00:00You don't got some, Mom, do you, Chucky?
00:02Nope.
00:03How come?
00:04I don't know. I just don't got one.
00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:08And today, we're looking at some of the most heartbreaking episodes of our favorite animated shows.
00:13We won't be including anime, as it's worth its own list.
00:17Expect spoilers ahead.
00:19And remember, it's okay to cry.
00:24Bye, Mommy. Bye, Daddy.
00:26Number 30. Twisted Sister. The Powerpuff Girls.
00:32Feeling run down from crime fighting, the girls decide to create a new sister to take the edge off.
00:38And thus, we're introduced to Bunny, the new Powerpuff.
00:42She's eager to please her big sisters, but she's a little bulky and not too bright.
00:47Bunny! Bunny!
00:49Okay, that's good. Okay, stop! Stop!
00:53Good.
00:53However, when every crook in Townsville attacks the girls, Bunny single-handedly saves her sisters.
01:00But instead of a happy ending, poor Bunny disintegrates as her unstable genetic structure gives out.
01:06The girls are left to mourn the loss of their sister, regretting the harsh words they said to her.
01:11It's so heart-wrenching that even the narrator breaks down in tears as he honors the departed hero.
01:16The day is saved, thanks to Powerpuff Bunny!
01:23Powerbubble!
01:28Number 29. The Titanium Ninja.
01:32Ninjago.
01:33Zane was a nindroid, an android ninja, but was no less a vital part of the team.
01:39That makes the following scene all the more painful.
01:41Here, you take it.
01:43No, you are vital to this mission. Don't worry about me.
01:50I shall see you again.
01:53In the Season 3 finale, the evil Overlord has evolved into the Golden Master and is laying waste to Ninjago City.
02:00Zane asks his friends to support him one last time as he makes his move.
02:05He gets up close and personal with Overlord and overloads himself, his life flashing before his eyes.
02:11Zane's sacrifice ensured the safety of his friends and the city, and he's given the proper memorial he deserves.
02:18He taught us that life should be a balance.
02:21Technology can improve our lives, but so can people.
02:26However, the final scene gives us hope that we haven't seen the last of the metallic ninja.
02:31Number 28. How Long Is Forever?
02:33Teen Titans
02:34Starfire is saddened to see her friends bickering and concerned about their friendship.
02:40The Titans assure her that she has nothing to worry about, or so they think.
02:44We're getting on each other's nerves a little. Big deal.
02:47Yeah, this is just typical roommate stuff.
02:51We're not going to drift apart, Star.
02:53During a battle, Starfire ends up stuck in the future, and it is a nightmare.
02:58The city has been devastated, and the Teen Titans have disbanded.
03:02The Titans have become isolated and miserable, showing how fragile their friendship was without Starfire.
03:08While the episode ends happily with Starfire returning to the present,
03:12it's gut-wrenching to picture a future where the Titans drifted apart after everything they've been through.
03:18Hopefully, this bleak scenario teaches viewers not to take their friendships for granted.
03:22Who knows how long they could last?
03:25I don't want us to drift apart.
03:27Does it all have to happen?
03:29Isn't there anything we can-
03:30Our friendship has already changed Warp's past.
03:34I believe it can also change our future.
03:37Number 27. Long Live the Queen.
03:40The Lion Guard.
03:41This episode premiered with a content warning in front because they knew it would be a tearjerker,
03:46and they did not disappoint.
03:48Janna, Rani's grandmother and the queen of her pack,
03:51is nearing the end of her journey in the circle of life.
03:54With her family and Kion around her,
03:57she bids a warm goodbye to each and every one of them before handing the crown to Rani.
04:01But I still have so much to learn.
04:04Rani, you have everything you need to be queen, and you won't be alone.
04:09She passes peacefully, and everyone is a weeping mess, especially the audience.
04:15Death is nothing new in the Lion King franchise,
04:18but it is never easy to face, even in a series aimed at a younger audience.
04:23I'm so sorry, Rani.
04:25Thank you, Kion.
04:30Number 26. Tale of X-49. Samurai Jack.
04:34Usually, Aku's robots are shown to be emotionless hunters,
04:39whose only goal in life is to destroy Samurai Jack for their master.
04:43This is not the case for X-49, an assassin robot programmed with emotions.
