where we are at the moment is the platforms are feeding on not just news musicians intellectual
00:14
property but on all creators intellectual property and there's something to be said for
00:21
recompense for work done I was a songwriter and that was my sole source of bread and butter and
00:31
if I can't get recompense for that what is the point of doing it so that's one of the issues that
00:38
the transparency issue is a big one where
00:44
AI platforms are not acknowledging the use of intellectual property that's owned by others
00:54
they're not paying for that IP and we think that's not right what's more important like while that's
01:03
going on is the recognition of what culture is it's it's already been demonstrated that
01:12
platform AI platforms are very clever and they can develop a song I saw Tina Arena on
01:20
TV the other night and they played her a sample of an AI derived Tina Arena voice singing a song
01:30
and apart from the fact that she looked totally sick when she heard it which I can totally identify
01:37
with it sounded like Tina but it wasn't Tina and this is the crux of the importance of culture
01:45
culture represents who we are it comes from our very inner core the essence of who we are and
01:55
we are developing songwriters painters writers photographers are developing
02:02
um our culture all the time and representing our culture and an AI machine cannot do that an AI machine can
02:13
can develop something but it's completely devoid of the essence of who we are and so the other worry
02:23
about apart from um compensation is and recognition is where does our culture come from in 5, 10, 15 years
02:35
if the government don't put these transparency measures in place
