Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices have agreed to give the U.S. government a share of revenues from certain chip sales in China, according to CNBC. In exchange for 15% of revenues from chip sales, Nvidia and AMD will receive export licenses to sell their H20 and MI308 chips in China, the Financial Times reported. The deal comes as Trump’s tariffs impact the global economy, highlighting the White House’s willingness to make exceptions as a bargaining tool. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met with Trump last week and said the company follows U.S. government rules for global market participation. Trump said last week he would impose a 100% tariff on semiconductor and chip imports unless companies manufacture in the U.S.
