00:00:01And at the top of this hour, we're getting some breaking news.
00:00:04Indian Envoy Talks stuff on Russia oil deal asserts India will buy oil where it gets the best deal.
00:00:11Indian Envoy to Russia says that will protect national interest.
00:00:15Now, this remark comes amid Donald Trump's tariff threat for Russia oil deal.
00:00:20Now, remember, earlier Donald Trump had imposed 25% tariff on India
00:00:24and there was another 25% tariff that was imposed because of India's Russia oil deal.
00:00:31And amid the tariff drought that has been going on between India and US,
00:00:36Indian Envoy has talked tough on the Russia oil deal by saying that India will buy oil where it gets the best deal.
00:00:44And India Today Global's Pranay Upadhyay is now joining us with more details on this.
00:00:48Pranay Indian Envoy has given out a clear message that India will continue to buy oil from Russia
00:00:54and it will buy oil wherever it gets the best deal.
00:01:00Indeed Anjali, not only Indian Envoy, Vinay Kumar from Moscow has given this message
00:01:05that India will keep buying Russian oil or the oil which wherever it is available
00:01:10because this is related to India's energy security.
00:01:13But this is also an extension of what Indian Foreign Minister, Indian External Affairs Minister,
00:01:18Dr. S. Jashankar has been saying.
00:01:20This is what the government of India has also indicated
00:01:22because the oil purchase is related to India's energy security.
00:01:27India is one of the big energy importers in the world
00:01:31and therefore it is important for India to ensure the steady supply of oil resources,
00:01:37the crude oil for India.
00:01:39And this is important for our growth trajectory.
00:01:42And the Russian oil which India is buying is as per the price cap
00:01:49which has been imposed by the Western countries including US and the European Union.
00:01:54And India is not only buying that oil but also India has made it clear many times
00:02:01that India's oil purchase is also in a way helping the global oil prices to be stabilized.
00:02:07And this is what was acknowledged by the previous US administration of President Joe Biden and his team.
00:02:14Now the US has changed its perception and its stance.
00:02:19And President Donald Trump and his administration has imposed additional tariffs on India
00:02:24and so as to put pressure.
00:02:26And also there is a duplicity of policy
00:02:28because India is not the biggest purchaser of Russian oil or the Russian gas.
00:02:33China is the biggest importer of Russian oil.
00:02:37Europe, EU, European Union is the biggest importer of the Russian gas.
00:02:43But US or the Trump administration is not doing anything.
00:02:48On one side China has got the tariff truce of 90 days
00:02:52and the second extension is ongoing which was offered by the United States and China.
00:02:58Also EU is enjoying all the benefits while India is being targeted for buying Russian oil.
00:03:04So this clearly shows that how the Trump administration is targeting India.
00:03:10Absolutely. Pranay do stay with us.
00:03:12We are getting some more inputs.
00:03:13And US Vice President J.D. Vance said that US President Donald Trump has applied aggressive economic leverage
00:03:28such as secondary tariffs on India to force Russia to stop bombing Ukraine.
00:03:33This is the remark that is coming to the fore by US Vice President J.D. Vance reacting on the tariffs imposed by US on India.
00:03:41The Trump administration has been highly critical of India for its procurement of discounted crude oil from Russia.
00:03:48And hence J.D. Vance has said that secondary tariffs on India are aggressive economic leverage to force Russia to stop the war with Ukraine.
00:03:59Pranay Upadhyay continues to stay with us.
00:04:01Pranay, is it right to impose tariff on a third country like India for the actions of countries like Russia?
00:04:09Is it an effective way?
00:04:12This remains a larger question, Anjali.
00:04:14And if it has been an effective way, then it should have yielded some results.
00:04:19Because so far, there has been no impact as far as the battleground or the conflict zone of Russia, Ukraine is concerned.
00:04:27We have seen the intensified conflict, intensified attacks between, you know, both these countries.
00:04:33And we have seen that even after the Alaska summit, even after the Washington, D.C. meeting and so-called peace efforts of President Donald Trump and his intention.
00:04:45No one is denying that President Donald Trump wants the war to stop, he wants a ceasefire, he wants this war to stop.
00:04:55But the measures he is taking, especially the tariff leverage he is trying to, or the economic leverage he is trying to assert and to get a peace deal from Moscow,
00:05:06this is very highly unlikely that it is going to yield some result as far as the Russia-Ukraine conflict is concerned.
00:05:15On the other side, this is certainly impacting India-U.S. ties because we have seen that, you know, the India-U.S. ties have strained.
00:05:26And what U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has said, this is only an extension of what President Donald Trump has said or his administration is, you know, maintaining.
00:05:37We have seen the statement by the U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson, U.S. Trade Advisor Peter Navarro.
00:05:45And U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has only extended the same argument that this is an effort by U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration
00:05:53to get an economic leverage over Moscow and pressurizing them to stop this war.
00:05:59Right. Pranay, thank you so much for getting us all those details and context.
00:06:03We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on the story.
00:06:09Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange attacks three and a half years on,
00:06:13with U.S. mediation having achieved no concrete results so far.
00:06:18Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is now likely to visit India soon,
00:06:21With Putin's trip to New Delhi also expected later this year,
00:06:25there is hope that Prime Minister Modi's shuttle diplomacy can now be a step towards peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
00:06:31More on this in our next report.
