00:00But I do want to reiterate what the president said about Mexico.
00:02Mexico is still paying tariffs.
00:04They're paying a 25% tariff on fentanyl, 25% tariff on cars,
00:08a 50% tariff on steel, aluminum, and copper.
00:12And additionally, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate
00:15its non-tariff trade barriers, of which there are many.
00:18And as the president said, we will continue to talk to Mexico
00:21over the next 90 days with the goal of signing a larger trade deal.
00:25The key to this, again, is Mexico has agreed to terminate
00:28those non-tariff barriers and to continue to work with us in good faith.
00:32Mexico is a very unique situation of all the other countries around the world
00:36because, of course, we share our southern border with Mexico,
00:39which we've seen an increase in cooperation between Mexico's president,
00:44Claudia Scheinbaum, and our administration on clamping down on drug trafficking
00:48and human trafficking at the southern border.
00:49We appreciate those efforts and will continue to work in good faith
00:53and to continue to have these trade discussions as well.
