00:00I was holding my breath, that whole submarine sequence.

00:02Was that a crazy one for you to experience in the movie theater?

00:05Yeah, I watched it for the second time last night.

00:08And I found, I think the first time I watched it, we were in Tokyo.

00:13We were really jet lagged.

00:14We were really overwhelmed because we were nervous.

00:17We hadn't seen it yet.

00:18It was our first time.

00:19And we watched it and it kind of like, you know, we walked out dazed.

00:22And I couldn't remember it.

00:24I just knew I liked it.

00:25The second time I watched it, I felt so involved in it.

00:29You know, I know I am literally involved in it, but watching it, it was so, so immersive.

00:36And that sequence, the way that McHugh scores that sequence, his idea was that you can't

00:42have an orchestra underwater.

00:44So all the sound in the underwater sequences has to be something you could hear underwater.

00:49So he uses these Russian throat singers and this mega bass thing.

00:54It's so incredible.

00:56And then you have the revolver, the way when the sub is turning around, we had this insane

01:00gimbal on set, like nothing you've ever seen.

01:03And, you know, torpedoes falling everywhere.

01:06It's it.

01:07I looked at my daughter who was watching it with me and she watched the whole thing with

01:11her head in her hands and her eyes wide open and her mouth open.

01:14And it was, you know, true, true, raw cinema.

01:19It was fantastic.

01:20I remember being on set and seeing the scale of what they were doing, what they were setting

01:26out to achieve and seeing also his suit and his training for it and the extra training

01:32he had to do for this particular sequence.

01:34And to see the kind of dedication of bettering himself, like every movie for him is a new

01:40mountain to climb where he wants to top what he did last time.

01:44It's a testament to how committed he is to developing himself as an actor and as a producer.

01:48But then getting the chance to see it as an audience member, I get the I get the joy of

01:55not having to do it myself.

01:56And just being able to go, I was there.

02:00I can see that it's all up on the screen.

02:02He's so dedicated and it's phenomenal what he's able to achieve.

02:07And it's all for the sake of thrilling an audience.

02:09Yeah, I was.

02:11Yeah, to see that because that's all fresh, you know, fresh eyes, you know, seeing these

02:16images for the first time and everything that's going on, it really like ups the stress level

02:22of what, you know, Erica's going through on on her side.

02:25So they, you know, the stress, you know, is a height on both ends, you know, like, will

02:31he make it?

02:32Will I make it?

02:34But so I really love that.
