00:00Sleeping Beauty is the story of a princess trapped by a curse.
00:03whom he caused to enter into an eternal sleep that only a kiss of love can free.
00:07The story is inspired by the tale by Charles Perrault, published in 1697,
00:11which itself is inspired by a tale called Sun, Moon and Thalia by Giambattitza Basil,
00:16which tells relatively the same thing, but not at all with the same bias.
00:20In this tale, a young girl, a young princess, has also suffered a curse
00:24and falls into a deep sleep, which this time is due, not to a...
00:28to a pike, there, I still don't remember the name,
00:31but to a flax splinter that gets stuck in his finger.
00:36That already hurts a lot, so that already sucks.
00:39And so she falls into a deep sleep, she stays there for years and years,
00:43the castle becomes abandoned, that she is still there, you see.
00:45And one day, a neighboring king, who was hunting in the forest,
00:49decides to enter this castle, to visit the rooms, and comes across this young princess.
00:53And when he comes across her, he's going to do something that the author describes as
00:57carried her to a bed where he plucked the sweet fruits of love before leaving.
01:01Basically, he rapes a sleeping minor and leaves.
01:04Fact story, huh.
01:05Nine months later, the princess is still asleep, but gives birth to two children.
01:09One of the two kids, visibly very lucid, sucks his finger.
01:13and pulls out the splinters she had stuck in it, what.
01:15So there, the princess wakes up and she comes across the two kids, what.
01:19And about everything that is involved in childbirth, anyway, I'm not going to go into details.
01:23At that moment, the guy, he comes back without knowing that she is awake, so I'll let you guess why he comes back,
01:28finally it's filthy.
01:29And he comes across the awakened girl and the babies he decides to name Sun and Moon.
01:33Because what's more, he writes poetry, that big bastard.
01:36So there he realizes he has kids and he promises the princess he'll come back.
01:39Except that the king is married.
01:41And his wife realized he was a kind of big pig, you know.
01:44But the problem is that his wife, the queen, is as crazy as he is.
01:47She decides to bring the young princess to the castle with her children.
01:50She sets a trap for him, takes away his babies and decides to kill them, cook them to serve them to the king, in order to take revenge.
01:57Except that at that moment, the cook feels a little sorry for them, you see, they're babies, you know.
02:03So he doesn't want to cook babies, you see.
02:05The guy, when he got out of culinary school, he didn't think he was going to cook babies.
02:08So the guy says no, I'm not going to do that.
02:10I swear I'm not making this up.
02:11The queen also decides, in addition to all this, to have the young princess burned.
02:15Except the king realizes it.
02:17So, well, actually, the guy is pissed, so he actually saves the princess and burns the queen at the stake instead.
02:23And from there, well, the princess marries the king and lives happily ever after with a psychopath.
02:29Without any trauma, of course, from everything that happened, eh, it's... there you go.
02:33So this is what Sleeping Beauty was born from.
02:35Knowing that the moral of this vile tale is...
02:38To the lucky, good comes while sleeping.
02:40I'll leave you to ponder that.