00:06:33Donald Trump's mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine have so far failed to culminate to a tangible step
00:06:49in ending the three and a half year long war.
00:06:51As Ukraine celebrated Independence Day, Russia claimed its Kursk nuclear power plant was hit by Ukrainian drones,
00:07:05further escalating tensions between the two nations.
00:07:07With no sight of a concrete peace deal, even after historic meetings, all eyes have now turned to India.
00:07:20It's a very historical day for all of the Ukrainians.
00:07:23Ukrainian envoy to India has indicated that an India visit for President Vladimir Zelensky is in the works.
00:07:29The Prime Minister invited President Zelensky to come to India.
00:07:38So now the both sides are working on this and definitely we expected to have the President Zelensky in India,
00:07:47which will be another great interaction and great achievement in our bilateral relationship.
00:07:54Russian President Vladimir Putin is also set to visit India later this year, reigniting hopes for peace.
00:08:04We are very excited and delighted to learn about the visit of His Excellency the President of Russia,
00:08:15President Putin to India.
00:08:18I think that the dates are almost finalized now.
00:08:22New Delhi's shuttle diplomacy is back to the fore, a year after Prime Minister Modi's twin visits to Moscow and Kiev.
00:08:31While visiting Ukraine in August last year, PM Modi told Zelensky that he came as a friend and pledged to play his role toward peace.
00:08:39His Excellency today, when I have come to Ukraine, I have come with the feelings and sentiments of 1.4 billion people of India.
00:08:48And their sentiments are inspired by humanity.
00:08:51So coming to the land of Ukraine, I have come with the message of peace.
00:08:56Only six weeks prior to his Ukraine visit, Modi made a trip to Moscow,
00:09:01where Putin thanked him for trying to help find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis.
00:09:09And I'm grateful to you for the attention that you pay to the most pressing, most urgent matters.
00:09:18And you're trying to find ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, among other things, obviously in a peaceful way.
00:09:28Over the years, India has not only maintained decades-old ties with Russia,
00:09:34but has also promoted diplomatic dialogue with Ukraine, building on its credibility as a neutral mediator.
00:09:42India's balanced relationship with both warring parties can pave the way for a diplomatic victory.
00:09:48But as Washington exerts increased pressure on New Delhi to take a stronger stance against Moscow,
00:09:55can India continue to maintain its delicate balancing act?
00:09:59Bureau Report, India Today.
00:10:01And we're now getting some breaking news.
00:10:13Big breakthrough in the Delhi Chief Minister attack case.
00:10:16Now, cops have arrested attacker Rajesh's friend from Rajkot.
00:10:21Rajesh's friend booked for attempt to murder.
00:10:24The probe reveals the friend sent money to Rajesh.
00:10:26And as per sources, Rajesh and his friend conspired knife attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
00:10:33So, that's the big breaking news that's coming in as far as the Delhi Chief Minister attack case is concerned.
00:10:39My colleague Arvind Doja is now joining us with more details on this.
00:10:42Arvind, can you tell us exactly what role was Rajesh's friend in this case?
00:10:49Arvind, can you tell us what role was Rajesh's friend in this case?
00:11:19Arvind, can you tell us what role was founded in this case?
00:11:37Delhi Police has been arrested in conspiracy cases and has been asked for it.
00:11:43Not only the Delhi Police, but also the IB and the special cell team have been asked for it.
00:11:48But this is a big deal after the interrogation, Anjali.
00:11:52Yes, Arvind, thank you very much for all your knowledge.
00:11:55So there's a big breakthrough in the Delhi Chief Minister attack case.
00:11:57And as per sources, we're also learning that in fact a knife attack was planned on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
00:12:03And now the cops have arrested another person who's the friend of attacker Rajesh.
00:12:13And now shifting focus, a shocking dowry murder has left the nation reeling.
00:12:18And public outrage grows.
00:12:19The probe into Nikki's dowry murder case has picked up pace.
00:12:23The main accused in the case, her husband Vipin Bhati, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
00:12:29His mother, Dayavati, has also been napped by the cops.
00:12:32However, Nikki's father-in-law and brother-in-law remain absconding.
00:12:36The father of the dowry victim has demanded the hanging of all the accused.
00:12:40He has also claimed that Vipin's mother is behind the entire conspiracy and that she encouraged his son's abusive behaviour instead of correcting him.
00:12:49Meanwhile, NCW has taken cognizance of the incident and has called for immediate arrests of all the accused.
00:12:55The National Women's Body has directed the Uttar Pradesh Top Corp to submit a detailed action report within three days
00:13:01and has urged the state administration to protect Nikki's family and key eyewitnesses.
00:13:07Earlier, horrifying videos emerged showing Nikki being set on fire while Ashshi walked down the stairs.
00:13:12She was set ablaze in front of her own son who has confirmed that flammable substance was poured onto her before she was set on fire using a lighter.
00:13:21She was set ablaze in front of her husband.
00:13:51She was set ablaze in front of her husband where she cried a child.
00:13:53She was set ablaze in front of her husband.
00:13:55She is at the office.
00:13:55She has granted a house.
00:13:56Her husband used to be elected.
00:13:58In the country's household, there are women who are not identical between the two people's mother-in-law-in-law-in-law.

00:15:00and shifting
00:15:02focus the Kerala Government has invited
00:15:04Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MkStalin
00:15:06to the global Ayappa Sangamam
00:15:08at Pampa next month sparking a
00:15:10massive controversy. The BJP
00:15:12has now gone all guns placing at the
00:15:14Kerala Government over this decision.
