00:00We'll kick off with Sky.
00:02Hello.
00:04Talk to us about that Zubramendi guy, is that something you've been teaching him on the training?
00:08Certainly no. Zero credit for that.
00:11Incredible execution, the timing, the way he connects with the ball
00:15and the way the ball travels in that trajectory.
00:18Certainly he's given us a lot of positive things,
00:22his presence, his authority on the pitch,
00:25the way he connects with the players and that composure that he's having.
00:29If you start to add assists and goals like this,
00:31then it's another dimension of a player.
00:33What did you make of Ezei on his full debut for the club?
00:36The new ones that they started, fine for them today.
00:40I'm really impressed with them.
00:41I think you can sense and feel that there are new relationships flourishing there
00:46that are going to give us different things.
00:48To become more unpredictable, Noni was exceptional as well.
00:52We played a front three that we never played before.
00:54Good, the exposure of them, in terms of the timing as well,
00:58exactly what they needed because they played a lot of minutes
01:01and overall very happy.
01:04Michael, considering the players you had out today
01:07and then losing Martin early on,
01:09and then to play like that still,
01:12does that sort of show the squad depth that you've worked on
01:15all summer to get who's actually here and thriving already?
01:19Yeah, because if we would have done that,
01:21and as you said with the injuries that we have,
01:23unfortunately some of them are very difficult to control,
01:25we'll be in a very different place.
01:27We knew that that was the standard,
01:29that's the standard of the other teams in the league in Europe,
01:32and you can see that.
01:34I'm very happy because it gives us options,
01:37it gives us the capacity as well to change the game,
01:39it gives us the capacity to have freshness in the team,
01:41and now we have to make sure that everybody feels connected and important.
01:45Could you just check on Martin?
01:47Yeah.
01:48Presumably it's his shoulder, is it?
01:49Yeah, very similar.
01:50I don't know if it's exactly the same place,
01:52but very, very similar injury.
01:54He wasn't comfortable to continue.
01:55He's played two games with Norway,
01:57unfortunately he cannot carry on today,
01:59so we have to assess him with the doctors and see,
02:01but I'm sure he will try his best to be fit for Tuesday.
02:04Jordan?
02:05I just thought on Martin,
02:07because it's a very similar injury and it happened and he was fine
02:09and it's happened again,
02:11do you think you may have to go down a similar route to what you did with Kai
02:14in terms of just having an operation, getting it sorted?
02:17With Martin?
02:19No, I don't think that's, well, I'm not the expert,
02:22but they weren't concerned at that level at all.
02:25I mean, the last time in a few days he was able to manage the pain,
02:29especially it wasn't that the injury was that bad.
02:32I don't know the extent of two days, but hopefully not.
02:37And it's quite rare to see Declan not starting for Arsenal,
02:40but is that just quite nice?
02:41Did he need that rest and do you need to do that more?
02:45Yes, and as well because Mikel comes after scoring four goals in two games
02:51with a really high emotional state
02:53and I want to use that when a player is in that moment,
02:56I want to play him because he's going to bring something different
02:59with the qualities that they have
03:01and Declan comes in and it will have an impact immediately
03:04or we'll play the next game.
03:05And that's what we need to try to manage the best possible way.
03:08Can I just ask how you felt Ethan did in place of Martin?
03:12Because obviously throughout pre-season I think he played in that position quite often.
03:16So how have you seen him kind of develop in that role over the past few months?
03:20Very good, different qualities and you can sense, especially in the first time when he got the ball in certain areas,
03:25how comfortable he is to carry the ball straight away.
03:28The moment he's very close to the box he's got one thing in his mind,
03:31which is the goal and nothing else.
03:33And that's great that we have different qualities within the same position.
03:37And again, against Leeds I think it was the same thing.
03:40After 20 minutes we have to get Martin out, he came on and did very well.
03:45And how's Saliba doing? He missed today?
03:48Yeah, he trained yesterday and he did the whole session and he was OK.
03:52I spoke to him afterwards and he said, I think I need a few more days.
03:56The turnaround has been too quick for the extent of the injury.
03:59So when I play, he says that, don't push it.
04:02And I think Mosque was very, very good.
04:04Yes, I'm very good.
04:05Yes, I'm very good.
04:06Yes, I'm very good.
04:07Mascaro, again played, as you said, played really well.
04:09How hard could he be pushing Saliba and Gabriel this season?
04:14He even seems to come because, as you said...
04:15You've just seen today and what he did in Anfield.
04:17Very, very hard he's going to push them and this kid wants it a lot
04:21and he's so willing to learn.
04:22He's got already some great qualities that fit very well any position that we want to use
04:27in relation to the connections and the qualities of the other defenders.
04:31So that was it.
