00:00Hello and welcome to another edition of Look Around London.
00:04The River Thames Cable Car, officially called the IFS Cloud Cable Car, offers a unique way
00:09to cross the river.
00:11Opened in 2012, this urban cable car stretches for just over a kilometre, linking the Greenwich
00:18Peninsula near the O2 with the Royal Docks via Xcel London.
00:24The journey takes around 10 minutes and gives panoramic views of London's skyline, from
00:29Canary Wharf to the Shard and on clear days even as far as Wembley Stadium.
00:35Originally built for the 2012 Olympic Games, the cable car is operated by Transport for
00:41London and carries both commuters and tourists every day.
00:46Each cabin glides 90 metres above the Thames, making it the highest observation point of
00:52the river.
