00:00Yusuf Salek has insisted he's happy at Cardiff City, despite widespread speculation about his future, following the club's relegation to League One.
00:11The striker stood out as one of the few positives during an otherwise difficult campaign last season, scoring eight goals in 20 championship appearances after joining the Bluebirds in January 2025 on a four and a half year deal for around £4 million.
00:27Salek's performances have attracted interest from several championship clubs this summer, with many tipping him as a key target given his goal-scoring ability.
00:39However, the 23-year-old is focused on the task ahead and determined to help Cardiff bounce back at the first attempt.
00:48I'm really happy at Cardiff, Salek said. It's obviously I wasn't joined long ago and I've felt every part of it so far.
00:56And obviously clubs and agents speak and that's just their job. I'm coming into training every day and trying to improve and do my best for the team.
01:06The striker also expressed confidence in new manager Brian Barry Murphy's methods, believing the coach's specific training sessions are already bringing out the best in the squad.
01:16Absolutely. Vincent was very clear about where he sees the club going and how quickly he wants to see that and my conversation with him was really positive and really I told him I had a real deep belief in how to do that.
01:34I think that's probably the most important thing. I think for everybody on the outside, including Vincent, the objective is to get to the championship and be on as soon as possible.
01:41The goal for the whole club is to get back up and do it the best way possible, Salek added.
01:47Cardiff's relegation was a bitter blow for the club and its supporters, but Salek's commitment and optimism offers a bright spot.
01:56The squad is working hard to rebuild confidence and cohesion, with Salek's presence key in providing both goals and leadership on the pitch.
02:04His determination to succeed at the club is clear and he could prove vital to Cardiff's hopes of a Swiss return to the championship.
