00:34And on this Saturday we are now also looking forward to next Saturday

00:48Next Saturday is the Classic Car and Supercar Show

00:54You being our roving reporter Kev, you'll know what it's called properly, is that right?
00:58Yeah, I think it is called the Classic Car Show

01:02And it's Burnley, it's Burnley's town centre's massive classic car show event
01:06Now you do know a little bit about cars
01:08Being part of your career as a works rally driver
01:11Have to get it in, because you're very humble and you don't normally
01:14But what that brings to the show normally is when you go out on your roving reports
01:20And you speak to the drivers of these cars, you ask some great questions
01:24And it gets that engagement, that interest back for people who are just wandering through
01:29It's great as a car show if you just wander through and you go, wow, look at that
01:33It's an Austin Healey or look at that, it's a whatever
01:36But when you get that extra level of information that you extract out the owners
01:40It makes it a better event overall
01:43Yeah, it does and let's just tee up the event first of all
01:46It's from 11 o'clock, it's Saturday the 13th
01:48We've got 90 classic vehicles coming to Burnley town centre
01:52The cars are spread out through the town centre
01:54It's a very interactive motor show
01:57You know, some shows can be a bit elitist
01:59The cars are parked over, you can't get anywhere near
02:01But this is a town centre experience
02:03Which basically means that owners are up for a chat
02:06And that gives me a great opening from the off
02:08To be able to go and meet the owners, meet the family sometimes
02:12Because often owning a classic car is a big family experience
02:15And then we get to know a lot more about the cars
02:17And working with Radio Burnley gives us a great opportunity to then spread that word
02:21Through the PA system and also live on the radio
02:24So yeah, meeting these people is going to be great
02:26We'll be there obviously providing the entertainment, a bit of music
02:30But again, using the PA system so that everybody that's just meandering amongst all the cars
02:36Gets to hear what you're talking about as well
02:38And that little bit of information I think makes for a better event
02:42Yeah, and this is also part of Cultural Heritage Week
02:46Which Charlotte's going to tell us about, hopefully I introduce that right
02:49But yeah, in September there's the car show which is going to be a great event for me
02:53Because I'm a passionate car enthusiast
02:55I'll even be bringing my son's rally car down and one of my own classic cars
02:59But as far as the town is concerned, in September we're celebrating an awful lot of the town's heritage
03:05That's right, so Heritage Open Days is a national event
03:09But every year in Burnley we celebrate that as well
03:12And it's officially from the 12th to the 21st of September
03:15Though I think we've got a few extra things going on around as well
03:18We like to be different, don't we?
03:20But we're also very proud of our local heritage as well
03:23And there's some fantastic venues and talks and walks and events taking place
03:28And some, or many, very accessible from the town centre
03:31So the Mechanics Theatre for example
03:33And also the various canal side historical locations
03:38But Jack, give us a quick insight that you've been hosting an event for the last 5 weeks
03:43Right here in the town centre
03:45Yeah, I've been hosting the Not A Shop in Charter Walk
03:49And yeah, we've just opened the doors to people coming in, experimenting creatively
03:54Doing a doodle door, we've made a welcome mat
03:57And we're also here with Radio Burnley for the playlist as well that we've been creating
04:02Yeah, and that playlist, music's great to be mixing music and cars
04:06I love those two things together
04:08We'll go back to Lee in a sec
04:09But I can't leave you two without actually asking you
04:11What's your passion as far as motoring is concerned?
04:14What car have you got? Why did you choose that car, Charlotte?
04:18I've got a Kia Picanto
04:21And that's a good car for me because it's small and I can't knock the wing mirrors off easily
04:28And if you had a dream car, what would it be?
04:31I'll come back to you in a sec, I'm going to ask Jack that same question
04:34I love Minis, Minis are my absolute favourite all-time car
04:38I had the privilege of having a convertible one for a few years ago
04:42But yeah, I'm currently in a Peugeot looking to upgrade
04:46So if Mini is out there, do you want to get in touch?
04:49I did notice last year there was one or two local dealers bringing brand new cars
04:52The MGs were here last year which looked great
04:54So there might be some ways that you could upgrade your car during the event
04:58The audience in the background actually cheered when you said Mini
05:01I could see various people nodding in the background
05:04So a lot of people love Minis
05:06Lee, we know a lot about you but we don't know what's your favourite car
05:09And that'll be hard because you're a man that's owned a lot in your motoring history
05:13There is one and I try and stay away from the ridiculous
05:18You know like, oh I'd like to own a Ferrari whatever
05:20No, just real world, one day I'd like an RS6 Avant
05:24You know the Audi estate that's got the performance
05:28It's got that level of luxury
05:30Just a little bit out of my bracket at the minute
05:33You could buy an older one, they're becoming cheaper
05:35As long as you can insure them and you're a man of a certain age
05:37You'll probably get classic car insurance, just see

05:46And you know, I think just to have an aspirational car that's your favourite

09:01And a special Jurassic meet and greet
09:04There's also a free face painter, free family car, friendly trail with prizes and free crazy golf