00:15:16State BJP chief Rajiv Chandrasekhar likened the move to Hitler celebrating Jews,
00:15:21accusing the left of abusing Sabrimala traditions
00:15:24and slamming Stalin's son over anti-Sanathan remarks.
00:15:28The BJP called it the highest hypocrisy and a full-time ploy to mislead the people.
00:15:33The attacks have come in a day after Kerala's Deva Swarm minister
00:15:37formally invited M.K. Stalin to the September 20th event
00:15:41to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayvichan.
00:15:46They repeatedly insult the Hindu sentiments, not only himself
00:15:52and his son said Sanathan Dharam is like a virus.
00:15:58It should be crushed like Dengu.
00:16:02But what is his answer for these things?
00:16:04They are telling, they are claiming thousands of Kumbhabi Shekham they have conducted.
00:16:08Not even a single Kumbhabi Shekham Stalin has attended.
00:16:11Stalin has not gone to any temple where more than 35,000 temples are in Tamil Nadu.
00:16:19So how can he be invited and how can he accept?
00:16:24Because Pinarayvichan may be ignorant about Stalin.
00:16:29But how can he accept? He is not accepting any Hindu faith festival in Tamil Nadu.
00:16:32And shifting focus after the India bloc's VP candidate,
00:16:38Sudarshan Reddy met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin,
00:16:41both tore into the BJP, accusing it of threatening the constitution
00:16:44and the federalism in our country.
00:16:47Stalin said that the BJP is hurting the state while posing as guardians of Tamil pride.
00:16:52Backing India bloc's VP pick, he said Justice Reddy is needed to defend a constitution under threat
00:16:57and charged the BJP with misusing agencies and branding a former judge a Naxal.
00:17:04In turn, Justice Sudarshan Reddy has praised Tamil Nadu as a leader in health, education and federal vision.
00:17:11He warned that the centre's policies could reduce states to mere municipalities.
00:17:16The last four or five days, ever since my name has cropped up as a candidate
00:17:25on behalf of the opposition political parties,
00:17:30what made you to come into this ticket of political arena
00:17:38since you were not concerned with the politics in any of your previous life.
00:17:48I may not belong to any political party.
00:17:51True.
00:17:53I don't belong to any political party.
00:17:55I don't intend to join any political party.
00:18:00But to say that I have nothing to do with politics would amount to saying
00:18:04that I have nothing to do with democracy.
00:18:08And now shifting focus, two months after the Kolkata Law College rape horror,
00:18:13a charge sheet has been filed against the accused which confirms rape
00:18:17and also unveils several chilling details of the crime.
00:18:20The 650 paid charge sheet names four accused,
00:18:23including crime accused Monajeet Mishra, who is a sacked TMC leader.
00:18:27Two other co-accuses, Zayb Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee,
00:18:30as well as the college security guard Pinaki Benerji,
00:18:33have also been named in the charge sheet.
00:18:35The medical report has confirmed rape with the DNA of the accused
00:18:39matching the forensic samples.
00:18:41Now, a CCTV footage of the incident has also been recovered,
00:18:44which shows the victim being dragged and held hostage.
00:18:48The charge sheet also says that Monajeet had made multiple videos of the victim
00:18:52and was blackmailing her with them.
00:18:54The obscene videos recovered from the phones of the accused
00:18:57were secretly shot through an exhaust fan.
00:19:00The voices in those clips matches the voice samples of the accused.
00:19:08And now shifting focus, heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in the northern part of India.
00:19:13From Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan, the downpour has thrown daily life out of gear.
00:19:18Here's a closer look at how cities across the nation are reeling under the impact of rainfall.
00:19:22Heavy rains have triggered flooding in the Katwa district of Jammu and Kashmir,
00:19:26submerging low-lying areas.
00:19:28Torrential rain has severely damaged a bridge in Katwa.
00:19:31Yet despite the danger, people continue to drive over the collapsed structure,
00:19:35risking their lives.
00:19:36A cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district has triggered a scene of devastation.
00:19:47A flash flood that followed the cloudburst washed away a rain shelter and a building.
00:19:52Large trees were also swept away by the strong current.
00:19:55Himachal's Chamba district has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past 24 hours,
00:20:00leading to the disruption of the connectivity.
00:20:02Rajasthan, Savai Madhupur has been battered by relentless rain.
00:20:10In the visuals on your screens, a car is seen getting stuck in the heavy floodwaters.
00:20:16The car was, however, later pulled out by a tractor amid the strong current.
00:20:20All three inside the car were fortunately rescued by nearby locals.
00:20:24And not just Savai Madhupur, Rajasthan's Sikar district is also witnessing heavy rainfall.
00:20:33The relentless downpour has led to waterlogging in several areas,
00:20:36severely affecting daily life and forcing residents to risk their lives just to meet basic needs.
00:20:42The Mage River in Rajasthan's Bundi district is in full spate.
00:20:50The visuals on your screen show the river overflowing its banks with floodwaters entering towns across the district.
00:20:56As the water level continues to rise, residents have been forced to move to safer locations.
00:21:02It is end of an era as India's modern-day wall in Chateshwara Pujhara had called time on his 15-year-long career.
00:21:10After his retirement, my colleague Rona caught up with Pujhara for a conversation listening to this India Today exclusive.