04:48See, one of the scientists installed an experimental emotion chip inside of me.
04:55Why?
04:56He was funny that way.
04:58He had retired from killing to be with his beloved puppy, Lulu.
05:02However, Aku blackmailed him into hunting the Samurai against his will.
05:07Hey, Katlulu.
05:10Sweet thing.
05:12I had no choice.
05:14Sadly, we all know what happens to a robot that crosses paths with the Samurai.
05:19Even though we're rooting for Jack to defeat Aku,
05:21X-49's story is devastating,
05:24and he's the first opponent Jack shows remorse for destroying.
05:27It feels weird shedding tears over one of Aku's minions, and yet, here we are.
05:33Number 25. Remember It. X-Men 97.
05:37While visiting the mutant nation of Genosha,
05:40Rogue is at a crossroads between rekindling relationship with Magneto and her feelings for Gambit.
05:45But just as she's made her decision, a monstrous sentinel crashes the party,
05:50laying waste to the island and slaughtering any mutant in its path.
05:54The carnage is intense and uncomfortable, paralleling real-world terrorist attacks.
05:59But the madness finally ends with Gambit making the most heroic sacrifice ever.
06:04Gambit, see your bed.
06:06And raise it!
06:13Because the cards always be in my favor!
06:16When the dust clears, we see Rogue clinging to the lifeless body of her beloved swamp rat
06:21and sobbing her heart out.
06:23All the while, we try to control our own tears as a beloved X-Man goes out in a harrowing display.
06:30The name's Gambit, or not me.
06:32Number 24. The last crash of The Sun Chaser.
06:45Duck Tales.
06:46Scrooge McDuck has come a long way since his nephews moved in with him,
06:50turning from a grouchy shut-in to an adventurous family man.
06:53However, tensions build when he confesses to the triplets what happened to their mom,
06:58and they want nothing more to do with him.
07:00You built her a crazy, dangerous super rocket, which she stole early.
07:04Then you encouraged her to keep flying through a cosmic storm?
07:07You could have called her down!
07:08There were too many variables!
07:09What's more tragic is that we see a flashback of Scrooge nearly going bankrupt trying to find Della.
07:15So hearing his nephews accusing him of not caring stings twice as much.
07:20Having pushed all his loved ones away, Scrooge is back to square one, bitter and alone.
07:25David Tennant's voice acting only adds more emotional depth to the richest duck in the world,
07:30hitting rock bottom.
07:31I hope you're happy.
07:38I am.
07:41Number 23.
07:42Forget Me Not.
07:43The Wild Thornberries.
07:45While in Africa, Eliza befriends an elderly elephant named Rebecca,
07:49whom her father rescued when he was a young man.
07:52The bond between Eliza and Rebecca is heartwarming,
07:54almost like a grandmother and granddaughter relationship.
07:58I'm not surprised that my old friend's offspring is so clever.
08:04Well, in a way, I owe it all to you.
08:06If my dad hadn't met you, he might have never become a naturalist.
08:09Sadly, Rebecca's time is running out.
08:11And at the end of the day, she passes away peacefully with Eliza tearfully by her side.
08:16It's never easy to say goodbye to a friend, even one you just met.
08:20But at least Rebecca got to live a long life, made more prosperous by having met Eliza and Nigel.
08:27I'll never forget today, or you.
08:30And neither will my father.
08:33Such a good man.
08:35Thank you for reuniting me with my old friend.
08:40We should all be so lucky to live life to the fullest as this wise old pachyderm did.
08:46Number 22, The Hardest Thing, Amphibia.
08:50The finale of this acclaimed Disney series has two tearjerkers for the price of one.
08:55The first gut-wrencher occurs during the final battle against the Corps.
08:59Please don't do this.
09:00Don't go.
09:01I don't know what I'll do without you.
09:04You're my everything.
09:06You changed my life.
09:08Anne sacrifices herself to save the city,
09:11and her loved ones gather around her as she disintegrates into thin air.
09:16Miraculously, she is revived from the dead,
09:18only to face something arguably worse, saying goodbye.
09:22It's time for Anne to return home,
09:24but not before having to part with the planters,
09:27the little amphibians who became a second family to her.
09:30Thanks for taking me in.
09:31I'm so lucky to call myself a planter.
09:34I'm the lucky one, Anne.
09:36I'm so blessed to have a granddaughter like you.
