00:00they're comfortably in the postseason they got 15 games to go ish 16 i think it is
00:06are you happy with their direction are you happy with where they are given yeah this has been a
00:12fun season mike yes i hate to admit it yeah i don't want to give credit to that front office
00:19i kind of despise their methods but they're the same methods that go on throughout baseball for
00:23the most part maybe save for your brewers okay do you want part two of the question sure are you
00:28confident in their ability to keep it there uh no no no i'm wondering what the hesitation was for
00:36no trick question i mean it's no there's a couple examples orioles the latest yep teams that you
00:44look at look at the roster and how they built through the system and you say they're primed
00:47to be the team for the next five years and then stuff happens and they're not arizona just went
00:52to the world series they have some nice young players there they're kind of just whatever
00:55again so i'll tell you what pushed me i sort of but can i just go back to the first part yeah
01:01yeah i'm satisfied with you know to me this year was about making the postseason and there is
01:07definitely a foundation going forward both field players and who could have predicted it but on the
01:13pitching staff exactly and it's like again they haven't spent enough i'm worried about that level
01:21uh and i'll burn that bridge when i get to it meaning we'll address the lack of spending when it
01:27but where they are right now yeah i feel good about it if i'm a red sox fan and you should be
01:34encouraged about where they're it looks like they're headed so for me in the last couple of weeks
01:38this development of or this arrival of toley and the kid the other night got me to a level where
01:46i said oh well this changes things a little bit like i feel like that was sort of a major development
01:52because think about it they have an ace they have a guy who right now looks like a number two in bayo
01:58and both of those guys are in their mid-20s and they're signed for the long term so you don't have
02:04a hole at the front end of your rotation now the way you did a year ago in fact not only have you filled
02:10one spot you've kind of filled two so that means that totally whatever he is can be a number three
02:16starter or four starter and you're fine same thing with the kid who pitched the other night
02:21giolito honestly you can take him or leave him i don't even care because he's a little on the
02:26he's older than some of those other guys it could be a free agent at the end of the year
02:29and all probability will be but there's no guarantee those guys will stay what they are
02:36as is the case with most pitchers and anthony's hurt myers hurt campbell's been up and down and
02:44now in triple a now they've moved him to another position now you're poking holes in the what is
02:49the consensus question you feel good about where they're at yeah there yeah intentionally put the
02:55tone on it i'm just telling you that it's no guarantee do i like where they are yes
