Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Tianjin, China after attending the National Day 2025 celebration at Dataran Putrajaya earlier on Sunday (Aug 31), to kick-start a four-day working visit to China.

00:23Anwar is in China, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the Shanghai
00:30Cooperation Organization, or SCO Summit.
00:34The couple headed directly to the summit's gala dinner, hosted by Xi and attended by some
00:4020 world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra
00:46Modi.
00:47On Monday, Anwar will deliver remarks at the SCO Plus Summit, underscoring Malaysia's
00:53commitment to positioning both the country and ASEAN as a dynamic hub for trade and investment.
01:01Malaysia's participation in the summit demonstrates its efforts to deepen ASEAN-SCO relations and
01:08promote its role as a bridge between ASEAN and SCO member states.
01:13Anwar will also deliver a public lecture entitled, Sovereign Interdependence, Building a Shared
01:19Future in Asia, at Tianjin University.
01:22Anwar is expected to pay a courtesy call on Xi, followed by a bilateral meeting with Premier
01:28Li Qiang in Beijing on Tuesday.
01:31Anwar is scheduled to attend the Victory Day Parade to mark 80 years after the end of World
01:36War II at Tiananmen Square on Wednesday.
