00:00He's another one, a bit like Firpo, that the Premiership passed him by.
00:04Schmit continues to struggle down that far side, he's missed the flight of that.
00:13Looking for, unable to capitalise for the maximum.
00:21Didn't start a single game in the Championship last term, Isaac Schmidt.
00:26I think it'll be used as a sub, but there's only starts coming in the FA Cup.
00:30Here come Leeds again with that man stacked through the middle.
00:33Seneca takes over.
00:38Limontso, it's a good tackle.
00:40Stopped him in his catch by Zashari.
00:42And Chikwesi takes over for Milan, looking to increase their advantage.
00:47Musa, well, brilliantly done.
00:50Trying the task that was needed.
00:56It's another corner, though.
00:58Good play from Musa, this time on the right-hand side.
01:01AC Milan again in the wide areas.
01:03Look how narrow the two Leeds United centre-halves are in the middle of the pitch.
01:06So close, which encourages the full-backs to then narrow in.
01:09If they're going to do that, OK, that's all well and good,
01:11but then you've got to get Nonto and Dan James in front of those to block those spaces.
01:15And that's something that they haven't done in this game.
01:20Chikwesi taking that near post this time.
01:23Initially, he's able to get it cleared.
01:27It's a good clearance, too, to Nonto.
01:29James is dashing forward if Nonto can put it into a decent area.
01:33He's done his best, but once again Terracciano has alerted the threat.
01:40He hasn't found touch.
01:42James will keep it in.
01:45Excellent from Nonto again, very aware of where Dan James was.
01:48Recycled the ball, quickly tried to get it into his path.
01:51And since Leeds struck the bar in the tenth minute through Stack,
01:58they haven't threatened at all.
02:01They've slowly taken control of proceedings.
02:04We're going for the last few moments before the half-time whistle,
02:08and then we'll see an awful lot of changes to personnel at half-time
02:12and then throughout the second period as well.
02:14as both coaches take stronger looks at other players at their disposal.
02:25Jacket for Gudmundsson.
02:28Piro waits in the middle, it's a good ball, well dealt with by Gabyet.
02:33All of his experience to deal with that.
02:38And his feet from Moussa.
02:39Straight, the stack.
03:05That's all right.
03:06That's all right.
03:09Jensen.
03:12Too strong, but Schmidt will keep it alive.
03:16Piro has come out of the box to try and help him here.
03:21He will shoot.
03:22Awkward bounce.
03:24Tarriciano does ever so well with the second ball,
03:27but the flag is up anyway.
03:29Just as Tanaka was looking to prod it home, Tarriciano clears,
03:32but the flag has gone up anyway, it wouldn't have counted.
03:34It was a decent strike, wasn't it?
03:37Troubled the goalkeeper.
03:39Managed to get it away at a second attempt.
03:41Meevan wouldn't have counted, Joe Piro just dips in front of the goalkeeper.
03:44Difficult one, because in these weather conditions in pre-season,
03:47the pitches get heavily watered before the game,
03:50and they actually dry out, and you do get the wet zippy spots
03:53and the bits where the ball sits up.
03:54You can see there, it just sat up in front of Tarriciano.
03:58Good well the goalkeeper.
04:0235 years of age now, Pietro Tarriciano.
04:07It's on a one-year deal from Fiorentina.
04:09It's on him!
04:11Torres reached the Conference League final.
04:15Both occasions, based on the losing side.
04:18Good signing, it's a free, isn't it?
04:20I think it's all there into what Mangan will play.
04:22Well, that will do us for the first half from the Aviva.
04:27Right on, 45 minutes, the referee blows for time.
04:30Milan in front, courtesy of that strike from Santiago Jimenez.
04:35Leeds United, prior to that, though, had had a chance through Willy Nonto
04:39and had also struck the bar from the impressive Anton Statt.
04:43There will be plenty of changes throughout the second period.
04:46We hope to get a look at Luka Modric and Milan shirt as well.
04:49At the break in Dublin, it's Leeds United 0, AC Milan 1.
05:10It's AC Milan 1, Leeds United 0 at half-time here at the Aviva Stadium.
05:14The teams are heading back out very shortly,
05:16so it's time to hand you back over to your community team this afternoon.
05:19Paul Robinson, but first, Martin Fisher.
05:22That's a lot, Emma. Thank you very much indeed.
05:23So we're waiting what we expect will be a mass of substitutions.
05:30Paul is alongside me, scribbling down frantically with his coloured pens
05:33to try and determine, try and predict exactly who will be coming on during the break.
05:38We're going to be very, very busy trying to work it out.
05:41But obviously that's what it's all about, pre-season friendlies.
05:43It's all about the coaches getting a look at as many players as possible.
05:47Yeah, they're not good for commentators, are they?
05:49Our prep list going on.
05:50Obviously a glimpse behind the curtain.
05:52We do our prep and you do your individual prep on every single player
05:55that you think in a squad of maybe, what, 23?
05:57I think I did my prep for this game a couple of days ago.
06:00I think I ran out of paper and pens.
06:01The amount of players that you put into a pre-season squad.
06:04But no, it's good.
06:05It's good for the managers.
06:06Certain players will get run outs.
06:07But obviously with Leeds starting next week,
06:09Daniel Farke is going to have that in his mind.
06:11You look at his starting 11 that he picked next week against Everton
06:14was clearly at the forefront of his mind.
06:16The substitutions he will make now between now and the end of the game
06:20will be how many minutes his players have had in pre-season.
06:23It will all be monitored to the nth degree.
06:26He will know exactly how many minutes every single player has trained,
06:30recovered, had time off, matches, match minutes that they've played.
