00:00the photographs we've seen from last night um have now gone viral if you're just tuning in
00:05tom brady is a co-owner minority owner of the las vegas raiders he's in the coaching box you see
00:11right there last night full headset on talks to chip kelly the offensive coordinator multiple
00:15times a week about game planning about weaknesses of defenses and you know how to put in the best
00:20possible game plan obviously geno smith was terrible last night you know interception right
00:25out of the gate they get three on the night and that offense never got cracking so maybe tom brady
00:30you know picking the brains of other coaches has no impact because the raiders are not a good
00:36offensive team and geno smith in my opinion is not a very good quarterback i give him credit for what
00:41he did in seattle and getting his career back on track i don't begrudge that at all but not real
00:46good last night he was terrible he's bad last night but i'm wondering the hubris of the nfl
00:51if they're going to recognize that this is a problem with that guys like me and you and i'm
00:57sure every network's going to talk about this today because it's now the story of the week
01:01that tom brady has been giving the full-on blessing of the nfl which he did not have last year
01:08to go with the fox broadcast crew on friday under saturday sometimes sometimes both they do both nights
01:14and you meet with players on the team and coaches on the team so you have as much insight as possible so
01:19that when you do the broadcast you can say i know what they like to do on third down or look for this
01:25type of play on your first and 10 right that type of insight is invaluable for a coach which is why
01:33bill belichick was taping other teams practices for so many years which is why spygate became such
01:40a big deal in the nfl these teams in the nfl even though it appears week after week that there's a huge
01:47gap between the best team and let's say the 15th best team the reality is that it's not as big a gap
01:55as you think so any little bit of information on edge call it that you might have will benefit you
02:03in the long run it's why this insider trading on wall street because any little teeny bit of information
02:12that i have that you may not have or you may not want me to have gives me a head up on you gives me
02:18an advantage on all my competitors so take and this is a real life example this is why i wonder if the
02:25nfl will now go back to last year's rule which prevents tom brady from going to meet with the
02:31coaches and the players in advance of the game he's broadcasting fox has the bears cowboys game tom
02:37brady is doing it meaning tom brady at some point this week or weekend is going to sit down and talk
02:43to ben johnson kayla williams and everybody else involved with chicago and i'm using chicago for a
02:48reason i'll get to in a second and he's going to understand their mode of thinking what they like to do
02:55what they're not comfortable doing and that's going to make him in theory a more informed better
03:00broadcaster so that based on the game situation if it's third and short he's going to be able to say
03:07i talked to ben johnson last night he doesn't like running the ball between the tackles on
03:13whatever it might be right just i'll give you an example right now why is that important well tom
03:19brady is a co-owner of the raiders by his own admission he talks to chip kelly two three times a
03:24week every week to game plan for whomever the raiders play next well who do the raiders play in week
03:30four they play the chicago bears tom brady will have just spent hours talking to the key players
03:39and coaches and coordinators involved with the chicago bear football team meaning when he then
03:46calls chip kelly chip can say to him what do they like to do on defense uh in third and long what do
03:53they like to do third and short uh do you know and on and on and on giving the raiders an edge
03:59and that goes to the heart of what franchises and leagues are most concerned about integrity
