00:00Hello, I'm Jill Buchanan, the editor of the Falkirk Keralt, and I'm here to tell you about some of the stories that are making the headlines in our print edition, which is on sale now.
00:09We'll lead on the news about the protests which took place last weekend outside a former Cladden Hotel, where asylum seekers are currently being housed by the Home Office.
00:18A local group, Save Our Future and Our Kids' Future, organised the protests to highlight issues of community safety.
00:25While stand-up to racism, Falkirk Trade Union's council and local residents have organised a counter-protest.
00:33A second protest has been organised and will take place on August 30th.
00:39An 82-year-old man has said a heartfelt thanks to four mystery good Samaritans who came to his aid in Pullman when he was taken unwell in the heat.
00:47We've got details of how Grangemouth shone in the sunshine when Britain and Bloom judges were in town and met members of the Glitter team.
00:56And people in the Port Town are being urged to have their say on the draft master plan for the town centre's future.
01:03There was a welcome donation for a Labyrinth and Stennis Muir community group when they received £1,500 of fuel, courtesy of ASDA.
01:12We reveal that the £6.2 million deal to sell Falkirk's former town hall and HQ site has fallen through, and the land in West Bridge Street is going back on the market.
01:22There are also picture galleries on the 80th anniversary of Victory in Japan events which took place across the district, and a visit by school pupils to discover more about the history of the 4th and Clyde Canal.
01:35Which leads us to local historian Ian Scott, who in our retro section looks at the villages west of Bonnybridge.
01:43In sport, Stennis Muir manager Gary Neesmith gives his squad praise for overcoming Inverness at the weekend to make it three wins in a week.
01:50While Falkirk boss John McGlynn says he needs to make three more signings.
01:55Falkirk Vicks were in the medals when they took part in the National Track and Field Championships in Aberdeen at the weekend.