06:35It will all be structured from the start of pre-season to the end.
06:38And the players that he's got in mind,
06:40he will roughly know what he wants to start next week against Everton.
06:44And those players will have their minutes monitored today.
06:47But I also think he'd like a couple of signings through the door
06:49that gives him a problem.
06:50As for Milan, of course, they've got that other friendly tomorrow
06:53against Chelsea.
06:54And their season doesn't start for a fortnight.
06:57So they're slightly behind Leeds United in terms of their pre-season campaign.
07:00So Allegri will want a look at more of his players than maybe Farke will today.
07:05Just the one change for the Italians at the break.
07:08You can see their number 39, Andre Kubis,
07:11who is a 21-year-old centre-back, is going to come on.
07:14Romanian under-21 international.
07:16He's actually the captain of their young side, their reserve team.
07:20Milano Futuro picked up a couple of red cards last season
07:23during my research that I discovered about him.
07:25So he might be one to keep an eye on as this second half progresses.
07:28Yeah, very much rotation for AC Milan.
07:30As you say, two weeks out of Serie A starting.
07:34Starting against newly promoted Criminese in the first game on the 23rd of August.
07:39And a strange one.
07:40Two games in 48 hours, they leave here Dublin tonight,
07:43get on the plane, fly to London,
07:45and immediately they'll play against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
07:48And I suspect, looking at the starting eleven today,
07:51the starting eleven earmarked for tomorrow's game against Chelsea,
07:54will probably be slightly stronger than the one that started this game today.
07:58As you look at the names missing and not on the bench, sorry,
08:01the names on the bench on the side, the names that are actually omitted,
08:05you would expect a stronger AC Milan side to start against Chelsea tomorrow.
08:08It looks like just a one change at the break for Leeds as well.
08:12Carl Darlow is coming on for debutant Lucas Perry.
08:17Surprised, I'm really surprised at that.
08:19I think he's obviously going to play Lucas Perry at the start of the season next week.
08:23Carl Darlow's had a couple of games pre-season,
08:25the Manchester United, the Villarreal games,
08:28and I think he's match-ready, and if he's not going to play,
08:31I thought it would be important for Lucas Perry today
08:33to get an understanding with Joe Rode on Pascal Stroik, his back four,
08:37and to only have 45 minutes with them before the start of a new season.
08:41Clearly the manager's happy and he's thinking of putting him in.
08:44So, AC Milan get his back underway, leading by a goal to nil,
08:48that strike on the half-hour tucked away by Santiago Jimenez, the Mexican.
08:54And Leeds started brightly.
08:57Nonto, with a chance, didn't quite, well, didn't get enough elevation
09:01to try and dink it over Pietro Terracciano.
09:04And then just after that, that blasphemy stack that clipped the top of the crossbar.
09:09But after that, despite having plenty of the ball at times,
09:12Leeds unable to fashion any opportunities worthy of the name.
09:16Milan got stronger and stronger.
09:19And had opportunities to increase their lead.
09:24Jimenez over the bar with that header.
09:27Pirro.
09:29Looking hard to reclaim possession.
09:36His goals last season, so, so important in Leeds United's title success in the championship.
09:4619 goals, earned him the championship golden boot.
09:51It's a bit short though by Rodon as he looked to find Stack.
09:55With Munson in possession.
09:58In possession.
10:03And Purdue for Schmidt.
10:05And here's James.
10:07And here's James.
10:15He's going well to himself a free kick there.
10:17We know what a good player Dan James is, he's quick, he's direct.
10:29One thing I like about him, his first thought, he's always forward.
10:32He's not one of these wingers who looks to keep possession, recycle the ball,
10:35rotate the ball back through midfield.
10:37His first thought is always running behind the back four,
10:40or if the ball's at his feet, dribble, take people on,
10:42play the ball forward.
10:43Very direct and quick.
10:45So, Anton Stack with this set-piece for Leeds United.
10:52Place towards Rodon.
10:54Still trying to keep it alive.
10:57Corner given.
10:58Surprising in a way, you know, Anton Stack's on these set-plays.
11:01He's taking corners, he's taking three kicks.
11:03Listen, I'm not surprised because he's got good quality,
11:06his delivery is excellent, as we can see there, the ball in to the far post.
11:09But his height and his presence, it's been an addition in the defending 18-yard box.
11:14So you'd think from Leeds' point of view he'd be an addition in the final third.
11:18You've got players like Dan James, Nyonto, who are more than capable of putting delivery in.
11:23And Stack taking this corner, just to underline Paul's point there.
11:26As it's flipped on its way by Gabier.
11:29He's 6'4", Anton Stack.
11:31So...
11:32He's at aerial presence.
11:36You'd expect him in the box attacking the corners rather than taking them, wouldn't you?
11:43He is in proper European competitions.
11:57Leeds have had 17 meetings with Italian opposition.
12:01And they've won more games than they've lost.
12:046-4.
12:05And Deaton along the road as well along the way.
12:08Defensive attributes required here as Rodon gets it away from the early delivery from Zisari.
12:15Zisari.
12:29Padlovic.
12:34Now Gabier.
12:44Pignon on his bike again up this near side.
12:47Pignon on his bike.
12:48Pignon on his bike is raised.
12:59Surprised when they let him go, Brighton, is the Pignon.
13:02A player who can play on the left-hand side, on the right.
13:04Very versatile full-back.
13:05An attacking threat.
13:07Looking good signing for AC Milan.
13:10Yeah, as we said already today, they do like to play with win-backs on occasion.
13:17And it will suit that role up and down this left-hand side
13:23as that opportunity opens itself up again this season for AC Milan.
