Manchester United want to sign a striker in the final month of the summer transfer window but face serious competition in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko.
RB Leipzig have already rejected Newcastle's opening bid of €75 million plus €5 million in add-ons because they want the same guaranteed fee plus add-ons, but with a sell-on clause as well. It means United will have to at least match that offer if they are to sign the Slovenian striker.

00:10Ruben Amarin has made it a priority to add a striker to his United side this summer and Sesko is currently viewed as the top target for United in the final month of the summer window.
00:22The 22-year-old wouldn't come without sizable risk but he's viewed as a player with the raw potential to become one of the leading strikers in the world game.
00:31Of course there are questions of whether he is more suitable to the United set-up than Rasmus Hoyland.
00:36They seem to be quite a similar profile of player.
00:39United of course are open to offers for Hoyland this summer and they're prepared to take a PSR hit on his sale.
00:45They signed Rasmus Hoyland for a package of £72 million only a couple of years ago and will be prepared to sell him for £30 million this month.

01:07RB Leipzig don't want the money in that deal.
01:10They do view it as the right financial package but they also want to have a sell-on clause included in the deal as well.
01:16So if United want to sign Sesko, you'd expect that they'd have to match that £65.5 million up front,
01:21further £5 million in potential add-ons and a sell-on clause for the Bundesliga club.
01:28United of course are looking at all their options before deadline day.
01:32Striker is the current priority for Ruben Amrum.
01:34United would also like to sign a goalkeeper and another midfielder if possible.
01:39But at this moment in time, United's interest in Sesko is genuine.
01:42It's basically on hold though.
01:44They want to have commitment from the player.
01:46Newcastle also seriously interested in the RB Leipzig star.
01:50He has to make the decision.
01:52Does he go for the guaranteed Champions League football next season and maybe the short-term success of Newcastle?
01:58Or does he buy into that project that Amrame is trying to build at Old Trafford?
02:02The Portuguese head coach, of course, is absolutely adamant that he will only sign players who are fully committed to playing for Manchester United.
02:11So at this moment in time, Sesko is still the top striker target for United.
02:14But he needs to make a decision on who he wants to play for first before United prepare a bid for him.
