00:00Eleven days ago, my friend was martyred for using his voice to engage in peaceful dialogue.

00:25Hello, everyone.
00:29My name is Mikey McCoy.
00:31I had the unique honor, blessing and privilege of a lifetime to not only call Charlie a precious
00:37friend, mentor, but to travel with him literally everywhere.
00:44The first time I met Charlie was when I was driving him and his then girlfriend, Erica,
00:49to the airport after he had spoken at my father's church.
00:52The entire car ride, he was grilling me on Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, American history.
00:58At the end, he said, don't go to college, come work for me instead.
01:05At 18, I canceled my college plans, moved to Arizona.
01:09My life was forever changed by Charlie.
01:13All of us in this room have that in common.
01:17My first day working at Turning Point, I met an incredible girl who Charlie was interviewing
01:23on his podcast, sharing the story of her family who had survived a totalitarian regime, whose
01:29grandfather was imprisoned in the gulags for 10 years for preaching the gospel.
01:37Keith and I were married a year later.
01:40Thank you, Charlie.
01:48When Charlie would speak on college campuses, he'd often wear T-shirts with inspiring taglines
01:54like, here I am, never surrender, freedom.
02:02But as I've watched back so many clips these past 11 days, my favorite, and so often worn
02:07by him, was live free.
02:11Eleven days ago, my friend was martyred for using his voice to engage in peaceful dialogue.
02:20Charlie's assassin thought that he could steal and silence his voice by putting a bullet in
02:25his neck.
02:26In the words of Soren Kiergaard, the tyrant dies and his rule is over.
02:32The martyr dies and his rule has just begun.
02:50Charlie was not silenced.
03:01His movement is only beginning.
03:04The voices of millions globally have been awakened, furthering his cause and mission far beyond anyone's
03:11comprehension.
03:13We won't cower in fear.
03:16We will never surrender.
03:18We are resolved to live free from lies and seek out what is true.
03:23We will respectfully, boldly challenge what is accepted by culture in order to seek out
03:30what is true and acceptable to God Almighty alone.
03:46To everyone here today, live free.
03:51True freedom is not found in doing whatever we want, but pursuing Christ in doing what
03:57is right.
03:59In Charlie's words, get married.
04:03Have more children than you can afford.
04:05Build a legacy.
04:06Pass down your values.
04:07Pursue the eternal.
04:09Make true joy.
04:12Charlie led by example.
04:14It's not only seen in the incredible wife, Erica Kirk, his two beautiful children, the legacy
04:22he built, his values, his love of God, and true joy he found in his Savior, Jesus Christ,
04:27but in countless people, especially young people like Elizabeth and I, whose very lives are the
04:34fruit of Charlie's example of faithfulness.
04:38Charlie, it was the honor of my life to serve you as you serve Jesus.
04:46And now we will all continue to serve you as we continue to serve Jesus.
04:52Thank you so much.
04:54I love you, Charlie.
04:55I can't wait to see you again.
04:57God bless Erica Kirk, CEO and chair of Turning Point USA, the Kirk family, and God bless America.