13:28Very much a back five now, as you can see.
13:37Look at the monitors, you can see the wide shot.
13:40Quite happy to sit defensively deep.
13:43The Italian resilience to defend them.
13:46Had a half an attempt to press, but no real attempt to press.
13:54There's James.
13:55Nice touch just ran away from him.
13:59Pavlovich able to recover for Milan.
14:08Rode on.
14:17Tirou.
14:18Pirou.
14:19That's an epic.
14:26For Jimenez as he tried to dispossess Pirou.
14:34Some kind of contact has caused the Mexican to have an issue of some sorts.
14:40I don't think there was much intent there from Joe Pirou.
14:43He just stood on Jimenez.
14:45He's trying to turn away from the Mexican.
14:47Close control from Joe Pirou.
14:49There it is, you can see the left foot.
14:51Pirou lands on the calf.
14:53Jimenez see it better from this angle.
14:55Keep an eye on Joe Pirou's left boot.
14:57Goes up in the air, comes down on the calf of Jimenez.
14:59Painful one, no intent.
15:01There's the away end.
15:03There's the away end.
15:05They are dotted about the Italian population in Dublin.
15:07Certainly outnumbered by those in white, yellow and blue today.
15:09fantastic support and following that Leeds United bring everywhere.
15:11All over the world, all over the country.
15:13There's the away end.
15:25They are dotted about the Italian population in Dublin,
15:29certainly outnumbered by those in white, yellow and blue today.
15:33Fantastic support and following that Leeds United bring everywhere,
15:37all over the world, all over the country, wherever Leeds play,
15:40they'll be there in the numbers.
15:42Jimenez has had his treatment.
15:48He'll be OK to carry on.
15:52Looking at the lengthy bench that Milan have named for this tip,
15:56I can't see an out-and-out striker on there.
15:58He's mentioned in the first half I found now,
16:00and Christian Pulisic not involved at all today.
16:03The youngsters that are on the bench are defenders or midfielders.
16:08Two previous pre-season games, Okafor,
16:14Takawesi, great play there.
16:16May just be a rotation for AC Milan.
16:18This is Ampadu for Leeds with Munson.
16:22Stacked away by Salah.
16:28Spick for James.
16:42Stack.
16:53Schmidt for James.
17:08So deep, AC Milan, they really are.
17:10Again, like I said in the first half,
17:12this isn't something that Leeds United will come up against
17:14that often in the Premier League.
17:15Teams won't sit deep and allow them the possession that they're having.
17:19They did in the Championship last year,
17:20that's what happens when you're the better side.
17:22Hux across looking for Perrault.
17:24Nunzo, full stretch, it was slightly behind him.
17:28He's looking to keep the pressure on.
17:30Tanaka.
17:32Stack.
17:33Good Munson.
17:34Good ball from Nonto, finding Tanaka.
17:48Nonto, looking for Perrault.
17:51James couldn't get there at the back post.
17:53Better from Leeds.
17:54Ah, it's a wonderful ball.
17:56That really is a fantastic ball from William Nonto.
17:59Gets himself a yard of space.
18:02Good play in the build-up.
18:06Schmidt gets the cross in.
18:09That's the opportunity early.
18:11Ball ends up with William Nonto on the far side.
18:14Wonderful ball would have put in.
18:15Got a better connection on the cross than he did on that occasion.
18:17Go for it.
18:45It's very friendly, friendly at the moment, isn't it?
19:11You have the ball for a while, then we'll attack.
19:13We'll give you it back.
19:14You can test our defence.
19:15It's almost like we'll play defence against attack for a while,
19:17and then we'll let you do the same to us in preparation for the season.
19:21Any challenges going in at the moment?
19:23Can't blame the heat, are they?
19:25Because it's not the warmest of afternoons in Dublin today.
19:28It's pleasant, but not hot.
19:29So we can't blame excessive temperatures on certain spells of the game
19:33when it slows down so much.
19:34Okafor, that's an intelligent-looking ball,
19:36but full strikes coming in round the back.
19:40Unable to do much with it, Manje.
19:43Good ball, good delivery.
19:45Again, once again.
19:46Afforded too much time and space.
19:48Didn't have to do a lot to earn the space to put the cross in.
19:52Slightly over-hit, Manje couldn't make the most of it.
19:55Good strength from Tlaka.
19:57Nianto making a great run inside left channel.
20:01Manje's got back at him now, though.
20:07Nianto for Perrault.
20:09Drop for him here.
20:11Nice to get a shot towards goal,
20:13and it looks as though it took a flick on its way through.
20:15It will be a Leeds corner.
20:18Let's see what he's trying to do, Perrault.
20:19Initially the one-two with Nianto.
20:21Ball comes in to him, he tries to turn it round the corner.
20:25Corner quickly taken.
20:26Ampadu with the angle ball, looking for James.
20:28And very nearly finding James.
20:31It's a great recovery by Jimenez, of all people, back there.
20:34Better by Leeds.
20:35Better by Leeds.
20:36Quick corner, quick thinking.
20:37And James once again gets in behind.
20:52Schmidt.
20:56A bit of space for the Swiss.
21:08Low ball in, helped on by Stack.
21:10James tussling with Esther Pinyan, goal kick given.
21:12Give it S.
21:38A bit of support on that right-hand side.
21:43Road on to clear, Leeds have plenty back there.
21:48So he wins the loose ball, Manu can try and get in from the left.
21:52Staff after him.
21:53He's been impressive, Stack.
21:58Really impressive.
22:00He's been all over the pitch.
22:02Picks at the first yellow card of the day.
22:04And in the pre-season friendly, that takes some doing.
22:06So that shows you what he's about.