09:38The actual hardest thing is trying to make it through this episode with dry eyes.
09:43We guarantee it's impossible.
09:46Number 21.
09:47King's Tide.
09:48The Owl House.
09:49The draining spell is unleashed,
09:51and the final phase of Baelos' grand scheme has begun.
09:55To save everyone,
09:56King is forced to make the most difficult decision of all,
09:59release the collector,
10:00and allow him to turn the boiling aisles into his personal playhouse.
10:04Luz tries to stay behind to let her friends escape,
10:07but King forces her to leave him behind and return to the human realm.
10:11We gotta stick together.
10:14I'm sorry.
10:15Not this time.
10:17But I can keep you safe.
10:20No!
10:21The episode ends bittersweetly.
10:23Luz finally makes it home,
10:24and King manages to save his favorite big sister figure.
10:28But at a personal cost.
10:29The Owl family is separated and unable to protect each other
10:33at a time when they need it the most.
10:35Hey, Mom.
10:39I'm back.
10:41Number 20.
10:42The Wedding Squanchers.
10:44Rick and Morty.
10:45If we come back to Earth,
10:46can my family have a normal life?
10:48Whether transforming the protagonist into a pickle or channel surfing,
10:52this Adult Swim cartoon tends to be more concerned
10:55with eliciting a laugh than a tear.
10:57An alcoholic mad scientist on the run from the Galactic Federation,
11:00Rick repeatedly and unapologetically drags the rest of the family,
11:05particularly Morty,
11:06into all kinds of troublesome situations.
11:09In the Season 2 finale,
11:10the Smiths are forced to go on the lam
11:12due to the scientist's notoriety.
11:15In an uncharacteristically selfless move,
11:17Rick surrenders to the Galactic Federation
11:19in exchange for the family's freedom.
11:21It would appear that there is a heart
11:23underneath all those burbs and insults.
11:26Number 19.
11:27Epilogue.
11:28Justice League Unlimited.
11:30Could you stay with me?
11:34It's a sign of a great series
11:36when the demise of a minor character,
11:38who only appears in three episodes,
11:40succeeds in coming across as tragic.
11:43Ace is a powerful psychic capable of warping reality.
11:46As a child,
11:47the metahuman was subjected to governmental experimentation
11:50and ended up temporarily working for the Joker.
11:53Aware death is just around the corner due to an aneurysm,
11:56Ace's final hours are spent with Batman,
11:58arguably the only person
12:00to ever treat the psychic as a human being
12:02rather than a weapon.
12:06He sat with her until her time.
12:09Number 18.
12:10Remembrance of Courage Past.
12:12Courage the Cowardly Dog.
12:14Talk about finishing a series on a gut punch.
12:21Courage the Cowardly Dog is constantly creepy,
12:24frequently darkly comical,
12:26and occasionally deeply moving.
12:28While some other segments are sad,
12:30nothing comes close to the flashback
12:32revealing how Courage meets Muriel.
12:34As a puppy,
12:35Courage basically witnesses the murder of his own parents
12:38at the hands of plausibly the worst cartoon veterinarian ever.
12:42Thankfully,
12:42the episode's conclusion is quite cathartic,
12:45but there's no forgetting the image
12:46of a crying baby Courage
12:48waving goodbye to a rocket carrying the dog's parents.
12:55Number 17.
12:56Weirdmageddon 3.
12:58Take Back the Falls.
12:59Gravity Falls.
13:00Oh, uh, hey there, kiddo.
13:04What's your name?
13:05Following two years filled with mystery,
13:07suspense, and wonderful characters,
13:10Gravity Falls' finale brought everything to the table.
13:13In order to defeat the dream demon named Bill Cipher,
13:16Stan willingly sacrifices the memories
13:18created with Mabel and Dipper over the summer.
13:21These recollections are recovered
13:22once Mabel shows Stan a scrapbook
13:24with the trio's many adventures.
13:26But the real emotional kicker occurs
13:28when the kids finally leave Gravity Falls.
13:30In an incredibly touching montage,
13:33the episode briefly shows the futures
13:35of many of the town's residents,
13:37who fans had grown to love
13:38over the preceding 40 episodes.
13:41Number 16.
13:42A Regular Epic Final Battle.
13:44Regular Show.
13:46Enough!
