00:00They will complain mild headache, light headache, which is like a person might be normal all through.
00:05They've not been diagnosed with hypertension but they will say, I have a headache today.
00:10But the headache is bad, it's kind of bad.
00:12What are the typical signs and symptoms that the patient would present or maybe the family members would pick up?
00:18Most of the time they're always being associated with headache and sometimes blurring of vision.
00:23So, and how does it differ between the etiologies that which symptoms comes first?
00:30Basically, brain, the first warning sign, example, in the spontaneous bleed.
00:35Because trauma, usually they already come to us in the emergency department.
00:39So, we usually don't need the specific sign for them.
00:42But in hypertension bleed or hypertensive bleed or stroke or aneurysm ruptured,
00:47the number one causative sign and symptom is headache.
00:51So, they will complain mild headache, light headache, which is like a person might be normal all through.
00:57So, they've not been diagnosed with hypertension but they will say, I have a headache today.
01:02But the headache is bad, it's kind of bad.
01:04And subsequently, they will start to have other symptoms like vomiting.
01:09This is sign of a raised intracranial pressure.
01:11And subsequently, brain is a very specific and beautiful structure.
01:16That means if you have a bleed in a certain area, you have a certain symptoms.
01:21Like most commonly in a stroke, in a hypertensive bleed, usually in a basal ganglia,
01:26which is 60% of, sorry, 58% is in a basal ganglia.
01:30They will come with the weakness.
01:32That means unilateral weakness.
01:33They have a weakness of the right arm, left arm and also a right leg, left leg.
01:38It depends how big the clot and how severe the bleeding is.