22:07Is it in the friendly friendly?
22:08It is.
22:10But you see him there in the left-back position.
22:12He's covered a lot of ground today, Stack.
22:14Offensively has impressed me as well, but he's also showed a side to his game.
22:18Well, like there, he's not afraid to put the challenge in.
22:20But a grit, but it's determination.
22:22And Leeds will need that next year in the Premier League.
22:24Been really impressed with his performance today.
22:26Come closest to scoring for Leeds today with that first-half effort
22:32at the top of the crossbar.
22:38And he's need to find a goal from somewhere as we approach the hour mark.
22:41Daniel Farr could get what he's got up his sleeve
22:45and his possible replacements.
22:51Punts of them, all of them are available to him today
22:54as Leeds win a free-kick.
23:13Second and third changes imminently.
23:21Leeds fans just trying to pick up the atmosphere a bit.
23:24Has been a little bit so horrific in this second-half,
23:27having to nudge Paul to keep him awake at times.
23:31You nudge me back to do the same.
23:34Interested to see all the substitutes warming up down below
23:36as it's normally the hour mark, isn't it?
23:38The manager starts shuffling the plaque.
23:39Lovely ball, Levanto flag is up.
23:41Lovely ball around the corner by Jean-Pierreau.
23:56And next season in the Premier League with VAR, that will not be offside.
23:58Timed his run to perfection there, William Nihonto.
24:00Very, very lucky to be flagged offside.
24:02It's a side to Jean-Pierreau's game that he's got,
24:06all his goals he got last year, but he added to that with his assists.
24:09Drops deep, very, very clever, intelligent player.
24:11Got a lovely touch with that left foot.
24:13So here are the two changes that we were talking about.
24:21Victor Eluto and Diego Sia coming on for the goalscorer, Jimenez and Cubis.
24:31He's only just come on, of course.
24:35It's a blow to him.
24:35A bit of information about the two youngsters coming on.
24:40Diego Sia, just 19, another Italian under-19 international.
24:44He's a midfielder.
24:49Victor Eluki, a Nigerian under-20 international.
24:54He's 20 years of age.
24:55He's another midfielder, just signed a new two-year deal with Levanto.
25:05He's got to see Luka Modric come off the bench and warm up all others.
25:14Maybe the manager's thinking that he has an 11 that starts,
25:18and then he substitutes the youngsters, manages the minutes.
25:24And he's schmicked for Leeds.
25:26James took a flick of Osterpignan, chaos in the box for a moment.
25:31It's pushed away by Eluki, now as far as Strijd.
25:37Tanaka, good Munson.
25:56Rode on.
25:57Rode on.
26:05James.
26:13Cheeky.
26:14Clever at times, Dan James.
26:16Sometimes backs himself down a cul-de-sac,
26:18but he knows how to get out of it by winning free kicks.
26:21He's a player that does win a lot of free kicks,
26:23whether that by intelligence or just by his sheer pace
26:26that catches defenders out.
26:30Jermaine Stack again with the set-piece.
26:34Five in right in the box.
26:36Good Munson making that six now as Stack swings it in.
26:40That with easily by AC Milan.
26:49Schmick just about kept it in.
26:51Just about won it back from Salah.
26:54Stack takes over.
26:56It's going for Tanaka.
27:01Into Perrault.
27:03Good first touch and not far wide with the second.
27:07Quite connected as well as he wanted to, the shot.
27:10But Krupa was concerned for a moment.
27:14A really good piece of play by Leeds.
27:16Joe Perrault doesn't have to do a lot to find himself in a lot of space outside the edge of the box.
27:21Fantastic ball into him.
27:23Even better first touch.
27:24Just can't quite apply the finish.
27:27He's a danger, Joe Perrault in those areas.
27:29Brilliant first touch.
27:30He has been the man in form, hasn't he, with goals during the pre-season campaign.
27:43Including the equaliser a week ago, making it four.
27:46Flurry of changes imminent for Leeds United.
27:51Five coming on.
27:53Normally the hour mark, isn't it?
27:55He's gone to 65 minutes, Daniel Farch.
27:57Something obviously key in his pre-season preparations.
28:00Trying to look down from up here.
28:02On a high vantage point, it looks like there's going to be five changes.
28:06Longstaff's going to be one of those.
28:07The matchup.
28:10I don't think the system will change, but the personnel is certainly going to change from Leeds' point of view.
28:14Brendan Aronson's down there, one of those.
28:16Gruev.
28:18Shows the strength and depth that Leeds have actually got now.
28:21Do want more players in before the window closes, as we discussed earlier.
28:24The quality of player that stood below is ready to come on.
28:27You wouldn't have been surprised if they'd have started the game today.
28:29Schultz.
28:35Schultz.
28:47Goodmanson, he's forcing on the corner for Leeds.
29:05All those five come on now, looks like they are going to make that change
29:15before the corner has been taken here.
29:24This is the point of the game where you try and read what the manager's thinking,
29:28I think the only thing you can read into the game today is the start of the 11th.
29:32Now it's about managing players' minutes, like we said,
29:35giving players minutes off the bench.
29:37And has anyone got time left today?
29:3925 minutes plus added time that we've got to play themselves into.
29:43Daniel Farks thinking for that game against Everton.
29:46There will be players here today that will be disappointed
29:48to have been left out at the start of the 11th.
29:50They'll be coming on the pitch thinking, I'm going to have 25-30 minutes,
29:53can I put something in the forefront of the manager's mind
29:55that gives him second thoughts of maybe the team he was going to select
29:59for next week against Everton?
30:01Give myself an opportunity to play.
30:09So five on at once then for Leeds.