13:47This battle starts now!
13:51Lasting for eight seasons and 261 episodes,
13:55Regular Show's finale needed to be almost perfect
13:57to live up to all the hype.
13:59If nothing else,
14:00the cartoon cannot be criticized
14:01for playing it safe.
14:03Stuck in a stalemate against anti-Pops
14:05and with the whole universe on the line,
14:07Pops ultimately concludes the only way to save everyone
14:10is to plunge both of them into the sun.
14:12The minute you let me go,
14:14I'm gonna blast you into nothing.
14:17I know.
14:18So I'm not going to let go.
14:20The battle's aftermath is also a tearjerker,
14:23culminating in a 25-year time skip,
14:25depicting a much older Mordecai and Rigby
14:28coming back together for a park reunion.
14:31Number 15.
14:32Code of Hero.
14:33Beast Wars.
14:35Transformers.
14:36Destiny has one great test in store for us all.
14:41Has mine already come?
14:45And have I failed it?
14:47Is a villain truly a villain
14:48if he sacrifices himself for the sake of good?
14:51After starting as a follower
14:53of the evil Predacon leader Megatron,
14:55Dinobot rebels against him
14:57and ends up with the heroic Maximals.
15:00Optimus here.
15:01What is it, Dinobot?
15:03Code red.
15:04Situation extreme.
15:06However, some still see him as evil,
15:09so Dinobot is determined to show them
15:11he's no longer the monster they think he is.
15:14I am a warrior.
15:17Let the battle be joined.
15:19He's given that opportunity
15:20when he finds himself facing a Predacon onslaught
15:23with no backup,
15:25and fights to the death
15:26to save a group of proto-humans
15:27that will eventually give birth to the human race.
15:30One lonely turncoat,
15:32battling on against impossible odds.
15:35I'm almost touched.
15:37Dinobot succeeds in thwarting their plans,
15:40but is mortally wounded in the process.
15:43Unable to help him,
15:44the Transformers leave their fallen comrade
15:46with one final salute.
15:48He lived a warrior
15:49and died a hero.
15:53Let his spark join the Matrix,
15:56the greatest of Cybertron.
15:58Number 14.
15:59Rose's Scabbard, Steven Universe.
16:02Sometimes I wonder if she can see me
16:05through your eyes.
16:06Everyone grieves the loss
16:08of a loved one differently.
16:09Pearl, you have to tell me what's wrong.
16:13Sometimes you even sound like her.
16:17In Pearl's case,
16:18she pushes away her friend Steven,
16:20the son of a woman she followed,
16:22respected, and loved deeply.
16:24After accompanying the Crystal Gems
16:26to the Strawberry Battlefield,
16:28Steven begins to uncover many new truths
16:30about his late mother,
16:31and starts to see that Pearl
16:33never got the closure she needed
16:34on their relationship.
16:35Why'd she keep so many secrets?
16:37She had to, Steven.
16:39It's the mark of a great leader.
16:41This becomes even clearer
16:43when Pearl lashes out
16:44after discovering that Rose
16:45may have kept secrets from her.
16:47She probably just wanted to protect you
16:49like everyone else.
16:50Why do you know?
16:51You've never even met her!
16:53Denying the fact that anyone
16:55was closer to Rose than she was,
16:57Pearl runs away upset.
16:59But eventually, she realizes
17:00there's no better way
17:01to stay close to her late friend
17:03than by sharing her memories
17:04of Rose with Steven.
17:11Number 13.
17:13Game Over.
17:14Reboot.
17:14You're all I have left.
17:16Now you be careful out there.
17:18I don't know what I'll do.
17:19Hey, don't get all mushy on me.
17:21You're a commander, remember?
17:23Unfortunately for the citizens
17:24of Mainframe,
17:25these games don't come
17:26with extra lives.
17:27We've got a problem.
17:29The user only has to beat
17:30five opponents to win the game.
17:31In the midst of a war
17:33against the virus Megabyte,
17:34the system's user
17:35sends a game down onto the city.
17:37How many more must suffer
17:39before Megabyte is stopped?
17:41In an attempt to save
17:42that section of the mainframe,
17:44Enzo, along with his friend
17:46Andrea and loyal dog Frisket,
17:48jump into the Mortal Kombat-style
17:50fighting game to defeat the user.
17:53You can't speak in these things.
