00:11Daily essentials like hair oil, toilet soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, tableware and kitchen
00:16wear will now attract just 5% GST down from 18%.
00:20Essentials like milk, paneer and all types of Indian breads including parathas are now
00:26exempt from GST, falling from 5% to 0%.
00:29Malt, pasta, cornflakes, biscuits and even chocolates and cocoa products will see rates
00:36reduced to 5%.
00:3833 life-saving drugs and medicines, earlier tags at 12% will now be exempt.
00:44Cement, a key construction input has been brought down from 28% to 18%, significantly reducing
00:51building costs.
00:52Air conditioners, dish washing machines and TVs above 32 inches drop from 28% to 18%.
00:59All TVs, regardless of size, now attract 18%.
01:05Small cars and motorcycles below 350cc along with 3 wheelers move from 28% to 18%.
01:11Patrol cars under 1200cc and diesel cars under 1500cc are down to 18%.

01:18The GST council has introduced a new 40% slab for sin and luxury goods.

01:33The new 40% slab will also apply to paan masala, cigarettes, gutka and bidis.
01:38GST will now be levied on the retail price of paan masala and tobacco instead of the wholesale

01:45A-rated drinks with added sugar, carbonated and caffeinated beverages and fruit-based non-alcoholic
01:51drinks are also going to be taxed at 40%.
