00:00Dark Wolf is an origin story of Ben Edwards from The Terminalist.

00:06How did he get kicked off the SEAL teams?

00:11In the book, Ben Edwards is kind of just an evil guy,

00:15but he's played by Taylor Kitsch so beautifully.

00:17You wonder what would cause a person like Ben to make those types of decisions.

00:21Ben Edwards is utterly unpredictable, and that's what makes him so great.

00:25He's driven by loyalty, brotherhood, patriotism,

00:28but there are also things that haunt him.

00:30Mission's been denied.

00:31You go tell my men what you just told me!

00:34At the end of episode one, there's a split-second decision that changes Ben's life.

00:39They're holding on a restricted target.

00:42After a mission goes wrong, they strip him of his trident,

00:45and they're basically going to send him back home to face a court-martial.

00:50That's when the CIA recognizes this as an opportunity

00:52and swoops in to pull Ben Edwards into that world of espionage.

00:56What you did tells me that you're willing to do what it takes

01:00to make an actual difference, and I find that exciting.

01:04So Ben Edwards and Rafe Hastings, Tom Hopper's character,

01:07get brought in to the dark side of the CIA,

01:09where the rules of engagement are a little bit different.

01:12If we do this, I need to know that you can find the brakes.

01:16In a way, Rafe has his moral compass a little more in focus than Ben does.

01:22My father used to tell me that some men will go to war to fight the enemy,

01:25but others will seek war to fight themselves.

01:29This is where the show differentiates itself from Terminalist.

01:33You're seeing this black ops in the cities,

01:36in these dance clubs, in the streets, in the tunnels.

01:39That's a lot of fun to play.

01:44You'll see through the course of the season,

01:45when you enter the world of black ops,

01:47all of a sudden, the rules of engagement are blurry.

01:53Ben Edwards just leans into that

01:54because he wants to put bad guys on the ground.

01:57There is a repercussion to serving at this level,

02:00and I think Ben is going to show you that

02:02along with all these other characters in the show.