17:55The game proves to be more
17:57than the young Guardian
17:57and his friends can handle, however.
17:59And after Enzo is dealt
18:01a crippling blow
18:02and loses an eye
18:03during the final battle,
18:04the story moves to the perspective
18:06of those outside the game
18:07as they wait for it to end.
18:09As the purple GameCube
18:10begins to disappear,
18:12we hear, for the first time,
18:14the most frightening words
18:15ever uttered in the series.
18:17Game over.
18:19Here it goes.
18:21Get ready.
18:22The user wins.
18:23Number 12.
18:24Heart of Ice.
18:26Batman the Animated Series.
18:27Humanity.
18:30Compassion.
18:32Charity.
18:33Where were those pretty words
18:35when she needed to hear them?
18:37Some Batman villains
18:38just want to watch the world burn.
18:40Some want to see it freeze.
18:42But the reason why
18:43might surprise you.
18:45Take it easy, man.
18:46I got you.
18:47Leave him.
18:51He should have been more careful.
18:54The Dark Knight has a tendency
18:56to fight baddies
18:57that are victims of circumstance.
18:59Take Mary Dahl, for example,
19:00whose eternal youth
19:01was more curse than blessing.
19:03However, Heart of Ice
19:04sees the caped crusader
19:05face the diabolical Mr. Freeze.
19:08Freeze.
19:10That's Mr. Freeze to you.
19:12The Daytime Emmy Award-winning episode
19:14follows Batman
19:15as he chases this former
19:17GothCorp scientist,
19:18whom he discovers
19:19is solely seeking revenge
19:20on GothCorp CEO Ferris Boyle
19:22for turning him into a monster
19:24and essentially sentencing
19:25his wife to death.
19:26Night, I mean to pay back
19:28the man who ruined my life.
19:31Our lives.
19:33Ultimately, Batman does apprehend
19:35the villain and sends him
19:36off to Arkham Asylum,
19:38where Freeze can only
19:39mourn his loved one.
19:40I can only beg your forgiveness
19:43and pray you'll hear me somehow.
19:47Number 11.
19:48I Remember You.
19:49Adventure Time.
19:50Stop acting crazy!
19:53I just wanna be loved!
19:55Sometimes it takes a true friend
19:57to remind you of who you really are.
19:59You like me?
20:02Of course I do, you old jerk!
20:04In a desperate attempt
20:05to win the affection of a princess,
20:07as is his way,
20:08the Ice King seeks out
20:09Marceline the Vampire Queen
20:11to help him write a song.
20:12Wow, I wrote that?
20:14Hot stuff!
20:15This songwriting session
20:16gets all too real
20:18when Marceline tries to remind
20:19the wizard of his life
20:20before he found the magic crown
20:22that drove him nuts
20:23and erased his memories.
20:24This magic keeps me alive
20:26but it's making me crazy
20:28and I need to save you
20:30but who's going to save me?
20:33Saddened by the reality
20:34of the situation,
20:35Marceline opts to bond
20:36with her old friend
20:37the only way she can,
20:39and we're left watching
20:40a touching flashback scene
20:41where we see how the two met
20:42and became friends
20:44in the aftermath
20:45of the Mushroom War.
20:47Ta-da!
20:50Ta-da!
20:53Number 10.
20:54Requiem
20:55Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
20:57Master Splinter
20:58was not only a wise sensei
21:00and mentor to the turtles,
21:01he was also their loving father
21:03and protector.
21:04Giving guidance to your brothers
21:06and friends
21:06does not come from here.
21:08It comes from here.
21:10That's why it was absolutely
21:12gut-wrenching
21:13to see him done away with
21:14in such a brutal fashion
21:15in the TMNT episode Requiem.
21:18Party at the Mutanimals crib, yo!
21:20And you can come too, sensei!
21:22Hmm.
21:24Perhaps I do need
21:25to get out of the sewers
21:26for a time.
21:27When the team is facing off
21:28against the mighty Mutanimals,
21:30Splinter finds himself
21:31in a one-on-one rooftop battle
21:33with a souped-up super shredder.
21:38It first seems like
21:39he stands a chance,
21:40having thrown Shredder
21:41off the rooftop.
21:42Yes!
21:44You did it, sensei!