00:21:36the OGs of Indian Cricket in which you have been, Rohit Teviraat, what will you say about your fans?
00:21:41We have played the Cricket in the game very memorable.
00:21:47The team's production is very good.
00:21:50The young players are also very good.
00:21:54We have recently seen the series in England that young players are performing as well.
00:21:59In the future, the young players will be able to handle it in all formats.
00:22:08For IPL, the players are looking at the wide-ball format.
00:22:14The players are also performing well in the test format.
00:22:18The future is in the hands of the team.
00:22:20Hopefully, the team's production will be the same.
00:22:24As an Indian Cricketer, what is your favorite memory?
00:22:45As an Indian Cricketer, what is your favorite memory?
00:22:48What was your favorite memory in 2018?
00:22:50In 2018, the team, the Australian soil team, the first test series was very memorable.
00:22:54It was very memorable for me.
00:22:57In 2021, the Australian soil team, the second test series was also very close.
00:23:02The two series were very close.
00:23:05The two series were also very close.
00:23:07I would like to find out better performance in the league.
00:23:14How did you get into the team?
00:23:22Could you give a call for your first team?
00:23:24This was my personal call. I decided that this is the right time when young players should get the opportunity to get the opportunity in domestic cricket.
00:23:35I thought that maybe I'll play the run-gy season, but I thought that if they get the opportunity to get the young players, they'll be ready soon.
00:23:44This was my personal call. If I don't want to talk about Bharathia team, I don't want to talk much about that.
00:23:54But for me, this is a very memorable day.
00:23:57And the time that we've been suffering from Bharathia team, we've had so many matches, such a big series.
00:24:04And the Bharathia team's production has a lot of interest in me.
00:24:09And at the top of this hour, we're getting some breaking news.
00:24:13Ex-judges write to Home Minister Amit Shah for his Salwa Jadum remark.
00:24:17After Home Minister Amit Shah said that opposition VP pick Reddy supports Naxalism,
00:24:23the ex-judges have written to Home Minister Amit Shah saying that the remark is unfortunate.
00:24:27And they have written this open letter to Amit Shah.
00:24:32This letter is written by the ex-judges and the lawyers regarding the Salwa Jadum verdict
00:24:37and the statement which was made by Achim Shah over the judgment which was passed by the opposition's VP pick Sudarshan Reddy.
00:24:48And Home Minister Amit Shah has accused the opposition VP pick Reddy of supporting Naxalism through this Salwa Jadum judgment.
00:24:58I think Justice Nagar Ratna, Honorable Justice Nagar Ratna and two are another judge.
00:25:09They said, we don't disturb this judgment, but we don't do anything further.
00:25:17They don't do anything further.
00:25:18You keep those comments from one another.
00:25:20That's the best case.
00:25:21You keep that choice.
00:25:22Then it's rough to one another.
00:25:23Or the Supreme Court statement of Naxalavadi how much does it go for me?
00:25:28Because they're building narrative and it's right to them to have narrative built.
00:25:35And I'm studying in this case, I don't deliver it.
00:25:44and my colleague anisha mathur is now joining us on the story anisha could you give us more
00:25:51details about this open letter that has been written by the ex-judges and the lawyers to
00:25:55home minister amit shah and the exact remark which was made by amit shah that you know led
00:26:00to this open letter well see anjali we've seen this open letter coming in from a former supreme
00:26:07court and high court judges as well as senior lawyers who are clearly saying that this kind
00:26:12of narrative building this kind of misinterpretation of a supreme court verdict will have a chilling
00:26:18effect on the judiciary and also as a senior minister as a union minister the home minister
00:26:23this will have a such kind of remarks will have a very negative effect on how people perceive the
00:26:29judiciary on how things are done in the country what is also important to understand anjali is
00:26:35that the 2011 verdict where the salvajudum was outlawed by a two-judge bench of the supreme court
00:26:41had gone into serious allegations of violence against civilians violence against villagers in
00:26:48these particular villages on multiple complaints being filed and that is where the supreme court had
00:26:54said that use of private militias use of private persons as militias as paramilitary forces cannot be
00:27:02allowed and now these judges are saying that by saying that this kind of a verdict supports
00:27:07nationalism amit shah is building a complete a completely false narrative which is not good
00:27:13for the country for democracy and it is also going to have a chilling effect on the judiciary because
00:27:19judges are meant to criticize the government judges are supposed to particularly high court and supreme court
00:27:26judges are supposed to look into the policies that have been created by the executive and look into
00:27:32their legality their constitutional validity so if on such a judgment the home minister no less of a
00:27:39country then attacks the judiciary that sends a very very negative effect and he's or the judges have
00:27:45also said that this because of this being a vice presidential election such kind of statement such kind of
00:27:51misinterpretation of judicial findings is inappropriate and there needs to be and this kind of statement
00:27:59making needs to be kept out of the vice presidential election as well particularly since there is a
00:28:05verdict of the supreme court or based on constitutional and legal principles involved right that year
00:28:12in fact anisha the rebuttal that has come from sudarshan ready's side is that it was a supreme court
00:28:17judgment and not his personal uh opinion well you see anjali if you look at what has been said and what the
00:28:25judgment says the uh the judgment had gone as i said the judgment had gone into the allegations of
00:28:34violence against civilians by persons who had been earlier uh maoists and then had come back and then
00:28:41who were being used as special police operatives which is something that the supreme court noted
00:28:46was completely illegal completely unconstitutional because you're effectively giving
00:28:50uh the power to conduct violence against civilians to uh to people who are not otherwise authorized to
00:28:58do so also because there are limitations and safeguards when it comes to actions undertaken by police or
00:29:05paramilitary forces particularly in civilian areas but these the these persons were not following those
00:29:12guidelines and safeguards and therefore the supreme court had said that the use of such uh spos against the
00:29:19uh even against the alleged mouse was completely illegal because the safeguards that are meant to
00:29:26protect civilians that are meant to protect people were not involved now with the home minister in a
00:29:32vice presidential election attacking a judgment that had come out in 2011 we are in 2025 right now
00:29:39and calling a judgment like this support to nuxilism that is where these uh ex-judges and lawyers are
00:29:46saying that this kind of statements is inappropriate both in terms of the vice presidential election and
00:29:52in terms of the effect that it will it will have on the judiciary they said that the discourse that is
00:29:58around this uh uh election the discourse that is around a former judge who's standing as a candidate for
00:30:04this election should be based or should be civil discourse it should not go into this kind of
00:30:11misinterpretation of a court verdict back to you all right anisha thank you so much for getting us
00:30:18all those details and for that context on the open letter that has been written by the ex-judges
00:30:24and lawyers to home minister amit shah over his remark on the salvajatum verdict

00:36:40The father of the dowry victim has demanded the hanging of all the accused.
