"Unwind alongside iconic singer, songwriter and actress Rita Ora as she whispers her way through her everyday makeup routine. From a scalp treatment that works overnight without a trace of oily residue, peppermint oil to “balance your brain cells,” and a well-earned tea break, Rita shares the beauty products she swears by and brings an authentic ASMR experience to InStyle's Hush & Brush series.
Rita applies her favorite Christian Dior concealer, then reaches for an ultra-soft brush from IT Cosmetics. She highlights and contours with her beloved Tom Ford palette (she promises it’s the only one you’ll ever need), and taps her way through “triggers” and cute heart hand gestures.
With a moisturizing blush as thoughtfully designed as it is beautiful, Rita invites you to slow down and sink into the sensory details. She reflects on her early days in London’s underground club scene, where drag queens and queer artistry inspired her love for transformation—and where makeup became a tool for confidence and self-expression.
From lip liner to luminous gloss, and a contour that’s never optional, Rita’s hush-toned routine offers a glimpse into the beauty favorites she truly loves—no sponsors, just staples.

00:00That's me knowing that I'm killing it.
00:07Hi, I'm Rita Warr and I am about to take you through my, I guess, ultimate products
00:17that I love when I get ready on my own for my makeup routine.
00:20Disclaimer, nothing is sponsored, this is just things that I like.
00:24I'm going to start off with my hair scalp treatment that I do every day.
00:34This is my Type B Leave In Overnight Peptide Serum Boosting Everything Great Hair Growing
00:48l'excellence. It is simple and it is effective.
00:56So, you take out a pipette and you'll have this incredible water-like texture.
01:14And you simply apply it on your scalp and it doesn't leave any oily residue because it's
01:28water-based. So, you put it in like that and you sort of like let it dry while you do your
01:39makeup. And you don't even need to wash it out. It's just like a nice thing for your
01:44hair to have some food during the day. You know what I mean? This is amazing.
01:52And then we start with some coverage. I live for this concealer stick, Christine Dior. And
02:06mine is in the shade 2.5N. This covers absolutely everything and it also doesn't like feel heavy
02:13makeup. Because I feel like sometimes my face is itchy from such heavy makeup. So, it's
02:20a little dirty because I use it every day. Pop goes the weasel. And I live for this brush.
02:38This is such a good brush. It's from It Cosmetics and like it just literally covers everything
02:45on your face. Concealer side and an all over side. So, what I do is...
02:53Okay, I have a little mirror there. I just kind of take it like that. And I'm gonna just
03:07like apply it to my blemishes. So, like see, it literally just lightly gets rid of them. And
03:17the other side is really good for sort of like blending blushes or whatever you have.
03:24It's just like an amazing all rounder. And it's not even that expensive. This is like
03:29don't sleep on It Cosmetics. This I found through my makeup artist. It's just really good and I
03:38love doing things on the go. Like I hate, hate setups. So, if you can do more than one thing,
03:45like I'm your best friend. Malt, I use products. I live for. So, this is really easy to carry.
03:52Travel size and everything. I love it. Now, I'm gonna go to something I've been using since
04:01literally when I started wearing makeup. The Holy Grail. This is a shade and illuminator palette by Tom Ford.
04:19This is an oldie but a goodie. Every single person should have this in their bag. It's amazing for like beach on the go.
04:29Everything. If you want to look glowy and like alive, this is your best friend. Literally, you can just live with this.
04:36Minus shade O2 intensity 2. Okay. Look how dirty it is. I use it every day. Well, I mean it's not that bad but...
05:01So, basically, this is the shade. This is the just highlight. Like, let me show you this highlighter. It is...
05:08So good. It looks like chewing gum. Like... Like it's heaven. I should be a makeup artist, I think.
05:20And it just highlights your face. And it's so good. Look at that.
05:27I already have some on, obviously, because I'm doing this but...
05:31Like, I live, live for this thing. And then this bottom one. I have some on but I'll show you.
05:37So you basically, like, rub it. Sometimes I put it on my hand because I don't want too much. Okay.
05:46Take the f- brush. Sorry. Take the brush. The go-to. And you dab, right?
05:53And then you just kind of... Slowly... I want a bit more. So I'm gonna go like that. Right?
06:02And then you just... It kind of shades your face, right? See that? And then see that?
06:10There's a difference. Now I've got to match it. I would usually do this under the powder but...
