00:00Mark your calendars. On the 9th of 7th September, the skies are putting on a breathtaking show.
00:06A total lunar eclipse, also called the Blood Moon.
00:10But let's understand why does the moon turn red?
00:12During total lunar eclipse, Earth slides perfectly between the sun and the moon, casting its shadow.
00:19Our atmosphere bends sunlight, filtering out blue light and letting only deep red and orange tones paint the moon.
00:27That's why it glows like fire.
00:30And that's why it's called the famous Blood Moon Effect.
00:33Well, let me tell you, this eclipse is one of the most widely visible in years.
00:37Nearly 85% of the world can catch it, especially across India, Asia, Western Australia.
00:45So from Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai to Kolkata, the Blood Moon will rise high in the sky and everyone can watch it.