00:36:44He has also claimed that Vipin's mother is behind the entire conspiracy
00:36:48and that it was the mother-in-law that encouraged his son's abusive behavior instead of correcting him.
00:36:55Meanwhile, NCW has taken cognizance of the incident and has called for immediate arrest of all the accused.

00:46:36How many more ghastly dowry murders before India's daughters are safe?
00:46:49With Arvind Dojha and Sher Chatterjee, Bureau Report, India Today.
00:46:56A young mother set ablaze allegedly by her own husband and in-laws.
00:47:01Nikki's story is not just about dowry or betrayal.
00:47:04It's about a system that failed her at every step.
00:47:07A disturbing reminder of the violence many women still face behind closed doors.
00:47:11Take a look at this report to know what all Nikki endured during her 9 years of marriage.
00:47:23Married in December 2016, Nikki had a son and dreams.
00:47:30But her life ended in flames.
00:47:35Burnt alive allegedly by the very people who promised to protect her.
00:47:44Images of the 28-year-old engulfed in flame stunned India.
00:47:50Nikki faced years of unspeakable savagery over dowry at the hands of her husband and in-laws.
00:48:01India watched with stunned disbelief as video of a shrieking Nikki set on fire stumbling
00:48:06down the stairs surfaced.
00:48:12Another video also shot by Nikki's sister who is also married in the same household shows
00:48:17her being beaten and dragged by her hair by her shirtless husband.
00:48:23All the while her screams echoed through the air.
00:48:29One of the most gut-wrenching testimonies came from Nikki's own 7-year-old son who saw his
00:48:35mother being set ablaze.
00:48:49Nikki was rushed to hospital but she didn't survive.
00:48:52Her sister Kanchan married into the same family says she and Nikki were tortured for dowry
00:49:03even after giving a Scorpio SUV, bullet bike and cash.
00:49:08Her family was under pressure to give a Mercedes car and pay several lakhs more.
00:49:13The, first of all, the
00:49:40Nikki's family says they tried police complaints, panchayat meetings, but nothing worked.
00:50:10Apart from torture, Nikki faced infidelity from husband Vipin Bhati, who is an alleged womanizer.
00:50:31He was caught with another woman in public in 2024 and was beaten up.
00:50:36This isn't just one woman's story, it's the reality faced by many.
00:51:02Nikki deserved safety, love and respect.
00:51:09Let her story be the last of its kind.
00:51:12Bureau Report, India Today.
00:51:42Congress and the activists who are backing illegals in the state of Assam.
00:51:47So there's a massive showdown over Assam eviction drive.
00:51:50Now, Congress Neta has backed illegal Bangladeshis in Assam, after which Assam Chief Minister Himanta Viswasarma tore into the Congress for backing the illegals in the state.
00:52:00We're going to be talking about this.
00:52:06The first mandate and the first mandate is a big issue.
00:52:10This is the main issue that we have all the states and the people who are getting involved.

00:53:12What is the purpose of Bangladesh?
00:53:15Bangladesh is also human.
00:53:17The world is so big,
00:53:19Bangladesh is also here.
00:53:22It's not being deprived of someone's rights.
00:53:24It's saying that it's being deprived of someone's rights.
00:53:28It's a very troublesome and extremely mischievous and very detrimental to humanity.
00:53:40If you understand this government,
00:53:43this is a common crime.
00:53:45And Allah, God, God, and Guru will never forgive this.
00:53:53And my colleague Indrajeet Kundo is now joining us with more details on this.
00:53:57Indrajeet, in fact, a rather shocking remark that has been made by Sahida Hamid backing the
00:54:03illegal Bangladeshi is in the state of Assam while this eviction drive is on.
00:54:07Well, absolutely. You know, there is a delegation of human rights activists who are in Assam right now.
00:54:14And they're, of course, proposing the kind of eviction drive that has been conducted by the Assam government.
