भारत के आईटी केंद्र के नाम से मशहूर कर्नाटक की राजधानी बेंगलुरू, बिगड़ते बुनियादी ढांचे के कारण कई दिनों से सुर्खियों में है. भारी बारिश, ट्रैफिक जाम और सड़कों पर गड्ढों ने लोगों का जीना दूभर कर दिया है. आधे-अधूरे निर्माण काम और गड्ढों के कारण प्रमुख चौराहों पर अक्सर यातायात ठप हो जाता है. हर चौराहा खुदा हुआ दिखता है, जिससे गाड़ियों को रेंगते हुए चलना पड़ता है. पैदल यात्रियों के लिए बड़े-बड़े गड्ढों से बचकर निकलना भारी चुनौती होती है. बेंगलुरू के बाहरी इलाके में बच्चों को ले जा रही एक स्कूल बस गड्ढों के कारण पलट गई. इसपर लोगों का आक्रोश सुर्खियों में था. ये मुद्दा तब और गहरा गया जब लॉजिस्टिक्स कंपनी ब्लैकबक ने आवाजाही की खराब स्थिति और गड्ढों का हवाला देते हुए अपना मुख्यालय बदलने का ऐलान किया. इसके बाद आउटर रिंग रोड की बदहाली का मुद्दा गर्म हो गया.
