00:00Involved in politics since his youth,

00:02Sébastien Le Cornu has been a member of all successive Macronist government since 2017.

00:08He suggested the idea of the Great Debate in 2019

00:11for the government to bounce back after the Yellow Vests protest crisis.

00:15Le Cornu served as Minister for Local Authorities until 2020,

00:19then he became Minister for Overseas Territories,

00:22and finally Minister for the Armed Forces from 2022 to 2025,

00:26before moving on to the Prime Minister's office.

00:29He became France's fifth Prime Minister in under two years,

00:33taking over from François Bayrou on the 10th of September 2025.

00:36We will have to have a reset.

00:40The new Prime Minister conducted intense negotiations to form his government.

00:44The main challenge is staying in power and building a budget for 2026,

00:49which caused the fall of his predecessor's government.

00:52But Sébastien Le Cornu, who had promised a break with the past,

00:55resigned just hours after naming his cabinet.

01:00The composition of the government within the parties of the coalition has not been smooth,

01:04and has given rise to the reawakening of certain partisan tendencies.

01:09But we must always put country before party.

01:12We must listen to these activists, but always prioritise the French people.