30:14Byron replacing Schmidt.
30:16Longstaff and Gruev coming on into the midfield for Ampadu and Tanaka.
30:21Aronson and Nemetje replacing James and Perrault.
30:28Corner back for Nonto.
30:33First touch.
30:34Stack with plenty of room here.
30:37Takes Eamon, fires and finds the bottom corner.
30:40Well, the goalkeeper had to do better with that.
30:44Terracciano's error.
30:46Stacks goal and Leeds United are level midway through the second half.
30:51Leeds won, AC Milan won.
30:52And if anyone in a blue and white shirt deserved the goal today,
30:57it was that man Anton Stack.
30:59He's been excellent for Leeds today and he's crowned his performance off
31:02with a wonderful finish.
31:04Talking for thought for Daniel Farke.
31:07They're worth corner, Gruev just come onto the pitch.
31:12Or comes back out to stack.
31:15As far as it hoped more than expectation.
31:17It's a cross come shot.
31:18One of those if everybody misses it,
31:20finds its way into the far corner.
31:22And that's exactly what happened for the big German.
31:26Great performance today.
31:27You can see him here.
31:29Gets pace, he's thinking.
31:30Far post, with pace.
31:32Goalkeeper makes a real mess of it.
31:36They don't care.
31:37Paul's nestled in that bottom left-hand corner.
31:39Leeds United are back in this friendly.
31:44I guess he'd like to say it was an inspired substitution as he brought on all five,
31:47but only one of those five had an involvement in the goal,
31:50and that was minimal as Gruev fed it back out left for Stack.
31:54Stack just took aim and chanced his arm, really.
31:56And maybe, maybe just to give some kind of excuse to Pietro Tarriciano,
32:01there was a lot of movement ahead of him,
32:02might just have been distracted slightly,
32:04but he should really be doing better with that, shouldn't he?
32:07That's very kind of wish you were commentating on more of my games.
32:09Really poor from the goalkeeper.
32:11My goalkeeper's union card went out the window in lieu of honesty
32:14and my job a long time ago.
32:16Should do a lot better, the goalkeeper.
32:17Funny, actually, because we just got word up to the gantry
32:19that they were potentially making a substitution, didn't we?
32:21AC Milan were thinking about bringing the goalkeeper off.
32:23I bet they wish they did now.
32:25Yeah, we were told that Lorenzo Torriani, who's only 20,
32:28was about to come on, another of their academy products.
32:33Now, what does Allegri do now?
32:36Does it look as though he's taking off his first choice goalkeeper today?
32:39Because of that error, or would the message have gone out already to that?
32:42That's from a managerial point of view, man-management.
32:45When a goal goes in like that, you take the goalkeeper off, it's a very difficult one.
32:50One, two, three, four.
33:08And it's Byron for Leeds.
33:27There's a goalkeeper, he never liked to be taken off just as he'd conceded a goal.
33:31Especially a goal like that, it was obviously a pre-planned change.
33:33From Tarakciano's point of view, to conceded a goal like that and immediately get the hook,
33:41it won't be his confidence any good.
33:43Aronson, tussing with Pavlovich, and getting the best of the third.
33:48Byron has won himself a free-kick, and the Leeds fans getting really up for this now.
33:53The sense that the pendulum has swung their way,
33:56this will be a massive boost to their pre-season campaign
33:59if they were to end it with a victory over the Italian Giants.
34:05Listen, regardless of what team and the personnel changes that AC Milan
34:09may or may not have made today, it's AC Milan.
34:12It's Leeds United, it's AC Milan, it's a huge game at the end of pre-season.
34:15In front of a packed crowd here today.
34:17Any kind of result will give them massive confidence going into next week's game.
34:21Giroud with the delivery.
34:27Had that ball crossed the line before it was caught?
34:29Or did he manage to keep it in play?
34:31Sorry Arnie.
34:32There's maybe an answer to my question why I stuck on set plays.
34:35LAUGHTER
34:51Kankovic this time, this was us by a long step.
34:54APPLAUSE
34:56Not seen for being in Leeds United's half at all in this second half.
35:22As Manto takes a spill.
35:30Stack.
35:31Let go, let go, let go...
35:32Let go, let go.
35:37Let go, let go!
35:43Let go, let go!
35:53Strike.
35:55Byron getting forward on this right-hand side, he's looking that away.
36:05He's lost it, Manson.
36:26And he's getting a free kick.
36:31No changes in it for Leeds United.
36:49It's going to be three this time.
36:51Stoic.
37:04Manson, Biol and Ramazani are the trio.
37:10They're just getting their final instructions from the Leeds coaching staff.
37:16And Stoic comes forward.
37:17Goodmanson and Llonto.
37:22Let it run nicely but...
37:25Couldn't hit the target with his drive.
37:28Done well today, Llonto.
37:36We can maybe find out that his number might be up now.
37:42He's going to do well to take off Ampadu, he's already sat on the bench I think.
37:44I think it might be Pascal Stoic that's looking to come back.
37:49Pascal Stoic's just passed the armband across to Joe Rodon.
37:52Looks like him who's making his way over to the near-touch line.
37:54Jack Harrison will get an interesting reception from the Leeds fans.
37:58And away from the club for two years.
38:00Didn't leave in good terms.
38:02But players' futures can be turned around as we've seen with Brendan Harrison last year.
38:06Big round of applause for Rajiv Ramazani, the Belgian.
38:22And there's the boos and one or two cheers for Jack Harrison.
38:31These fans didn't like the way that he left the club and parted for Everton.
38:35But again, with Brendan Harrison, the way that he came back into the side last season,
38:39he got the same reception at the start of last year.
