00:00Hello, boys, and oh, mm, awkward.
00:04Hey, kid, lock up when you're done, okay?
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today, we're counting down our picks for the TV baddies who may
00:13have had a point, even if they weren't the best people.
00:16For this list, we're sticking to live-action shows only.
00:20Also, there are some spoilers ahead.
00:22Gotta make our own pile.
00:23Oh, come on.
00:25Yeah, I mean, it's what my gut is telling me, and so I gotta listen to my gut.
00:28It's all I got to go on.
00:30Jesus.
00:32Number 10, Mitchum Hunsberger, Gilmore Girls.
00:36Having your boyfriend's dad as a boss isn't all it's cracked up to be.
00:40Mitchum Hunsberger and his posh family were horrible to Rory Gilmore,
00:44but his assessment of her fortitude turned out to be true.
00:47I thought I was doing okay.
00:50I just don't think you really have the drive to put yourself out there, to be honest.
00:56To get a story, to dig.
00:57After she interns for his newspaper, he is brutally honest with her.
01:02Journalism is not the career for her.
01:04Her response to her first real taste of failure is to steal a yacht and drop out of Yale.
01:10That one looks good.
01:12Yeah.
01:13Nice and seaworthy.
01:15Not ours to take.
01:17That ever stopped you before?
01:19In the show's sequel series, A Year in the Life, Rory's career has all but floundered.
01:24It might be a chicken or the egg kind of thing, but if all it took was one bad experience for her to spin out,
01:30Hunsberger may have hit the nail on the head.
01:33I don't believe that's the first time anyone's ever said that to me.
01:35I mean, someone not sticking a ship in my back.
01:38Number 9, Lex Luthor, Smallville.
01:41Superman's arch-nemesis doesn't start out that way.
01:44In The CW's young adult rendering of the hero's beginnings, a teenage Lex Luthor befriends Clark Kent.
01:51However, Luthor becomes obsessed with finding out Kent's real identity.
01:55You never told me this woman's name.
01:58I thought you weren't interested.
02:00Maybe I'll ask her for some stock tips.
02:02Luthor's opposition to the Supers is deeper than a personal vendetta.
02:06Several events in the series do actually prove him right.
02:10Clark Kent proves that when he comes across red kryptonite, which makes him violent and twice as deadly.
02:17It doesn't really matter.
02:19I'll figure it out one way or another.
02:23Now, that doesn't make Lex the hero.
02:26It just means his paranoia is kind of understandable.
02:29What he does with it is another matter.
02:31Why did you do it?
02:36Number 8, Shane Walsh, The Walking Dead.
02:45The survivors of the zombie apocalypse were put in a pretty terrible position.
02:49For all Shane knew, he escaped the onslaught with the wife Rick left behind and fell for her.
02:55You want to know what happened with Otis?
02:58What happened with Otis happened because I love you.
03:02I love you.
03:03And I love Carl.
03:04That's what I told Rick.
03:07Once Rick rejoined his family, Shane constantly clashed with him.
03:11Good guy Rick constantly harped on about remaining civilized in an uncivilized world.
03:16Shane's attitude was more brutal and survivalist.
03:19What is it to survive?
03:21What is it to survive?
03:24Yeah.
03:27One of us wasn't going to make it out.
03:29Given some of the treacherous villains they encountered later on in the series,
03:33Shane's approach wasn't that far off.
03:35Unfortunately, his ideology also drove him to become a dangerous individual to the rest of the group.
03:40This failed MCU TV venture just didn't have the sauce and critics largely wrote it off.
03:55A lot of its failure to stick the landing had to do with how strong its villain was.
03:59Who we are today is not who we are born.
04:03We transform.
04:05An evolution that usually only happens once in our lifetimes.
04:10But change is happening today.
04:13Maximus was forsaken by the other Inhumans and his constant ostracization hardened him.
04:19It's difficult not to empathize with him.
04:21Your father is a soldier embarking on a great cause.
04:27He will literally open the gates of paradise for the rest of us.
04:32You do want him to come home safely, don't you?
04:34His desire to overthrow the hierarchical class system among his own makes a lot of sense.
04:40Sure, he's basically a dictator.
04:41But when you compare it to his family's enslavement of other Inhumans is almost a net zero.
04:46By giving him so much dimension, the show actually robs the so-called heroes of any rootability.
04:53Trust in me.
04:55I am the king of Adeline.
04:59Long live King Maximus.
05:02Number 6.
05:03Logan Roy.
05:04Succession.
05:05Almost everyone on this show is rotten.
05:08That's why we watch.
05:09Logan Roy is certainly no angel.
05:12I got feelers, I got the cuffs.
05:13It's a horse shit.
05:14Pipe tree.
05:15Everybody thinks you're a joke.
05:18The billionaire dangles inheritance of his business empire over his possible heirs like
05:23a piece of cheese in a mousetrap.
05:25His most damning criticism of his children, of which there were many, is his quietest.
05:30He loves them, but they're not serious people.
05:33You are not serious figures.
05:35I love you, but you are not serious people.
05:46It's so honest and direct that it's stunning.
05:49Their actions throughout the final season more than prove his point.
05:53Through all their backstabbing and petulance, he was correct that not a single one of them
05:58could handle being his successor.
05:59Of course, it's all his fault, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.