21:45But suddenly,
21:46Shredder springs back
21:47into action,
21:49fatally stabbing Splinter
21:50with his razor claws.
21:54If that wasn't enough,
21:55we're then shown
21:56some of the turtles'
21:57cherished memories
21:58of their dear father.
22:01Papa!
22:06There's no amount
22:07of anchovies
22:08or pizza
22:08that can make this episode
22:10more bearable.
22:11Number 9.
22:12Free Churro
22:13Bojack Horseman
22:14My mom died
22:15and all I got
22:15was just free churro.
22:17Praised for its
22:18honest depiction
22:19of depression,
22:20substance use disorder,
22:21and various other
22:22challenging subjects,
22:24one of Bojack Horseman's
22:25saddest scenes
22:26pivots around,
22:27of all things,
22:28free churros
22:29and Ted Danson's
22:3090s sitcom,
22:31Becker.
22:32Season 4's
22:33Arrow suggested
22:34there was more
22:35to the protagonist's
22:36cold mother
22:37than meets the eye,
22:38but Beatrice
22:39and Bojack
22:40remain estranged
22:41until the very end.
22:43Taking place
22:44during Beatrice's
22:45apparent funeral,
22:46Free Churro
22:47frames Bojack's
22:48troubled childhood
22:48through an ongoing
22:49eulogy.
22:51Like always,
22:51Bojack Horseman
22:52finds a way
22:53to throw in
22:53a few laugh-out-loud
22:54moments,
22:55but a somber tone
22:56is maintained
22:56throughout the entire episode.
22:58Because now I know
23:00I will never have
23:01a mother who looks
23:02at me from across
23:03a room and says,
23:04Bojack Horseman,
23:06I see you.
23:07Number 8.
23:08The Tales of Ba Sing Se,
23:10Avatar The Last Airbender
23:11If only I could have
23:13helped you.
23:15Split into six vignettes,
23:17The Tales of Ba Sing Se
23:18is often quite lighthearted.
23:20Then you get to
23:21The Tale of Iroh.
23:23This segment mainly
23:24consists of Zuko's
23:25uncle helping strangers
23:26while traveling
23:27through Ba Sing Se.
23:28All these sweet
23:29acts of kindness
23:30lead to Iroh
23:31leaving town
23:32to memorialize
23:33the birthday
23:34of his late son,
23:35who died during
23:36a siege prior
23:37to the events
23:37of the cartoon.
23:38There will not be
23:39a single dry eye
23:40during Iroh's
23:41tearful rendition
23:42of Leaves from the Vine.
23:44Avatar The Last Airbender's
23:46vignette closes
23:46with a tribute
23:47to Iroh's voice actor,
23:48Mako Iwamatsu,
23:50who passed away
23:50a couple of months
23:51prior to the episode's airing.
23:53Number 7.
23:54Have you seen this snail?
23:56Spongebob Squarepants.
23:58Gary Runs Away
23:59might not seem
24:00like an especially
24:00creative premise,
24:02but Spongebob Squarepants
24:03produced an absolute
24:04gem of an episode.
24:06Due to being distracted
24:06by a meaningless task,
24:08Spongebob forgets
24:09to feed Gary,
24:10prompting the snail
24:11to pack and leave.
24:12Eventually,
24:13Spongebob notices
24:14Gary is gone
24:15and becomes increasingly
24:16distraught at the thought
24:17of never seeing
24:18the snail again.
24:18Come on, Pat,
24:19just take these flyers
24:20and hand them out.
24:21Along with an awesome
24:22antagonist in Granny,
24:23Have You Seen This Snail
24:25contains one of the cartoon's
24:26most extraordinary songs
24:27in the depressing
24:28Gary Come Home.
24:30If it was not
24:31for the happy ending,
24:32Have You Seen This Snail
24:33may have taken first place.
24:35If only I could hear you meow
24:37one last time.
24:39Meow.
24:40Yeah, like that.
24:42Number 6.
24:43Kenny Dies,
24:44South Park.
24:45Kenny's sick?
24:46Well, how sick?
24:47During the opening
24:48five seasons,
24:49South Park barely allowed
24:50an episode to pass
24:51without killing Kenny.
24:53After rendering death
24:54completely meaningless,
24:55season 5's Kenny Dies
24:56arrived to tear
24:57every fan's heart out.