38:41Had a particularly good season.
38:43Listen, if you play,
38:44minimum effort is the maximum requirement in a Leeds United shirt.
38:48Sorry.
38:49Yeah.
38:50Maximum effort is the minimum requirement.
38:52And when the Leeds fans see you giving that,
38:54you're giving a performance,
38:55and there's an end result of the performance,
38:57there's always a way back.
38:59Brendan Harrison showed that at the start of this season.
39:01Jack Harrison's got a lot of work to do.
39:03If indeed he's still to be at the club.
39:05Well, that's an occasion point, isn't it?
39:07He might just be bouncing into the club to go out again.
39:10But, well, he has scored goals in the Premier League,
39:14not just for Leeds, but also in his time in Everton,
39:17just the one last season.
39:18But overall, 21 Premier League goals,
39:20and they're going to be so so important from anybody next term.
39:24But certainly being told in no uncertain terms
39:29by a proportion of the Leeds support here today
39:31that he's not the most popular player around today.
39:34And the fact that the manager's just brought him on at left-back
39:37suspects that he may not have much of a future
39:39in all honesty.
39:40Not his favourite position, let's just say.
39:42Beal also could be at the new signing,
39:45Bijou coming on.
39:46He's having a lack of minutes today,
39:48I think suspended for the first game of the season.
39:50Obviously there's a reason there why he hasn't been given
39:52more of an opportunity to play today,
39:54because he's ineligible to play against Everton.
39:56Yeah, signed from Udinese, so we all know quite a lot about many of these Milan players
40:02in opposition today.
40:04Leeds have got 15 minutes or so to try and win this game,
40:07and they'll definitely be trying to win it,
40:09because the way the game has gone second half,
40:11they look the more likely team to score.
40:13Cheers turning into cheers as Harrison Cowher is at forward.
40:17Coming down that left-hand side now, Mecha is the target,
40:21but just couldn't quite get hold of it there as it was threaded through by Ramazani.
40:29Another option for Ramazani, I think he wants to play more than he did last year.
40:32Look at the options that Leeds have got in those wide areas.
40:35Jonto, Aronson, Ramazani, Dan James.
40:42They've got a plethora of good attacking-wide quality.
40:45Maybe that number-nine area that Daniel Park was touching on
40:48after his post-match press conference last week against Villarreal
40:51when he said he wants attacking players.
40:56Pass-ball by Pavlovich was short.
40:58The staff collected and was looking to find Lucas a matcher again,
41:04but a little bit too heavy.
41:06Looking down here, Paul, just trying to see...
41:08I mean, Milan have got about 12 subs warming up down there,
41:11and I can see Luka Modric,
41:13but Allegri at the moment hasn't called any of them down to him
41:16as though he's going to make any changes.
41:19Must have got that game tour against Chelsea,
41:21and we know that for that one they'll bring in many of those
41:24that haven't been involved at all today thus far.
41:27So he might prefer to sit Modric out completely today
41:31and then starting tomorrow.
41:36But I'm sure many of the fans inside the Aviva today
41:39would love to have a glimpse of the little magician
41:43before the final whistle.
41:45Given the amount of substitutions very similar
41:47and they're still warming up down below us.
41:49The fourth official's either going to need another board
41:51or new batteries because I think there's an influx on its way, isn't there?
41:54We're going to need a couple of new pens, that's for sure.
41:56Highlight has run out after about six substitutes, let alone 12.
42:03Longstaff for Ramazani.
42:07Ahead of him at the moment.
42:10I'm sure you can hear that over the effects, Mark.
42:24A sell-out here, magnificent crowd.
42:26To put that in perspective for the recent international games that Ireland have played here.
42:37There were 40,000 for the game against Bulgaria in March, 32,000 for the game against Senegal in June.
42:43The last set-out here was last September in the Nations League when England were the visitors.
42:50It must be every time I turn up, that must be what it is.
42:54I was here for that game as well.
42:56But no, it just shows you the power and the pull of Leeds United, doesn't it?
42:59Such a huge club.
43:01It also adds weight to the conversation about the redevelopment of Alan Road.
43:04I mean, it's a fantastic old stadium, a historic, nostalgic old stadium.
43:08So many personal memories that I hold there, but so many memories for the club.
43:11But actually, it's got to move with the times.
43:13And I've always said it, if Leeds had a 50,000, 60,000, 70,000-seater stadium,
43:17however big that stadium was, it would always be full.
43:20And even here in Dublin, this just shows you the size of this football club,
43:24that they can fill a stadium in a different country.
43:29Can they win the game?
43:30Another quarter, Stack's delivery.
43:34On top for Ramazani, now for Harrison.
43:37Patiently for Stack.
43:39Back for Harrison, this is a big story, isn't it, if he was involved in the winning goal.
43:45A story yet to be written, though.
43:50He'll have his own personal agendas as well.
43:53Jack Harrison, if there is to be no future for him at Leeds,
43:56he'll want to get match fit, and as match fit as possibly can be
43:59going into the start of a new season and ready for whatever challenge for him personally lies ahead.
44:10He just uncapped four pens, I'm getting worried what's going on on that sub-bench.
44:14I can tell you that Milan are going to bring on at least one,
44:18but Allegri is calling down to those in the corner.
44:23I don't think Luka is one of the names that he's calling for just yet.
44:29I think he's the only one left, isn't he, at the moment, Luka Modric.
44:33The AC Milan subs have made their way to the centre line.
44:38To be fair, he doesn't look that bothered that he might not be involved today.
44:42He never does, though, when he plays, does he?
44:44He's one of those players that makes the game look so easy,
44:46gives himself so much time and space.
