00:00Was there any hesitation when they called you to do the show?

00:02Not this year.

00:03In the past.

00:03Okay, I was going to say, so how many times have you been asked to do the show?

00:05You know what?

00:06I honestly couldn't tell you.

00:08It's been a few times.

00:09It's been a few times.

00:10And there was just always something that wasn't right about it.

00:13And I really do believe that when the timing is right, you'll know.

00:16And this year, when the call came in, it was like the fastest yes ever.

00:21After last year having cancer, I just realized, like, I'm not having enough fun or I'm not experiencing enough joy.

00:27And the minute this call came in, it sounded like exactly that.

00:30Joy and fun wrapped up into a three-month experience.

00:33So it's been a week, and that's exactly what it's been, joy and fun.

00:36Sign me up immediately.

00:37We're so glad that you're doing well.

00:39Yes!

00:39And, I mean, what has it been like getting on the dance floor after going through what you've been through health-wise this past year?

00:45It's been really, really remarkable.

00:47It's pretty crazy, like, what a year can do.

00:49You know, I remember this time last year I was recovering from my second surgery and about to start radiation.

00:54And now this year, I'm incredibly healthy, I feel really great, and I'm having the time of my life on the dance floor.

01:01So I can't wait for everybody to see what we've been working hard on.

01:03I love that so much.

01:04Have rehearsals been harder than you thought it was going to be?

01:06Is this, like, totally different than you thought it was going to be?

01:08It's not totally different because I expected it to be hard.

01:11Sure.

01:11And I was like, I'm just going to fully commit to it.

01:13I'm going to show up.

01:15I will say it's more fun than I thought it was going to be because I thought there would probably be days that I would be like,

01:20Oh, my God, I can't believe I have to do this again.

01:22I haven't felt that way.

01:23I've literally woken up every day like, can't wait to get to rehearsal.

01:26So I hope it continues for the whole season that way because this has been a joy.

01:29For people that know you as Topanga, what do you want them to know about you, Danielle, this season?

01:35I mean, Topanga and Danielle are really not that dissimilar.

01:39I always just describe Topanga as being on the other side of Danielle's heart.

01:43But I think, no, I was going to say Danielle may be more competitive, but nope, Topanga was pretty darn competitive.

01:49So I'm not really sure where our differences are.

01:51Yeah.

01:52Has Sabrina Carpenter given you any tips for getting out on the dance floor?

01:55I actually wrote to Sabrina and I said, I'm going to have to study all your performances to try to soak up some of your charisma.

02:00And she said, Danielle, you have all the natural charisma you need.

02:02And I was like, that's my girl.
