00:00I'll see you next time.
00:30Wesley if we can just stop you there. Hello sir how are you? I'm good thank you. So we're here in the lovely grounds of Bridgenorth Castle Park. We are indeed. And what's happening? I can see Shire Folk on your top. What's going on?
00:44So it's the Bridgenorth Music and Arts Festival in its 17th year which is absolutely amazing. And we're here in the Castle Gardens. Today we're starting off with Ben Spicer doing an amazing pub quiz. And we've got so many different prizes for that. And then because so many of the businesses have just given so much to support the festival. And then we move on to music throughout the day. And then at six o'clock we've got a Kayleigh going on. Yeah here in the park. Here in the park. Oh great.
01:13Calling it from on the stage and we'll be dancing all around the van stand which is really exciting. Awesome work. And then it continues on tomorrow as well. It does indeed. So tomorrow we move the whole festival over to the high street. We've got a big stage coming. A much bigger PA. And music all the way through starting at 12 through till 6. And then we've got stalls. We've got food. We've got some crafty things going on. And then all the pubs across Bridgenorth are doing something. I mean the whole night is just going to be.
01:42The whole town is going to be buzzing. So is Shire Folk. Is that the organising team behind it?
01:47So Shire Folk is me and Jen. And so we're a not-for-profit to try and promote more access to the arts within rural communities. Particularly Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
01:58And so we're sort of doing a lot of the original organising. And then we've got this amazing team of volunteers who come in. As you can see they're all around us building things.
02:07And we're doing some training with technicians. So we've got five young technicians with us today.
02:13And we've done a couple of days training last week. And then they're going to be let loose on the equipment this weekend.
02:19And then on Monday we move the whole thing again down to the quayside.
02:24Where we start with a drum workshop. Everybody can just come along with Ronnie Prudence and get stuck in with the drums.
02:29And again music all the way through the day. The bar day is done by the Bassett Villa. There's going to be hog roast.
02:35And there's even like a silversmithing workshop going on just across the road.
02:39So yeah there's a hive of activity done there. We try and move it across all areas of this beautiful town.
02:45Awesome. And 17 years it's been going?
02:4717 years.
02:47How long have you been involved?
02:49Since 2010. So this is our 15th year. But obviously there's a couple of years where we just don't talk about those.
02:54Yeah yeah. Well thank you for everyone that puts the hard work in. I mean these bandstands they're made to be singing aren't they?
03:02You know what I mean?
03:03Yeah exactly. It's lovely to see it come alive. And then to see just to turn around later in the day.
03:07And we've got the weather on our side.
03:09Yeah.
03:09If you know it's just going to be full of families having a great free access to the arts.
03:14Which is you know which is what we want.
03:16There's so many musicians. It's supporting grassroots musicians all on their way up.
03:21And they're just so much talent out there.
03:24Awesome. Awesome. Play us out with another little jingle dangle.
03:27Oh I'm so... I'm going to do the same thing.
03:30Oh I'm so... I love you.
