00:00Hi guys, this is Gordon on Wired, tackling auto-complete.
00:06First question.
00:10Is Gordon Ramsay a Michelin star chef?
00:17I won my first star many years ago, and this year we celebrate 27 years at Royal Hustle Road
00:23and 25 years at a three star.
00:26Is Gordon Ramsay considered the best chef?
00:30In the world.
00:32That's absolute bull****.
00:34I don't think you can ever be the best, but you can be one of the best.
00:38Good question.
00:40Is Gordon Ramsay going vegan?
00:42Am I f***ed?
00:43I did go vegan once for an entire lunchtime, and it was interesting.
00:51It was very interesting.
00:52Is Gordon Ramsay good at football?
00:56I think he was.
00:58Football was an incredible release.
01:00There's a lot of synergy between running a kitchen and captaining a team.
01:04Who made Gordon Ramsay cry?
01:08This one always fascinates me.
01:10I didn't actually cry.
01:11I got upset with a situation because I f***ed up.
01:14And like in sports, like in kitchens, when you screw up, you get upset.
01:21But there's multiple people who made me cry.
01:23My kids make me cry.
01:24My mum makes me cry.
01:25My bulldog, when he s***s all over the carpet, makes me cry.
01:28Who inspired Gordon Ramsay to cook?
01:33The biggest inspiration at the beginning was my mum.
01:35Growing up and watching my mum handle three jobs.
01:38I would go and visit her at the restaurant on weekends and help her prep, peel all the
01:43onions, carrots, potatoes to help get her home a bit earlier.
01:47Who is Gordon Ramsay's favourite chef?
01:51It's like saying, who's your favourite child?
01:53Oh God, that's so hard.
01:55I'm going to say my favourite chef is a toss-up between Claire Smith, Angela Hartnett and Guy Savoie.
02:03Did Gordon Ramsay invent beef Wellington?
02:08Absolutely not.
02:09It was forgotten about.
02:10It was sort of almost like the Sleeping Beauty of dishes.
02:15So we revived it back in 2001 at Clarities.
02:17And ever since then, it has gone crazy.
02:20Did Gordon Ramsay jump out of a helicopter at multiple times?
02:24Repelled out of a helicopter, hung from a helicopter and jumped out of a helicopter.
02:29Can Gordon Ramsay handle spice?
02:33Of course I can.
02:34This palette is an educated palette that loves spice.
02:40Can Gordon Ramsay cook grilled cheese as well?
02:45This thing always comes back to bite me on the arse every year.
02:48Can he do a grilled cheese?
02:50Can he get the pool of cheese?
02:51Yes I can, finally.
02:53Being in New Zealand and up against it time-wise, I thought the cheese had melted but it hadn't.
02:59Now I can perfect a grilled cheese, I promise you.
03:02Here we go.
03:03Can Gordon Ramsay bake?
03:05Absolutely.
03:06Absolutely.
03:07I'll tell you why.
03:08My first job in Paris, I worked at the restaurant Guy Savoie in the middle of Paris in the 17th and I'm really small.
03:16And my first job was downstairs in the pastry.
03:18And then in London, before going to Paris, I also worked as a baker at Le Garoche.
03:24So yes, I can bake.
03:26Boom.
03:27Does Gordon Ramsay drink coffee?
03:33I love coffee.
03:34I love coffee.
03:35First thing in the morning, I'll start off the day after a session in the gym and I'll get a black coffee and a croissant.
03:40And then throughout the day, I'll have a flat white, potentially with oat milk or skim milk.
03:46Does Gordon Ramsay like pineapple on a pizza?
03:51No, I do not.
03:52I did my first Ironman in Hawaii and at the end of this finishing line, some incredible young chef had cooked me a pizza and I was about to take a bite of it and I spotted the pineapple.
04:03So I sort of, I dodged the pineapple and devoured the pizza.
04:08Good question.
04:09Does Gordon Ramsay ever use a microwave?
04:14Tilly recently just graduated from university, one of our daughters, and the microwave was a staple in this apartment.