00:54:22In fact, we've heard Assam Chief Minister Hemanto Biswasarma on several occasions speaking out in favor of such drives,
00:54:29saying that the government is trying to free government land of encroachment.
00:54:34So while on one hand these rights activists are in Assam and they're trying to highlight the
00:54:41flight of some people who are Indian citizens but maybe facing evictions and, you know, are getting homeless.
00:54:49But in a way to do that, Hamida Saeed, of course, in fact, she's a former member of the planning commission.
00:54:56She has ended up suggesting or supporting, in fact, illegal immigration, illegal infiltration from across Bangladesh,
00:55:05saying that they too have human rights.
00:55:08Now, that, of course, has caused a massive terror in Assam.
00:55:13And it is all, in a sense, detrimental to the very cause for which this team of human rights activists,
00:55:19which includes Prashant Bhutan and the likes of Harsh Nandez, who are there in Assam,
00:55:24they have been put in quite a spot of bother.
00:55:27All right, Indraji, do stay with us. We're now being joined by BJP's Tom Vadakhan on the story.
00:55:31Mr. Vadakhan, a very good morning to you.
00:55:33So, amid the eviction drive that is underway in the state of Assam, we have this remark coming to the fore by Saeeda Hamid,
00:55:41who is a former member of the planning commission under the Congress government,
00:55:44saying that Bangladeshis have all the right to stay in the state of Assam.
00:55:49They are also humans who have been made by Allah, and hence that gives them the right to stay in Assam.
00:55:55Your reaction?
00:55:59Close the door.
00:56:00Yes, this is the ecosystem of the Congress Party and the India Alliance speaking.
00:56:06Why don't they go and preach to Donald Trump to keep all the aliens and others there and do service to Indians there?
00:56:16Now, the fact of the matter is you can't have foreigners living in our country.
00:56:21We pay taxes to ensure that there are certain basic benefits available for the citizens.
00:56:27You can't have foreign nationals. If they are so much in love with them,
00:56:31let them adopt them and keep them in their houses and do the needful.
00:56:35So, I mean, this is ridiculous. This lady has gone there, part of the ecosystem, and asking the government to keep them where they are.
00:56:45It doesn't work. We in India need Indians. Let's be clear on that.
00:56:51And that is the government's agenda too. India first. And that is the line we will always take, because foreigners can't vote.
00:57:01The objective is to change the democratic status of the state and ensure the victory of certain political parties.
00:57:11And that's the game plan. There's no love for anybody. It's purely vote-bank politics that they are playing,
00:57:19so that these elements who have been given residence in these areas, vote for them. That's all to it.
00:57:28In fact, Mr. Wadakhan, do you also think invoking religious sentiments like,
00:57:33Allah made earth for all the humans, further complicates the Indian legal framework for citizenship and immigration?
00:57:42Well, this is all a cover-up. I'm telling you very clearly. This is all a cover-up. These are people who they believe will vote for them.
00:57:49This is their vote-bank. And if the demographic structure is changed, they are losers, because Indians realize where their interest lies.
00:57:59And these foreign elements have nothing to do with India. They just vote for survival.
00:58:06And they will vote to the party that tries to protect them. That is the whole game. And that is what they are there.
00:58:12And this lady, especially being from a particular community, is going to preach Allah there.
00:58:18They have been praying to Allah, right? They don't need Hamid, the planning commission, former planning commission member, to preach further.
00:58:27We all realize humanity is something that we all respect. But let them be in their own country, you know?
00:58:35All right, Mr. Tom Wadakhan, thank you so much for speaking to India today and for your views on this matter.
00:58:41With that, we're now shifting focus. We're getting some more breaking news.
00:58:45And before that, let's once again listen in to what Sayida Hamid said on the Bangladeshi illegals in Islam.
00:58:53What are the reasons for the Bangladeshi?
00:58:55What are the reasons for the Bangladeshi?
00:58:57Oh, the Bangladeshi is also a human.
00:58:58The world is so big.
00:59:00The Bangladeshi can be here.
00:59:03It is not being deprived of the right people.
00:59:05It is not being deprived of the right people.
00:59:06It is saying that it is being deprived of the right people.
00:59:09It is a very, very troublesome and extremely mischievous and very detrimental to humanity.
00:59:21If you understand this government, this is a common crime.
00:59:26And Allah, the Lord, the Lord, the Guru, will never forgive us.
00:59:32And we have some breaking news coming in from the state of Tamil Nadu, where an ambulance crew called for rescue attacked in EPS campaign.
00:59:47Now, this particular news coming to the fore from Tiruchirapalli, where an ambulance crew was called for rescuing a man who had collapsed.
00:59:55But the same ambulance came under attack in the AIDM case campaign.
01:00:00Now, EPS, who is the general secretary of AIDMK, held his campaign at Manachanalur, Thurayur and Musiri.
01:00:08And before he could reach Thurayur, a large crowd had gathered.
01:00:12However, a 108 ambulance was reportedly called claiming that a man had collapsed near Athur Road.
01:00:19And the ambulance had attempted to navigate through the crowd when the driver and technician came under attack.
01:00:25So, that's the breaking news that's coming in from the state of Tamil Nadu, where an ambulance crew was called for rescue.
01:00:33And it was attacked during EPS campaign.
01:00:38Let's listen in to what the ambulance driver had to say.
01:00:41Now, the ambulance came and looked at is the same place in front of the hotel.
