Ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, sources indicate that the BJP and JDU are set to contest an almost equal share of the 205 seats allocated to NDA partners, though one party may slightly edge out the other in certain scenarios. The remaining 38 seats are expected to go to smaller allies, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLM). Reports suggest the BJP has offered 25 seats to LJP chief Chirag Paswan, seven to HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, and six to Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM.

00:00And we're bringing you a big Bihar NDA seat-sharing scoop on India Today.
00:06BJP and JDU may evenly split seats.
00:10India Today brings you the big scoop on the Bihar electoral battle.
00:15The BJP and JDU will be fighting on 205 seats
00:19and BJP-JDU will leave 38 seats for the smaller allies.
00:23Chirag's LJP has been offered 25 seats by the BJP
00:27while Manji's HAF may get 7 seats.
00:31RLSP, that is Kushwaha's party, may end up with 6 seats.
00:36Chirag Passmanu member has been pushing for select seats
00:39but at the moment, what we are telling you is about this seat-sharing scoop.
00:45And Rohit Singh is live with me on this story.
00:48Rohit, a big scoop on the seat-sharing numbers.
00:52He has 205 seats for the BJP and the JDU
00:59while the allies get a slice of 38.
01:03What more do we know?
01:04Anisha, see, there's a lot of hectic negotiations
01:11which is going on in Patna as well as in Delhi over the seat-sharing.
01:16And as far as NDA is concerned, we have seen in the last few days
01:19how Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the election in charge,
01:21has met Jitana Mahji Upendra Kushwaha.
01:24And as I speak right now, Dharmendra Pradhan is meeting Chirag Passman in Delhi
01:29discussing the seat-sharing issue.
01:31But what we are now learning is that BJP warns that the huge chunk of the 243 seats,
01:38that is almost 205 seats, should be fought by the largest alliance partners.
01:45That's the BJP and the Janta Dal United.
01:48Because BJP wants to send out a strong message
01:50that they don't want to ignore Nitesh Kumar
01:53and they are giving JDU also equal number of seats.
01:57So 205 is the number that we are learning
02:00that could be fought by both BJP and JDU together.
02:03And it could be like evenly balanced, 103 or 102, each side could fight.
02:08And after that, Chirag Passman is likely to be offered 25 seats,
02:137 seats to Jitana Mahji and 6 seats to Upendra Kushwaha.
02:17So that's the latest that we are getting from our sources
02:20in Patna and Delhi that this could possibly be the seat-sharing formula of the NDA.
02:27And that is why Dharmendra Pradhan is also right now meeting Chirag Passman,
02:31trying to convince him, take him on board.
02:34Because what we know that Chirag Passman is not happy with this formula.
02:37He wants at least 35 seats to fight.
02:41But this is what is right now on the table as far as NDA is concerned.
02:46Anisha.
02:46All right, Rohit Singh, thank you for that scoop.
02:50But let's look at what has been happening with this entire seat-sharing debate.
02:55All right.
03:01All right.
