Craig Hampson explains how each hive at Hampson Honey can house up to 50,000 bees, producing around 20 kilograms of honey every three weeks in peak conditions.

00:00Here we are in one of our bee yards. This is a standard double beehive. From the time the
00:04queen lays an egg to the time a bee is born is about 21 days. From that time, that number at
00:11this time of the year, the number of bees will effectively double every three to four weeks.
00:18In this hive we'll end up with about 50,000 hives and in good conditions we could end up with a
00:24box of honey every three weeks, 20 kilos of honey every three weeks in this location.