24:59Hospitalized with
25:00a terminal illness,
25:01Kenny's health
25:02rapidly deteriorates,
25:03forcing the boys
25:04to come to terms
25:05with mortality.
25:06I know it's tough, okay?
25:07I know.
25:08But we have to be
25:09tough right now.
25:10Even though Cartman
25:10spends the majority
25:11of the episode
25:12attempting to find a cure,
25:13just as the title
25:14prophesied,
25:16Kenny eventually dies,
25:17and nothing about
25:18the moment
25:18is treated as a joke.
25:20I didn't get to see him.
25:22I didn't get to say goodbye.
25:26The boys grieve,
25:27Stan questions God,
25:29and Cartman duplicates
25:30a Shakey's pizza.
25:32Season 15's
25:33You're Getting Old
25:34Sobering Ending
25:35also merits
25:35a special mention.
25:37Number 5.
25:38A Charlie Brown Christmas.
25:40A Charlie Brown Christmas.
25:41I think there must be
25:42something wrong with me, Linus.
25:44Christmas is coming,
25:45but I'm not happy.
25:46I don't feel
25:47the way I'm supposed
25:47to feel.
25:48What is Christmas all about?
25:50The always emo
25:51Charlie Brown's
25:52depressive state
25:53reaches an all-time low
25:54in this classic
25:55Christmas special,
25:56as he contemplates
25:58why the holiday spirit
25:59eludes him.
26:00What's the matter,
26:01Charlie Brown?
26:01Don't you think
26:02it's great?
26:03It's all wrong.
26:05Against his
26:06better judgment,
26:07Chuck takes Lucy's
26:08advice and directs
26:09the school's
26:10nativity play.
26:11But this just makes
26:12matters worse
26:12when he's met
26:13with jeers
26:13from his classmates
26:14after failing to produce
26:15an adequate Christmas tree.
26:17What kind of a tree
26:18is that?
26:19You are supposed
26:20to get a good tree.
26:21Can't you even tell
26:22a good tree
26:23from a poor tree?
26:24Although Linus's
26:25poignant speech
26:26cheers him up temporarily,
26:28Charlie Brown
26:28is in such a deep
26:29emotional hole,
26:30the only thing
26:31that can yank him
26:32out of it for good
26:33is the sight
26:34of his friends
26:34showing his little tree
26:35some TLC
26:36and belting out
26:37Christmas carols.
26:39It's all so simple.
26:40Merry Christmas,
26:42Charlie Brown!
26:44Number 4.
26:45Life of Brian
26:46Family Guy
26:47We're all gonna miss him,
26:48Peter.
26:49We're all gonna miss him
26:50very much.
26:51After one of their
26:52many trips to the past
26:53goes awry,
26:54Stewie and Brian
26:55agree to destroy
26:56their time machine.
26:57This time machine
26:58has almost killed us
26:59a hundred times,
27:00Brian,
27:01and yesterday
27:01was just too close
27:02a call.
27:03However,
27:03fate is cruel
27:04and Stewie
27:05immediately regrets
27:06this decision
27:07when Brian
27:08is struck by a car
27:09and critically injured,
27:10ultimately uttering
27:11his last words
27:12from the operating table.
27:14Reality sets in
27:15for Stewie
27:15when he realizes
27:16that repairing
27:17the time machine
27:17is impossible
27:18and so the grieving
27:19process must begin.
27:21Oh dear,
27:22Rupert,
27:22without those capacitors
27:24it'll be completely
27:24impossible to build
27:25a functioning time machine.
27:27I guess that means
27:28Brian has
27:29really gone for good.
27:31To help the family
27:32cope with their loss,
27:33Lois and Peter
27:33bring home a new dog
27:34named Vinny,
27:35but while he is able
27:37to emote with Stewie
27:38about his lost friend,
27:39Vinny can't replace
27:40the void left by Brian
27:41in the Griffin household.
27:43He was my best friend.
27:44You're not supposed
27:45to lose your best friend
27:46at my age.
27:47You're not supposed
27:48to lose him ever.
27:49Number 3,
27:50Mother Simpson,
27:52The Simpsons.
27:53Well, how about this?
27:54This thing says
27:55my mother's still alive.
27:56She died when I was a kid.
27:58When a show's on
27:59as long as The Simpsons,
28:00it's bound to turn
28:01to the bittersweet
28:02every now and then.
