Transcript
00:00G'day, I'm Helen DaCosta and in the last week across the state, cattle prices continued to
00:05increase being driven by a fast approaching spring and increased demand for store cattle
00:10with recent rains recorded around the state. At Gloucester's fortnightly store sale last
00:14Thursday, prices continued to climb. Steers sold from $50 to $120 dearer while heifers were up to
00:21$150 stronger. At Dubbo last Friday, a smaller yarding increased competition while agents said
00:28the buying gallery was one of the largest they'd seen in recent sales. Wiener steers sold up to $230
00:34stronger than last month. Down in Braidwood last Friday, despite the wintry and cold conditions,
00:39prices rose across the board. With warmer conditions coming, agents said they expected this trend to
00:44continue. The same trends were continued at Wodonga on Thursday with a very strong market. Anything with
00:50weight was highly sought after, with processes also competing on the feeder cattle. Meanwhile, in the
00:57market prices surged at Dubbo on Tuesday, jumping from $30 to $70 with processes also driving this market.