04:32And with so many defenders now, especially the ones that are pushing to start,
04:36how do you balance that?
04:37Because they obviously all want to play every week.
04:39So how do you balance that?
04:41Well, we need two players per position.
04:43This is football, nothing different.
04:44Again, in the other teams, when you see the qualities that they have,
04:47it's nothing new.
04:48It's just perform, be available as much as possible
04:51because we're going to need them.
04:52And in relation to the opponent, what we want to create,
04:55we'll use certain players, certain qualities.
04:58Miguel, you mentioned the high emotional state there for Marino.
05:02Yeah.
05:03But all of the new players, almost all of them have had big moments.
05:06How important is that in terms of getting something about this early,
05:09even as if today was the pass after Martin's goal?
05:12Well, that's very positive because as well some of the players
05:15that we decided to come off, when you see the reception
05:19and the connection they've been with our supporters already,
05:22that's top, that's exactly what you need because that's going to help you.
05:24It gives confidence.
05:25It gives you more ambition, I think, to do better.
05:29And they are all in a good place, I think.
05:31And just on the depth, is that a specific response to what the Champions League is now,
05:36that you basically have a parallel league season?
05:38Yeah, and obviously the amount of players that they have to play.
05:42They have to play 70 or 74 games throughout the season.
05:45It's never been done.
05:46When the intensity goes that high, they are not going to be able to sustain that.
05:50So, you need more players.
05:52The standards have raised.
05:53We need better players and there's no secret.
05:55Tom, Football London?
05:57Michael, you talked before the game about the perception of your side,
06:00how they approach the Liverpool game.
06:02Obviously, you talked about that game and this game, two opposite results.
06:05Do you see a difference at all in how you approach both games
06:08and the intent to win both games?
06:10No.
06:11They're the same.
06:12Hopefully you were in the preparation for the game in my meetings.
06:16James, your best.
06:18You mentioned Poloni earlier.
06:21Could you reflect on what it is he's brought to the squad that's a bit different?
06:24I mean, it seems like when he gets the ball, he just goes.
06:28Yeah.
06:29Yeah.
06:30A lot of courage.
06:32That's how I describe it.
06:34Obviously a lot of quality, but a lot of courage.
06:36And we were about to sign him and there was that reaction around him.
06:41I spoke to him and he was like,
06:43I'll go for it.
06:44I can't wait to put that shirt on and play for you guys.
06:47I said, well, let's bring him.
06:49If I was convinced before, I'm more convinced now that he's going to do it.
06:52And yeah, I think he has such a power, such a capacity to repeat efforts
06:58because to be able to do that physically you have to have a different specimen,
07:01I think.
07:02And he's certainly that.
07:03But he's very schoolful, very unpredictable.
07:05He's so willing to learn and it brings joy.
07:08You know, I look at him and he's always smiling,
07:10he's always trying things.
07:11He gets one wrong, he goes again.
07:13And that's what I love about the creative players,
07:16because you need that to be successful.
07:18OK, last couple.
07:19Phil from PA first.
07:20Hi.
07:21That's eight goals in two games,
07:24and you only conceded one goal in the four games so far.
07:27Do you think that, obviously you lost to Liverpool,
07:29but do you think that last one will be sort of moved on to a new level this year
07:32and what you're seeing and what sort of message are you sending out in terms of the title?
07:37That's what we hope,
07:38but we need to go game by game.
07:40It doesn't matter what we talk about,
07:41what we want to do,
07:42what we have to do.
07:43It's not what we want,
07:44we have to now work today, again, review.
07:46There are things that we have to get better at to be able to score even more
07:50and be more dominant in certain phases of the game.
07:52And go game by game.
07:54And I'm prepared to win in Bilbao,
07:56which is going to be incredible.
07:58I hope you all go,
07:59because it's one of the best places to go,
08:01north of Spain,
08:02that's where I'm from.
08:03So, go.
08:04I think you're going to enjoy, guys,
08:05and an incredible stadium atmosphere to play football.
08:08OK, finally to Ryan.
08:09Mikel, just on some of the new signings,
08:11obviously you signed them to making an immediate impact,
08:14but did you expect them to sort of settle as quickly as they have,
08:17because they have gelled?
08:19Yeah, well, I have no question in terms of what we want
08:23and dressing room and feeling part of that
08:26or the support that we're going to have from our people,
08:28no question.
08:29But then, yeah, things have to click
08:31and go well for you in the first instances.
08:34But we have tried to create the right environment for them
08:36and the quality is there.
08:37But I'm very glad that so early already,
08:39you can see that, wow,
08:41they're going to add so much value to the team.
08:43OK, guys, thanks very much.
08:44Yeah, thank you.
08:45Any recommendations?
08:48A lot.
08:49You're not going to get it wrong going.