06:05You know, you're smart, you're good, but I just don't know.
06:10What?
06:11Come on.
06:11You're not a killer.
06:20Number 5.
06:21Shane Patton, The White Lotus
06:23It was my honeymoon.
06:25Yeah, congratulations.
06:27How wonderful.
06:28Was it everything you hoped?
06:30Was he the ultimate Karen?
06:33Yes, he was.
06:34Did he have a hand in getting White Lotus hotel manager Armand killed?
06:38Well, it depends on how you look at it.
06:40But Shane Patton, immature and pig-headed as he was, did have a point.
06:44Are you finding everything to your liking?
06:46Actually, I think you put us in the wrong room.
06:48We were supposed to be in the honeymoon suite.
06:50Oh, there is no honeymoon suite.
06:53We're supposed to have a plunge pool on a private patio.
06:56Oh, well, that would be the pineapple suite, but I don't have a record of you booking that room, no.
07:05His mommy paid top dollar for a room, and he didn't get that room.
07:09And it can't be the first Armand messed up when booking a room.
07:12Shane's persistence and entitlement were incredibly annoying and at times cruel.
07:17But as much as it pains us to admit it, it all stemmed from a mix-up that genuinely was not his fault.
07:23Thank you for all the help.
07:25Of course.
07:26Number four, Sue Sylvester, Glee.
07:32She had a cruel streak and was responsible for more than her fair share of crying McKinley High students.
07:38Yes, her one-woman vendetta against the Glee Club was confusing and inconsistent.
07:43But it's her hatred of Mr. Schuster that makes a little more sense.
07:47You are a failed performer, Will.
07:49You weren't good enough to make it in the real world.
07:51You're not even good enough to run this stupid little club that nobody cares about.
07:55Mr. Shoe was not the angel he pretended to be.
07:58This is a man who led his students in performances of suggestive, downright inappropriate songs like Blurred Lines and On School Property No Less.
08:06Her crusade to get him fired was understandable.
08:19If anything, she should have been tossed out right behind him.
08:21You need to back your ass up to the fact that you, a married 37-year-old, just performed a song about coercive sexual advances as nine minors twerked alongside you down the hallways of a public high school.
08:33It's called the First Amendment, Sue.
08:35Number 3.
08:36Sandor Clegane, Game of Thrones.
08:39Many fantasy stories are about maintaining law, order, and justice in an unjust and chaotic world.
08:46Unfortunately, sometimes to survive, you have to get brutal.
08:49Brave.
08:50A dog doesn't need courage to chase off rats.
08:54Does it give you joy to scare people?
08:57No, it gives me joy to kill people.
09:00Sandor Clegane was one of Game of Thrones' most dangerous baddies.
09:04You have to earn a nickname like the Hound.
09:06Where other characters still hold on to what he considers outdated ideals, Clegane has been used and abused by the world.
09:13You won't hurt me.
09:22No, little bird, I won't hurt you.
09:25Ultimately, he gets some redemption.
09:27But even while he's at his worst, he makes some sense.
09:30The world isn't pretty.
09:32When there's even more evil people around, sometimes you need the people who are a little less evil to do the dirty work.
09:39You're the worst shit in the Seven Kingdoms!
09:43There's plenty worse than me.
09:46I just understand the way things are.
09:48How many stars they got to behead before you figure it out?
09:51Number 2.
09:52Agatha Harkness, Marvel Cinematic Universe
09:55It was Agatha all along, but she had her reasons.
09:59You have no idea how dangerous you are.
10:04You're supposed to be a myth, a being capable of spontaneous creation.
10:08Over the course of WandaVision, she goes from batty next-door neighbor to powerful villainess.
10:14She becomes hellbent on harnessing Wanda Maximoff's universe-bending powers for herself.
10:20But when it comes down to it, Agatha's use of dark magic really didn't do much.
10:24In fact, Agatha is right to be concerned about Wanda's all-powerful abilities.
10:29This is chaos magic, Wanda.
10:32And that makes you the Scarlet Witch.
10:37The Marvel movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proves that the Scarlet Witch's unchecked power leads to massive amounts of destruction.
10:45This world you made will always be broken.
10:52Just like you.

11:12Number 1. Chuck McGill
11:15Better Call Saul
11:16As with the series it spun off from, we tuned in every week to see a rascal get away with something.
11:22When that's the case, the characters who stand in opposition to the protagonist's own villainy often seem like the villains themselves.
11:30You're not a real lawyer.
11:33University of American Samoa, for Christ's sake?
11:36An online course?
11:37What a joke.
11:39Chuck McGill was annoying, to be sure.
11:41As the brother of Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, Chuck knows firsthand his sibling's true nature.
11:48A rule follower by nature, he has nothing but contempt for Jimmy's various cons.
11:53Was this man here making copies?
12:00It's like I said, I don't think so.
12:02Well, earlier you said that he was here. Now you're saying that he wasn't here. Which is it?
12:06His constant suspicion was proven true by the events of both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad?
12:12He'll never change. He'll never change. Ever since he was nine. Always the same. Couldn't keep his hands out of the cash drawer.
12:20But not our Jimmy. Couldn't be precious Jimmy. Stealing them blind. And he gets to be a lawyer? What a sick joke.
12:30Which TV villains do you think actually had some points? Let us know in the comments.