06:19Here we are. Alright. So then... Like, this on its own, without anything...
06:26I mean, I can talk about this palette for eternity.
06:29Did you know that Charlotte Tilbury actually helped to make this a thing?
06:34Little fact check for you guys. I discovered this a hundred years ago
06:40through my first makeup artist that I ever used. I've never been able to move away
06:45or met anything better than this palette.
07:02And then I have a break. And I use my Sage Peppermint Halo for a two-second, like, breather.
07:10Just to, like, you know, balance my brain cells. So...
07:27This is so satisfying. Ready?
07:31It's simply got peppermint oil in it. But, like, it wakes you up like no other.
07:36And you just...
07:46You roll it onto your hand or on your temples. But...
07:50I have makeup on right now. But you can do it wherever. Or on the back of your neck.
08:04And then you just breathe, baby. Ready?
08:07There's nothing like it. There's simple things. And then whatever. You can just put it on the back of your neck.
08:24Like, on your body. So you can just smell alive, you know?
08:29Anyway, that is a game changer. And it opens your nostrils, which is amazing.
08:38Okay, back to the makeup.
08:41Aromatherapy is a big part of my routine because it calms me down.
08:48It really wakes me up. Peppermint oil is like my best friend.
08:52It gets rid of my headaches and it just brings me back to the room.
09:00I do believe in scent and smells to really mentally bring your brain back to the present.
09:08It is a very simple but effective tool.
09:13That's me knowing that I'm killing it.
09:15Okay. Next up, I'm gonna clean it up for you guys.
09:23And for my friend, because it's her brand.
09:28And I love it. Not because she's my friend, but it's actually amazing.
09:33This is an Isamaya Double Dewar Blusher Highlight Palette.
09:38This is like a moisturizing makeup thing in a bottle, like on a palette, not bottle, but you know what I'm saying.
09:47Basically, she has a couple different colors, but this is my favorite one.
09:54And it's got this scripture in the back in braille.
09:58It has the shade color. I love the inclusivity of this product.
10:13This is my summer go-to.
10:15I kind of want to eat it.
10:30Okay.
10:32I really should have wiped all this stuff, but at least you know I use it.
10:35You know what I mean?
10:36This is it.
10:39It's basically like the best thing in the world.
10:42I'll show you, right?
10:43So this peachy color, it's so nice.
10:45It's like not too pink.
10:47And it looks like a flush, like you've just been in the sun.
10:51And it's super light as well.
10:54I'll actually show you now.
10:55Look.
10:57And then you like blend it.
11:01That's the difference.
11:03I don't even know if you can tell, but...
11:06It feels like it's such...
11:08It just wakes you up.
11:09And it looks like your skin.
11:12Like, are you kidding?
11:14And then I put some on my nose.
11:18And it's like I've been on the beach.
11:20And then this thing is like another version of a highlight, but...
11:23Whatever, I'll show you because I just put the Tom Ford on, but this is important to see.
11:27And I think, you know, I put on my eyelids and stuff.
11:36As you can see, I love things that do multiple things, right?
11:40So, that's another one of those.
11:42This is a great, great, great product.
11:44Should have a tea break.
11:45Should have a tea break.
11:46I love tea.
11:47I just love tea.
11:48Like, it's a game-changer.
11:49I love tea.
11:50I just love tea.
11:51Like, it's a game-changer.
11:53You know what?
11:55Aaaaaahhhhhh.
12:02I love tea.
12:03I just love tea.
12:05Like, it's a game-changer.
12:08love tea. Like, it's a game changer. Here we have a setting powder. I've basically shown
12:25you things that I feel like you can use for your whole face on the go. But you always
12:31need a setting powder. I mean, I do. I'm definitely on the shiny side, so.
12:38This is an Airbrush Flawless Finish Complex Perfecting Micro Powder by Charlotte Tilbury
12:44in the shade 2. Media.
13:02Sorry.
13:08Enough of that. This is just like a classic amazing powder. So, I use a sponge because
13:20I like it to really sit in my face.
13:21My raving club days really started my fascination with makeup because it was the underground
13:35gay drag scene that really introduced me to playing with characters and almost going out
13:47at night as somebody else. And so I really enjoyed that idea of being somebody else. And I would
13:56just play with my makeup and my hair and my wigs. And I got all that confidence from the
14:05LGBTQIA plus community where I would just study their confidence and performances. And I wanted
14:15to be like that. And so I started doing my own makeup. And you just blot it. Oops. You just
14:24blot it like that. It's good for just everything, honestly. I love this because I'm also like touching
14:31up my makeup as we go. So, it's great. Thank you, Charlotte.