04:22So I think they're good for reheating things.
04:25Couscous, for instance, is really good for 30 seconds to reheat in a microwave.
04:30But to sort of cook and eat from a microwave, no.
04:34But reheating, 100% yes.
04:37Does Gordon Ramsay call people doughnuts?
04:41People ask me that all the time.
04:43I call them doughnuts because they're clumsy.
04:45Have you ever tried eating a doughnut without licking your lips?
04:48It's a very clumsy thing to try and eat and devour.
04:51So yeah, I have called many people f*** doughnuts.
04:56Next, what does Gordon Ramsay think of the bear?
05:01The bear is incredible.
05:02Gives a proper insight to the nitty gritty, sort of f***y side to the industry.
05:08The pressure that these chefs face, but most importantly, the sort of, the level of determination that goes on in the kitchen.
05:14What are Gordon Ramsay's world records?
05:19That's a really good question.
05:21When we first started launching the F word, we used to come up with challenges that would inspire winning Guinness world records.
05:31I think I've lost quite a few of them now because clearly challenged.
05:35I don't know how many we still have.
05:39What are Gordon Ramsay's current shows?
05:43That is a tough one.
05:45Secret Service, Kitchen Nightmares, Masterchef, Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef Junior, Uncharted.
05:54And of course, the one that I'm most excited about, Knife Veg.
06:00Next, how Gordon Ramsay became famous.
06:06I didn't start cooking to become famous.
06:08I fell in love with it because it was a passion that I absolutely was obsessed getting to the very top.
06:13Spending three years in France and working with some phenomenal chefs really taught me how to perfect my craft.
06:18How Gordon Ramsay cuts an onion.
06:22Everyone thinks it's easy cutting onion.
06:25The secret is having a great sharp knife.
06:27I peel it once and keep it whole.
06:29I leave a little touch of the root on.
06:31Slice it in half.
06:32Chop, chop, chop, chop.
06:33One, two, three down.
06:35Hold the onion back together and then slice into a nice fine dice.
06:39Forget the word speed.
06:41When you start chopping things like onions and carrots, focus on the technique first.
06:46Get the techniques right first before you start getting faster.
06:49When you get too fast, that's when you cut yourself.
06:51So slow down.
06:52Any tips to avoid crying when cutting an onion?
06:55Rinse it under cold water.
06:57And that stops the acid bleeding from the back of the onion.
07:00I do get frustrated when I see people wearing f***ing goggles, swinging goggles and dive masks.
07:06Cutting an onion.
07:07No.
07:08How does Gordon Ramsay like his steak?
07:10I'm a big medium rare.
07:12I'm not a big fan of blue.
07:13I don't think you can really identify the flavour of the meat when it's blue.
07:17And the secret of cooking a great steak is letting it rest before you slice it.
07:20So mid-rare all day long.
07:22Love it.
07:24Right.
07:25What does Gordon Ramsay use to sharpen his knives?
07:34Some knives are incredibly delicate.
07:37They require the stone.
07:39And others just a straightforward steel.
07:42Nice and slowly.
07:44What culinary school did Gordon Ramsay go to?
07:48Yeah.
07:49So I enrolled in...
07:51It was a foundation course in catering.
07:53By the time I got into college, I was already sort of quite well advanced on the course
07:59because I spent two days a week at college and the other three days a week I spent at school.
08:04So that was a sort of like a test scheme that worked out very well.
08:09What's in Gordon Ramsay's...
08:13Lamb sauce.
08:15That's a tough one, that one.
08:16I go back to the moment when I was screaming and waiting for the fricking lamb sauce to come.
08:22If you slice the lamb as the main course, the thing you've got to serve at the same time is the sauce.
08:28The secret of any great lamb sauce is in the resting juices from the lamb.
08:34Whether it's a rump of lamb, a leg of lamb, or the most amazing shoulder.
08:39Thank you so much for watching.
08:40I hope you enjoyed those questions as much as I didn't.
08:43And thank you.
08:45God bless.
08:46Thank you very much.
