look over his matches, you haven't seen Fit Finley on the defensive end many times.
00:12:28And you rarely see him back up against his opponents.

00:12:36Now, Finley's a brawler.
00:12:37He likes to fight it.

00:18:25filling Bischoff's big head with all this hot air about how great he is that he can beat me.
00:18:32Doesn't Bischoff realize Scott Hall wouldn't get in the ring with me for a reason?
00:18:38Because I would wipe his face in the mat.
00:18:41They're throwing Bischoff to the Lions.
00:18:43I think Scott Hall has a pretty good memory when it comes back to the last time he was in the ring with you, Larry.
00:18:48He was looking up at the lights, wasn't he, at the conclusion of that match?
00:18:52Yeah, Hall's not as stupid as he looks, but Bischoff is.
00:18:57Steve Mongo McMichael certainly has a history with the faces of fear, this week facing Ming, and Mongo set to face Bill Goldberg this Sunday at Star Cave.
00:19:11That's going to be a battle between Iron Greats, I can tell you that.
00:19:14And we talk so much about the power that Mongo possesses.
00:19:18You're looking at another man Ming, one of the most powerful in fear, but really a rising star in this sport is Bill Goldberg.
00:19:26No one can deny what he has done in a short span.
00:19:29And that's the key there, Larry, and you would have to agree with this.
00:19:32In a short span, that jackhammer maneuver, one of the most feared moves now in our sport.
00:19:37Now, Bill Goldberg, he's a natural athlete.
00:19:40He's thrilled that he's got a tremendously aggressive nature, just like Mongo here.
00:19:46I mean, the mess between these two guys is going to be like two tractor trailers gliding head on.
00:19:53I think Goldberg has to be one of the early favorites for Rookie of the Year, 1997.
00:19:57No question about that.
00:19:58Let's not forget a week ago that Mongo was supposed to have this match with Ming,
00:20:02but Goldberg knocked him out before he could even get out of the starting block, so to speak.
00:20:07Goldberg comes to the ring, and then Mongo comes to, and they have a massive pull apart.
00:20:11And now we're having the match we should have had last week as a cover, and Ming pulls off in two.
00:20:16But that was a little payback from what Mongo did at World War III.
00:20:20So now the two men will finally go in the ring.
00:20:23Coming up at Starrcade this coming Sunday, Larry.

00:40:45But then Hammer, then Hammer picked him right back up and threw him out.
00:40:49Hammer truly one of the strongest men.
00:40:53That led to the flock pounding Chris Benoit.
00:40:56I'd say it's a little unfair.
00:40:58Why don't the rest of you guys get in here to give him a hand?

00:41:04Well, let's just take one at a time.

00:41:56And Benoit scheduled to go up against Raven coming up this coming Sunday at the Starrcade.
00:42:02And that has been a match that's been a month in the brewing.
00:42:05And I tell you, if there's one man who wants Raven, I believe if there's one man who does not believe what Raven stands for, it's Chris Benoit.

00:43:18Because he had won the match and then he dove right into the entire flock.
00:43:22He's a very brave man, is Benoit.
00:43:25And he is obviously not afraid of anyone.
00:43:28There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity.
00:43:32And sometimes we all prompt that.
00:43:35Like Bischoff did.

00:43:41Hammer wisely using the advantage that he has over Benoit.

00:44:36And we've seen the look of fear on Hogan's face a few weeks ago,
00:44:39when he looked eye to eye.
00:44:41And here comes the rest of the flop.

00:44:47A chair, a back body drop, and a clothesline.
00:44:50And Saturn up and off the top.