14:37To wrap it up, I've got my lip liner. And I've got my Tom Ford lip gloss.
14:45I have to, I have to always contour my lip. But what's great about these MAC sort of things, yes,
14:51they're lip pencil, but I actually kind of use them sometimes all over. You're not supposed to,
14:56but all you are like, who cares with rules with makeup? You know, I kind of don't listen
15:01to those things. So, this is my lip liner. And it's in the shade Cool Spice by MAC, which
15:08is like a play on their original spice. But this is like warmer and it looks more like
15:13my lip color.
15:18Right.
15:18It's very important that I like to outline my lips so they look a bit fuller and go underneath
15:33like that. I've always got outside the lines with my lips. My mum used to do it back in
15:40the day. I always thought that is just how you would wear lip liner. I love it too, though.
15:46I feel like it makes the lips just feel a little sexy.
15:52My mum was a big part of my glamorous makeup journey. She would always wear Chanel No. 5
15:57and just never left the house without a lipstick or a lip gloss on. She said, even if you wear
16:03sun glasses and you put lipstick on, it feels like you've made an effort. Nobody wants to
16:08see a walking corpse.
16:09Okay, mum. Thanks for that. But now I understand what she meant. I would actually, sorry, just
16:19to finish, would put my lip liner over my lips, like all over, which is kind of what I've just
16:24done. And then you have this like matte finish. And I've left this part for you guys because
16:33I know it's kind of satisfying. I kind of like it matte though. I'll just show you since
16:38we're here. But this is a really yummy Tom Ford lip gloss in the shade Gloss Luxe 08 Inhibition.
16:51Okay.
16:52I'm going to put it on for you. That was very good. One more time. Take that as you will.
17:18Okay.
17:19It actually looks pretty good. I feel like I should have done this whole thing with lip gloss
17:37on. Anyway, here we are now. It's a good lip shade. I actually think that's it. Oh, I
17:49have tweezers. Cause like every woman needs tweezers. Every woman needs tweezers. These mini
17:54tweezers are so cute. Look. So they come in this like little bag. And you just kind of...
18:12I'm like, I hate hair on my face. So I'm like an on the go hair removal type of girl. So
18:18I just kind of like quickly do it. Whatever I see, no matter where I am. And these little
18:25minis are so cute. Oh. I can do this all day. Okay. I think that's it. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.
18:32I've got another blush. But we don't need to do that, do we?
18:39Oh, this is good blush though. It's not good. No, it's good blush though.
18:57do we? Oh, this is a good nosh though. It's new. It's really good. Actually, I'll show
19:11you. This is Charlotte Tilbury again. At this point, she should be paying me, but here we
19:18are. This is Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick in the shade Peachy Glow. As you can see,
19:29I'm a peachy type of girl. And so, yeah, everything feels a little peachy, a bit warmer because
19:35I have that kind of skin. So, yeah. I think that's it, guys. Thank you so much for listening
19:42and watching. I'm Rita Ora and these were some of my favourite things. Bye. Wait. I'm doing
19:55every single hand gesture I've seen online. Damn it. Wait. Is it that? Is it that? I want
20:11to see you all post a picture of you meeting me like that. I hope I'm doing that right.
20:19This is my new fave. Cute. This is a heart. It's like the smallest, cutest heart they do
20:26in Korea. I've just watched Hunters and Demons and it's like my new obsession on Netflix and
20:31all that there. If you watch it, you'll die. It's so good. It's so cute. The soundtrack is
20:36unbelievable. And this is what they do. I think I'm doing it right. I don't know what this
20:57is, but this is the new thing. Okay. You get it. I love you guys.
21:01Once, I'm doing shit on. One, two, four. Two, four. Two, five. T生, deux,
21:06four, five. T生. Two, six,
21:11six, six, eight, four. Two, six. Eight, four.
21:13One, two, six, five, 16, ol maths, six, seven, six, seven, seven, seven, six, thirteen.
21:18Two, six, seven, and six. Okay.
21:20Two, seven, seven, seven, seven, seven, two, eight, eight, seven, seven, eight, ten.
21:22Three, nine, seven, nine, four, five, six, um, Six, six.
