00:00Bersatu's internal strife is turning attention toward PAS, with the political analysts noting

00:06that the Islamic party now faces growing pressure to assert itself as a credible multi-ethnic force

00:12beyond its northern and northeastern Malay heartlands. Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid said Bersatu's

00:18open warfare, triggered by one Saifu Wan Can's public attack on party secretary-general Azmin

00:23Ali, has exposed serious disunity and raised doubts about the Malay party's ability to lead

00:29the country. According to Fauzi, PAS must now appear more electable and multicultural,

00:34as Bersatu was once expected to moderate its image in more pluralistic states.

00:40Fauzi, however, warned PAS to avoid appearing overjoyed at Bersatu's troubles,

00:44saying voters would likely be turned off by triumphalism.

00:48Fauzi argued that PAS has a golden opportunity to recalibrate prikata national in an Islamic mold

00:54and show it can govern inclusively in a multiracial and multireligious Malaysia.

01:00Meanwhile, University Malaya's Taufik Jakob said PAS should seize the moment to lead PN,

01:05describing Bersatu's infighting as an embarrassment that erodes voter trust ahead

01:09of the Sabah State election and the next general election.

01:13Taufik added that unless Muhyiddin Yassin addresses the discord, Bersatu risks losing ground to PAS and

01:19UMNO, calling the party's public quarrels shameful for one that once led the federal government.