44:48Makes the game look very easy, Luka Modric.
44:50Turns 40 next month.
44:52Look at his honours, when you look at his international caps,
44:55188 international caps, and still going.
45:04It says that part of the attraction to join Milan was that one of his heroes is
45:09Samir Bouba, who was part of the Milan side that was so successful in the 90s,
45:15helped them win the Champions League in 1994.
45:27We're going to see four Milan alterations.
45:32Samir Ritchie, the Italian international, another of their summer signings,
45:37came in from Torino for €23 million, he's going to be coming on.
45:45He's going to be coming on.
45:56Toritiano, the 22-year-old, is also being introduced.
46:00Malik Thior, another.
46:15Just looking now down at the formation,
46:24Parisi Milan pretty much stayed the same.
46:27Certainly is just a change of personnel in the last ten minutes of the game.
46:32Saving his bigger names for tomorrow.
46:34Chelsea fans watching the game today,
46:35seem to be a few stars on show at the bridge.
46:37It shows the quality and the size of the squad that AC Milan have got,
46:41but they're actually able to do that, doesn't it?
46:42I mean, who takes two games of this stature in 48 hours?
46:44Absolutely.
46:45A couple of former Chelsea men will be involved at the bridge tomorrow.
46:49Lubin Loftus-Cheek and Tomori, Muka Modric,
46:52Moussa Fafana, the Frenchman,
46:54Rafael Leal and Christian Pulisic all being saved for the time being,
46:55it seems, by Allegri today.
46:56As they go looking for a winning goal.
46:57Oh, absolutely.
46:58Oh!
46:59Oh!
47:00Almost came.
47:01Cardano, who's had absolutely nothing to do since coming on at half-time.
47:03And they're going to be able to do this stature in 48 hours.
47:04Absolutely.
47:05A couple of former Chelsea men will be involved at the bridge tomorrow.
47:08Lubin Loftus-Cheek and Tomori, Muka Modric,
47:13Moussa Fafana, the Frenchman,
47:15Rafael Leal and Christian Pulisic all being saved for the time being,
47:19it seems, by Allegri today.
47:21As they go looking for a winning goal.
47:23Oh!
47:24Almost came.
47:25Cardano, who's had absolutely nothing to do
47:27since coming on at half-time.
47:29Almost beaten by that close-range header.
47:35But it stays 1-1.
47:37It was Sia who got in.
47:39He'd just come on the pitch as well, hasn't he?
47:41Put himself in behind the full-back, Sam Byron.
47:44Decent ball in, simple ball in.
47:46Made a mess of that one, Carl Darlok.
47:53There's Richard.
47:57Mr. Pina.
48:02Sarlakas.
48:09Here comes Gruet.
48:14He's supposed to clear it.
48:15And he has conceded a free kick.
48:17Concentration now for Leeds.
48:22What do you say about the nature of the friendly, but the result is all important.
48:27Confidence going into that next week.
48:29If they ever got beaten here today, you ask the manager,
48:31is it important to say no, it's a pre-season friendly.
48:33You get a result against AC Milan the week before the season,
48:35it's a confidence-builder going into the season.
48:37I think the result is important for confidence for Leeds.
48:40Concentration and get to the 90 minutes.
48:46Don't think he got any kind of touch, though.
48:52You must have been in this situation, I'm sure, in your career, Paul,
48:54where you just don't see the ball at all for the best part 30, 35 minutes or so.
48:58I'm sure it'll happen a couple of times, surely.
49:00How difficult is it to just stay focused on what's going on?
49:04Did your mind ever start to wander in that situation?
49:06It's difficult.
49:07It's a very lonely place as a goalkeeper,
49:09and at times you're not involved in the game.
49:10I used to like following the game around the edge of my box
49:12and talking nonsense, almost commentating like I'm doing now,
49:15but actually talking to the players as though you would
49:17if they were 20, 30 yards in front of you so that you could hear you.
49:21But actually it's quite an individual sport at times,
49:24in a similar way to tennis and golf.
49:25You're actually alone for long periods of time with your own thoughts,
49:28which sometimes isn't good when you're a goalkeeper.
49:35We're a different breed, we're a very different breed.
49:37We'll leave that there.
49:43It's a lovely flick on, knew that Byron was arriving.
49:47Here's Nemeche.
49:54Done well, he's found a cross.
49:58He's found the clearance that Longstaff gets a toe to, and Leeds have it back.
50:13Interesting signing, Sean Longstaff.
50:15Part of the furniture at Newcastle for so, so long.
50:20Over 170 appearances for them for years, but felt that it was time to move on,
50:26was given a heavy hint by Eddie Howe that that was the case.
50:30And, of course, £12m brings a lot to the table, doesn't it?
50:33It was a really good signing.
50:34Premiership experience, a really good age.
50:36And a player, as you say, with something to prove,
50:38comes into the Leeds United side today behind Tanaka.
50:42And it gives him that little bit more encouragement,
50:45a little bit more, you're going to have to work for your shirt.
50:48I think that's something that Daniel Fard wants.
50:50He's looking for in the match, that was a difficult ball to control.
50:59Harrison.
51:03Ramazan.
51:04This is Diop.
51:22One last change for Leeds, and it's going to be the youngest of the bunch.
51:28Another from the Gray family.
51:31Harry Gray is going to be coming on very soon.
51:34Probably now, actually, as Gruev goes down and Leeds get a free-kick.
51:49He's had an excellent afternoon.
51:50Tostock tops his performance off with a goal.
51:54And the Leeds fans have a little insight as to what they can expect
51:57for the rest of the season.
