The Trump administration said that it had launched an immigration enforcement action in Chicago and other parts of Illinois dubbed "Operation Midway Blitz," but the scope of the operation was unclear and the state's Democratic governor said he was in the dark. 00:15We're here out in beautiful Chicago to come out here and do an operational surge in which we're calling it Operation Midway Blitz.

00:26We're always here and we operate here in Chicagoland area.

00:30We have our offices here and in the state of Illinois and in other states surrounding Illinois.

00:36We're out here doing our operations with our surge.

00:40Mainly because to catch the criminal alien population, that sanctuary city policies attract these criminal aliens.

00:47We want to get them out of the city, make the public safe, help with national security,

00:54and to make sure that everybody in this community is safe no matter what they feel or how their political views.

01:02We're here to make everybody safe.

01:04So far it's been successful. We have successfully arrested some criminal aliens over the last few days.

01:09We just began our surge. We're going to be bringing in our partners, our other DHS partners, DOJ partners, CBP partners coming in.

01:19So they'll be coming in and participating in this isolate operation.

01:23We're enforcing the Immigration and Nationality Act, the laws of the United States, and we do it ethically and we do it legally.

01:29And we're out here every day making sure that the community is safe.
