00:00Regeneration is meant to bring opportunity, better jobs, stronger communities and more investment into Birmingham.
00:09The new mayoral development corporation is being sold as a white coat red type and fast track the big projects.
00:15But for many it isn't just about grossing new buildings, it's about whether the challenges reach everyday lives
00:21and whether growth translates into money, into people's pockets.
00:25Possibly, it depends if they take advantage of them opportunities or if they've been told about the opportunities
00:32because they might have the opportunities but if people don't know about it then they're not going to know,
00:37they're not going to be able to apply for it or go the right way about it if you get what I mean.
00:42I just don't have a view on this.
00:45I think, I mean HS2 is going to happen so anything that brings jobs to the people around here
00:52that's all about investment in their future careers, it's got to be a good idea.
00:56However, it does need to go with the development of the individuals as well
01:01because people need to get aspiration out of that.
01:05I'm guessing Regeneration is always going to be great for any city, isn't it?
01:09Yeah, brings more tourists and brings more people want to come if it's easier to get to and easier to get around.
01:15So yeah, it's got to be good.
01:18If more investment from the government should be creating more jobs for the people living in here
01:28because they, I think they will hire the local people first instead of importing other people, other labourers from other countries.
01:41So I think definitely would help, yeah.
01:47Schemes like Smithfield and the Knowledge Quarter are pitched as a once in a generation chance to reshape the city.
01:54They promise thousands of jobs and a boost for local business.
01:58But there's also a fear that rapid development prices people out, leaving residents to watch from the sidelines as outsiders catch in.
02:06I think it's all about supply and demand, right?
02:11If people, if, I think there is like a market price for the public.
02:18People are clever, they're smart, they will choose something suitable for them.
02:26So I think that let the people choose. Yeah, I think, yeah.
02:31I think it's a real opportunity, like anything that gives youngsters more chance to do sports and things like that is good for them.
02:42It's just making sure that things are at the right price point.
02:46I think it goes 50-50, really.
02:48Like, if they get enough people that, like I said, they take advantage of it and yes, it's 50-50, I suppose.
02:54Like, yeah, it depends on the people, like.
02:59So, yeah, all right.
03:02I can't find, um.
03:12So, yeah.
03:16Well, look at that later.
03:17You doriteids.
03:18Really?
03:20Like, yeah.
03:22I've done this.
03:23So, yeah.
