John Mayer Dialed In
Transcript
00:00So this is the watch in question?
00:01That's the watch in question.
00:03And when I first saw their rendering, when I saw AP's rendering,
00:07I thought this is like looking straight up into the night sky
00:10and these four sub-dials kind of appear from the heavens.
00:15And it really is like when you look down at your watch,
00:19you're looking up at the sky.
00:21And my favorite dials, I've said this before,
00:23are the ones you can't stop looking at.
00:25And I'm right in assuming that every facet of this sort of,
00:29I mean there must be a thousand facets on this surface,
00:32have been hand-finished before it was PVD coated.
00:35It's actually a stamped brass dial.
00:38So it's actually a stamp.
00:41As to whether it's been hand-finished,
00:42I don't think it's been hand-finished on the microscopic level.
00:45But what's interesting about it is that all of the crystals
00:48are kind of facing a different axis.
00:51So the play of light is extreme and really tight
00:55and kind of different under any light source.
00:57And that's what's really fun.
00:58It's very chameleon-like.
00:59It makes me want to...
01:00That's amazing.
01:02I have a lot of pictures on my phone.
01:04Sort of like having a baby.
01:06And it's just all baby pictures in your phone.
01:08Yeah.
01:09I have a lot of baby pictures of this watch
01:10because I'm still trying to get the perfect iPhone pick.
01:14Because it's one of those things,
01:15sometimes I think if something is beautiful enough,
01:17it evades photography.
01:18Mm-hmm.
01:19And this is one of those watches
01:21that I think there's an extra 10% to 15% wow factor
01:25when you see it in person.