01:00:49Now, the ambulance came into the hospital and took their call.
01:00:54It was underarmament, and the ambulance came in the hospital and was outside.
01:00:58The ambulance came in the hospital and arrived.
01:01:00You received a Police Department in the hospital, the ambulance came in the hospital.
01:01:04I told him that he had to go home to the other day.
01:01:11The other guy told him that he had to go home,
01:01:18he had to go home and leave him alone.
01:01:25If you don't want to, you don't want to be able to do it.
01:01:30If you don't want to, you don't want to be able to do it.
01:01:55But empty ambulances are being sent to his campaign trails to just disrupt this campaign.
01:02:00And that didn't go well because the ambulance customers very clearly mentioned that they do not have any other place to go to
01:02:05because the campaign trails are appearing on very important roads, large, wide roads,
01:02:10which are generally taken by campaign ambulances.
01:02:13And the other side roads are also completely covered with people, so they do not have any other option.
01:02:17What happened yesterday is that, in the same way, just like you mentioned,
01:02:21in Sitchi district, Metapartee K. Parishwami was campaigning at that point.
01:02:25The ambulance driver claimed that he got a fault.
01:02:28About one person who had come for the campaign itself has collapsed.
01:02:31They went over there to rescue them.
01:02:33But, you know, the crowd, which was earlier instigated by EPS,
01:02:38said that next time an empty ambulance goes to the campaign trail,
01:02:41the occupants of the ambulance will become patient.
01:02:44And apparently you could see the visual how the crowd had reacted to it.
01:02:47They claimed that the ambulance was empty even before the patient could be taken in the ambulance.
01:02:52And Shubhan Shushukla has reached Lucknow, his hometown.
01:03:10So, Group Captain Shubhan Shushukla is finally in Lucknow.
01:03:13He has landed.
01:03:14These are the live visuals from the airport where he has landed.
01:03:18Remember Lucknow is his hometown.
01:03:20The city is all decked up to welcome its son with open arms.
01:03:25And Shubhan Shushukla is finally in his hometown.
01:03:28So, these are the visuals of Group Captain Shubhan Shushukla after arriving in Lucknow.
01:03:33And this is his hometown.
01:03:35A lot of preparations have been made in the city.
01:03:38In fact, the road leading to his home is also being reconstructed.
01:03:43The work is in full swing outside his residence.
01:03:46And he has finally landed in Lucknow and will now be heading towards his home.
01:03:56So, these are the visuals from Lucknow where Shubhan Shushukla has landed.
01:04:00And Lucknow is rolling out the red carpet for the star astronaut Shubhan Shushukla, the group captain,
01:04:10who has now finally landed in Lucknow, his hometown.
01:04:13And it's a grand welcome for him at the airport.
01:04:17These are the visuals from Lucknow Airport where Shubhan Shushukla has landed.
01:04:22And a lot of preparations have been done across the city.
01:04:26In fact, the road leading to Shubhan Shushukla's residence at Triveni Nagar locality was also paved with cement overnight.
01:04:33And hoardings were put across the city at several crossings in the town welcoming Shukla.
01:04:40So, Shubhan Shushukla is now in Lucknow, his hometown.
01:04:44He has landed at the airport. These are the live visuals.
01:04:47And my colleague Samarth is now joining us with more details on this.
01:04:53Samarth, Shubhan Shushukla is finally in Lucknow. What next?
01:05:01Well, exactly, I must tell you that he has met Brijesh Patrik, the deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh at the airport and also met family.
01:05:09So, it's a long time because he hasn't seen his mother.
01:05:13Because when the father and sisters reached Delhi, mother was unwell.
01:05:17So, it was quite an emotional moment for Shubhan Shushukla for meeting his mother after a long, long time.
01:05:23Because he hasn't met her since he was in America.
01:05:27So, it was a big thing here.
01:05:28So, the current update from Lucknow here is that Shubhan Shushukla has reached at the Lucknow Airport.
01:05:34And now, he will be heading towards the G20 Chauraha from where that particular road show will start.
01:05:40And later, he will meet with the CMS auditorium where a short and brief response will happen.
01:05:44And thereafter, you will see that another thing happening.
01:05:47He will be meeting UP CM Yogi Adityanath at the CM Abbas.
01:05:50And then, it will be an official program of the UP government where CM Yogi will be there along with the India star astronaut Shubhan Shushukla.
01:05:58And he will also address the media there also along with CM Yogi Adityanath.
01:06:03So, it's quite an exciting movement for Lucknowice as they have been there.
01:06:06As you see in the visuals, a lot of national flags waving all around the airport.
01:06:11The flower, the petals, everything, the bands welcoming Shubhan Shushukla.
01:06:14Even the kids in the nire of astronauts are welcoming Shubhan Shushukla as Shubhan Shushukla has become an inspiration for millions and billions.
01:06:22Back to you.
01:06:23Right.
01:06:24So, will Shubhan Shushukla not visit his residence in Lucknow?
01:06:28No, he hasn't been allowed to visit the residence due to security reasons.
01:06:36He will be staying in Lucknow for one or two days but at the government guest house.
01:06:40So, that has been the confirmation being given by the family that yes, family can meet Shubhan Shushukla.
01:06:45Mother, father and sister, the close relatives can meet Shubhan Shushukla but not at the residence from where we were reporting since months.
01:06:52Yes, he is allowed at the guest house, the state guest house where the family will be allowed even to stay with him.