28:03Oh, Mom.
28:04I'm sorry I never
28:05come to see you.
28:06I'm just not a cemetery person.
28:08The moment when Lisa
28:09says goodbye
28:09to her substitute teacher
28:11always gets us sniffling.
28:13But it's the mystery
28:14you never knew
28:14you wanted solved
28:15surrounding the whereabouts
28:16of Homer's mother
28:17that makes our list.
28:19I can't believe you're here.
28:21Dad always told me
28:22you died while I was
28:22at the movie.
28:23This melancholic episode
28:24sees Homer joyfully
28:26reunited with his long-lost
28:27mother, Mona,
28:28after 27 years.
28:30Hey, everybody.
28:31I got a big surprise for you.
28:34Presenting my mother.
28:36The two make up for lost time,
28:37but it's soon revealed
28:38that it's Mona's
28:39troubled history
28:40with the law
28:40that's kept her away so long.
28:42And it forces her away again,
28:44leaving her son
28:45with a hole in his heart.
28:46Don't worry, Homer.
28:47You'll always be a part of me.
28:50Don't!
28:51At least this time, however,
28:53they're able to share
28:54a heartfelt goodbye.
28:56At least this time,
28:57I'm awake for your goodbye.
28:58Oh, Homer.
29:00Number two.
29:01Mother's Day, Rugrats.
29:03I remember the first time
29:04I saw my mom.
29:06I think I was in a fish tank
29:07or something.
29:08Nothing prepares you
29:10for the heartbreaking reality
29:11of having to reveal
29:12this kind of truth
29:13to your child.
29:14It's all right, Chucky.
29:15Don't be scared.
29:17The babies celebrate
29:18their first Mother's Day
29:19experience by crafting presents
29:20for their beloved moms.
29:22We don't got presents
29:23for our mom, Phillip.
29:25I got a piece of candy
29:27I've been saving.
29:28But this only draws attention
29:29to the fact that Chucky
29:30doesn't have a mother.
29:32The episode sees him
29:33searching for a surrogate mom
29:34and thinking about
29:35what he's missing.
29:36I wish I could remember
29:37stuff like that.
29:39Don't you remember
29:40ever having a mom?
29:41Nope.
29:42It turns out that,
29:44due to Chucky's tender age,
29:45his father has withheld
29:46information about his son's mother,
29:48hoping he could shield him
29:50from the pain of missing her.
29:52Chucky,
29:52this is your mom.
29:56With support from
29:57the other parents,
29:58Chaz decides to introduce
29:59Chucky to his mother
30:00via a box of her belongings.
30:02Go ahead.
30:03We dare you not to cry.
30:04My sweet little Chucky,
30:07though I must leave you behind me,
30:09this poem will tell you
30:10where you always can find me.

30:28If you're ever given
30:36the opportunity
30:37to travel a thousand years
30:39into the future,
30:40consider what you might
30:41be leaving behind.
30:42I won't be gone long,
30:43Seymour.
30:43Just wait here
30:44till I come back.
30:45In pizza delivery boy
30:46Philip J. Fry's case,
30:48one thing he abandoned
30:49was his lucky
30:50seven-leaf clover.
30:51But fortunately,
30:52as we learn
30:53in another tear-jerking episode,
30:55his nephew put that
30:56to good use.
30:57But Fry also left
31:05his dog Seymour
31:06back in the year 2000.
31:17When he unearths
31:18a fossil of his long-lost pal
31:20in the 31st century,
31:22Fry decides to bring
31:22Seymour back as a clone.
31:27However,
31:29he ultimately decides
31:30against the procedure,
31:32thinking that the pooch
31:32will have forgotten
31:33their friendship.
31:34I'll never forget him.
31:36But he forgot me
31:37a long, long time ago.
31:39All it takes
31:40is one heart-wrenching
31:41flashback for us to learn
31:42that he couldn't be
31:43further from the truth.
31:45What's he so worked up about?
31:46He's just upset
31:47because our boy's missing.
31:49Come on,
31:49the overgrown rat,
31:50lead us to Philip.
31:52Which episode
31:53did you cry the hardest over?
31:55Let us know
31:56in the comments.
31:57You see that spot
31:58down there?
32:00That's where
32:01your father saved me
32:02from those awful men
32:03all those years ago.
