00:42Clare Obscure Expedition 33 just came out, but it quickly became an instant classic, solidifying

00:47itself as one of the greatest turn-based RPGs of all time.

00:51This is thanks in part to its unique and brutally difficult boss fights.

00:54We're going to overlook the fact that Mael can deal literally millions of damage with

00:58the right build, but even then some bosses take real effort.

01:01The final boss Renoir is no exception.

01:15He hits like a truck, and if you deal enough damage, the axons you fought previously heal

01:19him fully and give shields.

01:21His second form has him summon his family canvas, powering himself up and dealing massive damage

01:26to your party.

01:39Sephiroth Reborn

01:40Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

01:49The final boss in the second of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy is quite the spectacle,

01:54and also quite the challenge.

01:56When you reach Sephiroth and the Forgotten Capital, some big stuff goes down that we won't talk

02:00about here, but if you know, you know.

02:02And at this point, how do you not know?

02:05Anyway, it leads to Cloud and the gang facing off against the white-haired heartthrob for

02:21the umpteenth time, fighting through multiple forms in increasingly impressive cinematic encounters.

02:26The Sephiroth Reborn section sees Cloud taking him on one-on-one, which is where the real challenge

02:31begins.

02:32The massive forms attacks take up most of the screen, so you'll have to do your best to

02:36dodge and block strategically to get a chance in to hit.

02:47Raven Beak

02:48Metroid Dread

03:00Metroid Dread was in development hell for years, but we were finally treated to the

03:04newest 2D entry in the beloved series in 2021.

03:07The Nintendo Switch exclusive is one of the most challenging in the entire series, with

03:11borderline horror elements as Samus scrambles to escape the terrifying Emmy robots.

03:16The final boss fight with Raven Beak, however, is easily the hardest part of the game.

03:19Reminiscent of the Sigma fight at the end of Mega Man X, fighting Raven Beak is the ultimate

03:33test of your skills and reflexes.

03:35He moves fast and packs a punch, and his patterns can become somewhat unpredictable as you whittle

03:40away his health.

03:41In his final form, Samus fuses with the Metroid for an epic final confrontation.

03:54Hades

03:55The literal big daddy at the end of Hades is Hades himself.

04:06This groundbreaking roguelike features a ton of difficult boss battles you'll encounter

04:10throughout countless runs, but protagonist Zagreus' father is the toughest of the bunch,

04:14especially as you complete more and more runs and increase heat.

04:26The God of the Underworld can cover the whole screen with massive area of effect attacks,

04:30testing your dodging prowess and reflexes.

04:32He also shoots seemingly endless projectiles and attacks with his spear in a sweeping circle,

04:37making it almost impossible to get in close to land your own attacks.

04:40You'll be dashing and blocking for almost the entire fight.

04:43With the right build on later runs, you'll come out on top a bit easier, but that initial

04:47fight is hard as hell.

05:00Number 6.

05:01Radagon and the Elden Beast

05:03Elden Ring

05:11We all know by now that the most popular and iconic boss from FromSoftware's masterpiece,

05:15Elden Ring, is Melania, Blade of Mickelah.

05:17But the final main boss, Radagon, and the subsequent Elden Beast, are nothing to scoff at.

05:22The fight with Radagon is a tough duel where your dodge and parry skills will be put to the

05:26test.

05:32The second phase of this fight is against the Elden Beast, a monstrous, eldritch horror that

05:37moves quickly and attacks with heavy swings of its sword.

05:39Dodging is tough, and it'll both dive under the water and fly above you, so knowing how

05:44to maneuver around the arena is the key to victory.

05:57Number 5.

05:58The First Berserker, Kazan

06:08Asma, the Master of Chaos, is a powerful mage and an old friend of our titular hero Kazan.

06:13In this Sekiro-inspired Souls-like, the boss fights throughout are as brutal as you'd expect,

06:18and the final encounter against Asma is the toughest of them all.

06:27The fight is broken up into three grueling phases, each giving their own unique mechanics

06:31and attack patterns.

06:32The third phase sees Asma fully transform into his demonic appearance, flying around the

06:36arena and attacking you with his massive sword.

06:38This will likely take you more than a few tries to beat, but once you do, you get to enjoy

06:43an extremely satisfying ending cutscene that's well worth your trouble.

06:57Number 4.

06:58Nameless Puppet, Lies of Pee

07:08The true final boss of the Pinocchio Souls-like Lies of Pee is one of the toughest boss battles

07:12of all time, let alone of the 2020s.

07:14To fight it, simply refuse to give Geppetto your heart at the end of the game.

07:18The first phase is relatively tame, but it's when you finish this part that the Nameless

07:22Puppet breaks free of his strings and is let loose to take you on at full power.

07:33Now dual wielding swords, he moves and attacks significantly faster, easily covers more distance,

07:39and deals incredibly high damage with a single hit.

07:41In typical Souls-like fashion, you'll have to dodge and parry strategically to survive.

07:54All Mind, Armored Core 6, Fires of Rubicon

08:08The second FromSoftware game on this list, 2023's Armored Core 6 is one of the hardest

08:12entries in the franchise thanks to its bosses, and the All Mind fight at the end of the game

08:17will definitely give you hand cramps.

08:19To experience the true All Mind boss fight, you have to get the other two endings, then

08:23finish New Game++.

08:25Once you do, you're in for the hardest fight in the game.

08:28Irregulars.

08:29We will bring order to chaos.

08:35All Mind comes at you with an overwhelming arsenal of lasers and missiles, moves extremely

08:40fast, and dodges your attacks with ease.

08:42You eventually get an ally in the fight in air, but even then beating this boss is hands down

08:47one of the hardest bosses of the decade.

08:57The Freelancer, who had it all.

09:01Gloctopus Exit the Gungeon

09:10To fight the Gloctopus in Exit the Gungeon, you'll first have to complete two runs with different

09:15gunjoneers, which is a challenge in itself.

09:18Once you do, a bounty appears in the keep of the Lead Lord, allowing you to face this

09:22eight-legged big bad.

09:29The fight itself will overwhelm you fast, as the boss lives by its namesake quite literally.

09:34Each of its eight tentacles is holding, you guessed it, a gun, and it'll fire at you non-stop.

09:39Being able to dodge and jump at the right time is crucial for surviving its onslaught of bullets,

09:44ricocheting skulls, and missiles.

10:30120 hour plus game, we wouldn't fault you for just trying to get through it.

10:34The overall fight is spread over multiple forms, with narrative dumps sprinkled in between

10:38encounters, and if you die, you'll have to do all of this over again.

10:47The clever mechanic of targeting a specific mask with the required element during the Destroyer-Sharadrius

10:52portion makes it crucial for the player to understand the ins and outs of the game's

10:56battle system, and will likely be where you'll meet your demise.

10:59Once you beat it, sit back and enjoy the ending.
