Anti-immigration and counter protestors gather in Adelaide

About three thousand people gathered in Adelaide to voice a range of left-wing and right-wing views. Anti-government and anti-mass migration protestors marched along north terrace to elder park while anti-racism protestors gathered in Victoria square.

00:22Housing has got major problems. We've got major problems in the housing crisis. We've got cost of living crisis.

00:28I'm not against immigration. I'm against mass immigration of people that will not assimilate to our way of life.

00:33It's the second significant rally through central Adelaide in a matter of weeks

00:38where protesters have rallied against what they call mass immigration.

00:42The only net zero in this country should be net zero immigration until such time as we have what we need in place for our people.

00:51In another part of Adelaide hundreds protested against racism.

00:55Their rally called in response to the Melbourne Aboriginal protest site Camp Sovereignty being attacked two weeks ago.

01:02To have neo-Nazis marching through our street disrespecting our multicultural communities

01:07and attacking our camps around the country is absolutely disgusting.

01:12You feel a whole whirlwind of emotion but ultimately you're just left with sadness and grief

01:18because this is the state of our country and we need to do better.

01:21Multiple protest groups also marching in other capital cities across the country.

01:26In Melbourne, police separating protesters from opposing groups,

01:30arresting and later releasing one man for criminal damage.

01:34Even using capsicum spray, a bystander caught in the crossfire.

01:38In Adelaide, police estimate about 3,000 people attended both rallies.
