Brian Schottenheimer joined Shan, RJ, and Bobby to help get us ready for Sunday’s matchup against the Bears. He discussed Brandon Aubrey’s incredible talent and how he doesn’t want to rely solely on him as a game plan. Schotty broke down what type of player Caleb Williams is and highlighted Ben Johnson’s offense, noting his creative use of personnel and motions that create challenges for the defense. He touched on planning for trick plays and adjusting for bad weather and shared his thoughts on defensive changes that need to be made.

00:00coach uh we talked about the defense a lot this week the fans uh have have reacted to us about
00:21the defense uh the secondary primarily questioning whether or not the talent
00:27fits the scheme that's being played that's that's being played uh the miscommunication back there
00:32what's your take what have you seen over the first two weeks with that well i would agree with the
00:38fans in some regard that our communication has not been good enough i think that's real i think
00:42we own that i think we're working incredibly hard to um you know to get that resolved you know
00:48playing great team defense requires great communication and playing great team defense
00:53requires all 11 guys being on the same page and doing things the right way and we certainly did
01:00not do a good enough job last week um we certainly let too many guys get behind us uh and those are
01:06things that have been addressed and those are things that uh you coach through and those are
01:10things that you uh hold people accountable for starting with the coaches and the players and
01:15myself and all that and um we have to be better i think we were better uh if you look at the
01:20philadelphia game we were better you know and we communicated better and that was that was um you
01:26know in philadelphia against very very talented group uh and they're really the reason jalen hurts
01:31hurt us with his legs was there was nowhere to throw the damn football i mean a.j brown had what one
01:35catch and uh davante had one or two catches so again we did not play well enough on defense last
01:41week we understand that we own that this is a new week this is a new challenge uh and and that's why
01:46we uh that's why we get paid is to is to point out the problems make the corrections but lean on the
01:52fact that the players are going to get it fixed and whatever we emphasize they usually do a great job
