Hi everyone just a quick video on why your radiator fan is constantly on. So we come
00:06
around here to this side of the engine bay if you look at the far corner over
00:09
there you'll see the radiator fan that is in that corner and it's not on at the moment so
00:15
if I unplug this connector here what you'll see is the fan has turned on over there and if I plug
00:22
it back in what you'll see is that fan stops again. So that plug because I know this car quite
00:29
well actually leads to this sensor down here so that little sensor there is the engine temperature
00:37
sensor so when I unplug the engine temperature sensor the ECU doesn't know whether the car is
00:43
hot or cold so it's better that the fan turns on it's better the car to run cold and inefficient on
00:48
fuel than it is for the car to run too hot overheat and probably blow your head gasket. So if your fan
00:56
is constantly on at all times whether your car is cold or warm then you're most likely 99% of the
01:03
time just like your engine temperature sensor has gone down. Most of them on a car are not too difficult
01:09
to change if you buy another one you can normally just unplug it and swap it over really quickly
01:14
without even draining the coolant off so if that's a symptom then you're almost certainly going to have
01:20
a dead engine temperature sensor. Hope that helps. See you next time.