01:06:58That's what we are getting from the sources but no, he will not be allowed to visit the home because it's more about the security.
01:07:04He has got the Z plus security as we are getting from the sources.
01:07:06So, it's going to be very tough for them as well if he stays at his residence.
01:07:10So, he will not be allowed to stay at his residence but will be there at the place, at the guest house where the family will be meeting him again and again.
01:07:18Right, and also give us more details about the victory parade you were talking about from where will it start and till where will it go.
01:07:30I mean exactly, what we are getting that a school is organizing this victory parade where Shubhan Shushukla studied till class 12 and more than 60,000 students will be gathering at that Jai T 24 from where the road show, what we say a victory parade will be started.
01:07:46Shubhan Shushukla will be there in an open jeep welcoming and also thanking the people of Lucknow and also the students who in a way cheered for Shubhan Shushukla when he was going to the space, taking the national flag.
01:07:58So, that's a bigger thing for them as well because for children, for students, he has become an inspiration out here.
01:08:03So, that's a bigger deal for them and that's why they are gathering in large numbers to welcome.
01:08:08So, we can expect in the next 15 to 20 minutes the victory parade will be starting from G24 and it will be around 2 kilometers range.
01:08:16where the Jai T 24 will stop and later he will move to the CMS school where he will be welcomed.
01:08:23Alright, Samarth, do stay with us.
01:08:25So, these are the visuals coming in from the Lucknow Airport where Shubhan Shushukla has landed.
01:08:32He was received by U.P. Deputy Chief Minister Rajesh Patak. Let's listen in.
01:08:37Thank you very much.
01:09:02He is doing this.
01:09:04And we will run there.
01:09:32We will be joining the U.P. Deputy Chief Minister Rajesh Patak, who we just now heard calling it a historic moment for Lucknow.
01:09:39In fact, for the entire nation, Shubhan Shushukla has made the entire nation proud.
01:09:43And he is in Lucknow for two days now.
01:09:46He will also be meeting U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Aditannath.
01:09:50But in the next 15 minutes, his victory parade will be starting.
01:09:55Samath continues to stay with us with more on this.
01:09:59Samath, what are the kind of security arrangements that have been made in the city?
01:10:07See, we were at the airport and a lot of security personnel were there who were also accepting the entry of the normal people.
01:10:14Because, yes, we saw many people with a national flag, but they belong to the rolling party.
01:10:18So, the security personnel and just the media were allowed.
01:10:21But when he will be reaching the G20 road from where the victory parade will be starting, I don't think that there would be much resistance from the police to the public.
01:10:30Because the road show is all about public and Shubhan Shushuk will be there just to thank the entire public for their entire support throughout the journey when he reached the space.
01:10:39So, yes, security is very tight because Shubhan Shushuk is now a national pride.
01:10:44He is just not a normal Air Force captain or a Lucknowite.
01:10:48So, he is a national pride now.
01:10:50And also what we are getting that he has got the Z-plus security as well.
01:10:53So, these are the things.
01:10:55But yes, for family, for mother, he is just his son.
01:10:58For father, he is just his son.
01:10:59So, that's an emotional moment when we saw what we are seeing.
01:11:02In the picture, the mother is looking at Shubhan Shushuk.
01:11:05You can clearly get the glimpse of the exclusive picture which India Today TV has currently accessed.
01:11:10The mother looking at Shubhan Shushuk, his son, after a long, long time because she did not go to Delhi due to her medical conditions.
01:11:19So, it's quite an emotional moment.
01:11:21But if you talk about the victory parade, we are also heading towards that particular place.
01:11:25And we will be showing you the visuals from there where more than 60,000 students will be there to welcome Shubhan Shushukla in the victory parade.
01:11:33Right.
01:11:34Samarth, also when can we expect the meeting with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath?
01:11:44Well, exactly.
01:11:45After the program at the school and also a short, after a brief press conference,
01:11:49he will be meeting CM Yogi Adityanath at his residence 5 Kalidas mark around 3 or 3.30 PM.
01:11:54After spending an hour maybe with CM Yogi, he will be reaching the local government for an official program of UP government.
01:12:01Where also, UP CM Yogi Adityanath will be there along with Shubhan Shushuk.
01:12:04You can expect CM Yogi Adityanath sitting next to Shubhan Shushukla and also addressing the gathering,
01:12:09talking about Shubhan Shushukla and his struggles throughout from day one to day two, like how he cleared the NDA.
01:12:14Interestingly, how he went to the exam of NDA when her older sister was getting married,
01:12:22without telling the family he went to give the exam of NDA.
01:12:25So, these were the struggles made by Shubhan Shushukla throughout.
01:12:28And CM Yogi Adityanath, you can expect him giving an example of Shubhan Shushukla to reach the greater heights,
01:12:33as PM Modi has already said, that this is not the end for India, this is just the start of the Gaganyan mission.
01:12:40Back to you.
01:12:41Absolutely.
01:12:42Samarth, thank you for those details.
01:12:43We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
01:12:48And ISRO successfully completed its first integrated airdrop test for the Gaganyan mission,
01:12:54a major milestone toward India's first human spaceflight program.
01:12:57The test demonstrated the parachute-based deceleration system designed to ensure astronauts' safe return to Earth,
01:13:05validating both safety mechanisms and system integration.
01:13:09We'll leave you with these visuals.