51:58I think he's been affected in both halves of the field going forward,
52:02supporting the lone striker Joel Perrault.
52:04His defensive capabilities as well.
52:08I think he's going to be a real asset to Leeds United going forward, Anton Stack.
52:11So Harry Gray is on, 16 years of age, son of Andy, brother of Archie,
52:20who's moved on to Tottenham, of course, in recent seasons.
52:23Pretty sure that his grandad Frankie actually was involved in that Cup Winners' Cup final
52:29we were talking about earlier on in 1973 when AC Milan beat Leeds 1-0 in Greece.
52:36Here is young Gray.
52:39He's done great.
52:47It's quite a dynasty, isn't it?
52:49As before.
52:51He's got a good test for Leeds today.
53:03He really has.
53:04I think you saw the 11 that the manager picked to start with.
53:20At times it's been friendly, as we discussed,
53:24but I think there's times in the game where you can see the structure of the side,
53:27you can see the pressing points, the trigger points, if you like,
53:31the shape, the system, what the manager wants to play.
53:34And I think if they do come out of this with a result,
53:36it's been a very successful pre-season for them.
53:3890 minutes up on the clock now, two minutes of added time to play.
53:55That would be it for AC Milan.
53:59Well, space opened up there.
54:01Lack of a proper left-back out there just being exposed.
54:04What an opportunity for Diego Sia to win the game for AC Milan.
54:10He's touched the ball twice since he's come on, Diego Sia, hasn't he?
54:13Two fantastic opportunities for AC Milan to win the game.
54:17Finds himself in a locked space at the edge of the box.
54:20Just can't quite wrap his right foot around the ball.
54:25Went high up, above and away.
54:28The low point in the stand away to our left, the lowest point in the stadium.
54:31Then he went bouncing down Lansdowne Road, that one.
54:33Well, Leeds will look at the pre-season campaign that they've had, five games.
54:48Two wins and two draws coming into this as Grace campers forward,
54:53hoping that Leeds can make it three in the winning column.
54:56Make sure that that play will be theirs.
54:59Byron wants to take it quickly, but Nildian White shared that thought.
55:08Rodon sent the edge of the six-yard box as Byron wants to propel this into the danger area.
55:26It's beyond Rodon.
55:27Now he takes the tumble, that's never going to be given.
55:31Byron drives it in.
55:32Doorhead gets it away.
55:34Is that going to go behind for the corner?
55:36It is.
55:37This will be the last phase of the game, Paul.
55:39I don't mind seeing that from Leeds' point of view,
55:41because if this was a Premier League game, they'd be looking to win it,
55:44they've got an opportunity like that for a long throw.
55:46Injury time, added time in a Premier League game,
55:48that's exactly what they would do.
55:50Put everybody forward now, apart from the goalkeeper,
55:53an opportunity to win the game with a last kick.
55:56And Harrison it is who's going to take it.
56:06Good delivery, too.
56:08It's cleared by Seat, and that will bring the four-time whistle
56:12here at the Aviva Stadium.
56:14Honor's even as Leeds United complete their pre-season campaign
56:18with a very creditable draw against the mighty AC Milan.
56:26Behind at the break through Santiago Jimenez's strike,
56:30but Leeds dominated that second half for huge chunks of it,
56:33and midway through it,
56:35they found the equaliser through the impressive Anton Stack.
56:39And Leeds will take plenty of positives from today
56:43and the other four games that they've played
56:46during this pre-season campaign
56:49as they build up to the big kick-off a week on Monday
56:52as Everton go to Ellen Rowe.
56:58Finishes here at the Aviva.
57:00Leeds United 1, AC Milan 1.
57:05Well, that rounds up Leeds United's pre-season here
57:08at the Aviva Stadium, where it ends Leeds 1, AC Milan 1.
57:13And I think it's fair to say, Bex, that that second half,
57:16Leeds were a bit more dominant, weren't they?
57:19Yeah, they were.
57:20Look, when they started passing the ball a little bit quicker
57:22with a little bit more purpose,
57:23that's where the opportunities started happening,
57:25the spaces and the gaps started being created.
57:28The only downside was we were only able to see one more goal
57:31from Leeds United rather than a couple more.
57:34It would have been nice to see a few of the attacking players
57:37get on the score sheet or cause a few more problems
57:39to the goalkeeper.
57:40But all in all, it was a very good second half especially.
57:42Well, we will have a look at the goals shortly.
57:45But Stuart, how do you sum up that game?
57:47Particularly, you know, we've seen some of the new signings
57:49come on today.
57:50They've had a run out.
57:51What did you make of them?
57:52Yeah, I think it's been a successful game for them,
57:56you know, against a real quality opposition as well.
57:59And, you know, when you look at the three main games
58:02that Leeds have had in pre-season, you know,
58:03Man United, Villarreal and AC Milan,
58:05and they've had three draws, you can say it's been
58:07a successful pre-season.
58:08The manager will have taken loads out of that.
58:10He said before the game that he wanted his team
58:12to suffer at times.
58:13I don't think they had to suffer too much.
58:15They got the goal in the second half.
58:17They were dominant in possession but just couldn't
58:19obviously go and find a winner.
58:20But he'll be delighted with the effort that the players
58:23have put in.
58:24Well, look, Bex, we know that Daniel Farquhar
58:26is a very pragmatic manager.
58:28What do you think he'll make of that performance?
58:31Look, he's one of those managers that likes to look
58:34at positives but also whenever there's something
58:36that needs improving, he's not ashamed to,
58:38not afraid to pick those positions out,
58:41pick those players out and have a word with them
58:43in a positive way, not so much a negative way.
58:45So, all in all,
58:47all in all.
