00:15Wales will be adopting new laws agreed by World Rugby Council. In this video, I'm going to be
00:20talking about cleaner play at the set piece, specifically at the Ruckham Mall. The rationale
00:24behind this is to protect the nine and to enable cleaner play at the back of the Ruckham Mall.
00:28Law 15.18 covers the Ruck area, where a player who is involved or was involved in the Ruck may
00:35not play a player near it within one metre as he tries to play the ball away. Law 16.18 covers
00:41the Mall, where a player who is or was involved in the Mall cannot play a player near it within
00:46one metre as he attempts to play the ball away. Both laws 15.18 and 16.18 are now sanctioned
00:52by a penalty. In this first clip, there is a Ruck. Red 13 is part of that Ruck. White 9
00:58attempts to play the ball away and is played by Red 13. This is now sanctioned by a penalty.
01:03In the second clip, Blue formal Mall. Red 5 was part of the Mall. Blue 9 attempts to play the ball away
01:10and Red 5, who is within one metre, tackles Blue 9. This is now sanctioned by a penalty.
