00:00HOA is asking us not to be with our kids at the bus stop.
00:03Yup, read that right.
00:05Our neighborhood has a designated area that bus picks up the kids at.
00:09Some people park their cars, down the street, and wait for the bus.
00:13Some people just let their kids stand there and others stand there with their kids.
00:17The HOA sent a letter that no parents are to be waiting at the stop,
00:21no matter it be standing or parked.
00:23We don't want adults loitering at the bus stop.
00:25This is due to people complaining that it's uncomfortable
00:28having people outside their homes blocking their mailbox
00:30and the residents have had trouble with some of the children.
00:33They followed it up with,
00:35Our neighborhood is safe.
00:37You should feel safe leaving your kids at the bus stop.
00:39I decided to post a couple things that clarify some things.
00:43And the HOA wasn't too happy.
00:45First, the stop is outside my house and I haven't complained.
00:49And if I did, less supervision would mean more problems with the children.
00:53Second was clarifying exactly our neighborhood safety.
00:56Across the street was a six-hour armed standoff
01:00that resulted in him only being under house arrest,
01:02so he's still around.
01:04We have three registered sex offenders.
01:06And what's this?
01:07The HOA president himself was fired for allegations
01:10of 27 different sexual crimes against minors,
01:13three of which were family members.
01:15I clarified it was back in the 1990s and he never served time,
01:19but it's still ironic he's telling us we should feel safe.
01:22I ended with the post on if they push the issue.
01:24All parents are invited to my house during drop-off and pick-up times.
01:29This changes nothing about their behavior,
01:31but they're considered guests of the landowner.
01:34I got an email saying please take the post down from the HOA.
01:38I don't deal with the HOA, so I went petty and didn't respond.
01:42Instead, screenshot it to the post.
01:44We will see if anything else happens.
01:46I am really curious about how they think they'll enforce the policy,
01:49especially being that none of the parents
01:51have altered their behavior on the bus stop.
