01:25nice every time thank you putting Graham to the test this week are some possessive poodles I haven't even

01:37bought you's in here a pair of shih tzus that are being right little shih tzus the minute they see

01:43each other it's all right straight back out both of you and a bolting basenji there he goes okay

01:51I see your problem so can the dog father keep her could be a long day this

01:57hold on to your cravats people he's a big boy ain't he look at that Graham's on his way to a dog

02:12father emergency I'm in the western suburbs of Sydney today and I'm here to see a posse of

02:21miniature poodles who are holding a man hostage in his own home let's go watch TV TV bachelor Joey

02:33lives inside a bubble of poodle love okay it's my turn now

02:37this one is the mother princess Lulu my little black one here is Valentino here's my little handsome

02:50man and this one here is Miss Prada good girl cute yeah yes innocent not even close

03:02these poodles are masters of psychological warfare what do you want scratchy scratchy is that what

03:09you want can I finish this first pat me scratch me give me attention kiss kiss lick lick lick lick

03:19lick that's always about them there's no me time there's always something now if you're thinking Joey

03:27brought this on himself yep yes you're absolutely right but Joey's poodle potion has really come back

03:36to bite him I can't relax in my own home at all no I can't even talk to people on the phone I can't watch TV

03:46what do you want they're just there in your face you turn left there you turn right there it's stressful

03:57move move get down get down it affects me in every aspect of my life relationships

04:11meeting people friendships

04:16family I mean no one comes over literally if something doesn't change Joey fears his captors

04:27will be his only companions I've cried a few times yeah I've cried a few times I

04:35I couldn't live without them but I'm lonely as well I am I'm really lonely come on rest time

04:46no I need Graham's help desperately like a lot of working dogs the poodles need quite a lot of mental

04:59stimulation and when they don't get that well they kind of find their own mischief often training

05:05three at the same time is difficult that's why we're sending in the big guns special agent Hall

05:14making contact in five four three two one

05:20is this normal is it this is how it is yeah time so if you stand up now and wander over there

05:49somewhere they'll just follow you yeah yeah there you go now they're going oh that's it Joey can't

05:56even get some air without the full security detail set they follow you everywhere so three dogs holding

06:08a man captive well yes kind of but only because they love him too much that's for sure I suppose it's a

06:13nice feeling in a way it is but I just want to be left alone a little bit and right just enjoy my own

06:19time and look at Lulu just glued to me yeah she isn't she she's very attached yeah yeah watch out

06:27Graham Prada's on the prowl for a new prisoner do you mind oh yeah yeah now you see that's what happens

06:35um to all my guests yeah some don't like it thanks she's loving you yeah it's a bit much frankly go

06:40down here go on go on it's impossible to sit and chat properly that's why no family or friends tend to

06:47visit they get stressed and they go look we're going they leave are you single then I'm single yeah yeah

06:52yeah no one wants to date me not with ease and it gets a bit lonely sometimes Graham's got a feeling

06:59it's not just Joey's love life that's being held to ransom I noticed the damage by the door on the way

07:05this house was immaculate before they came along when I leave or I'm they're waiting for me that's when

07:13they're bashing bashing bashing till I open the door well let's say you're about to leave now yeah so

07:18I'll just I'm going to the shop shop the what what I'm going to the shop shop the shop shop I'll repeat

07:24things twice usually I'm going to the shop shop okay I'll be back in a minute okay good girls

07:41as the fugitive makes his escape the poodles lose their noodles

07:49and welcome to a new episode of when poodles go feral please bring daddy back lucky for them

08:01Joey's got a serious case of Stockholm syndrome there's being close and there's been too close

08:10if you were talking about human relationship you would probably refer to it as a kind of toxic

08:15co-dependence feel guilty when I leave if you're worried all the time you're out yeah so therefore

08:22I don't go out anyway so how did how did this this collection of poodles come about so in the past I

08:28had a bit of depression okay and my friend kept saying to me what you really need is the dog like

08:33those times where I couldn't get out of bed but because of Lulu yeah you have no choice yes start

08:39over one dog great idea and then you just carried on going didn't you yeah that changed my life but

08:45it has committed me at home now Joey got Lulu to help him out with his depression but now that

08:54codependency is actually affecting his mental health I think Graham needs Joey's full focus on

09:01the problem but he can see this fluff spell won't be broken that easily how do you distract him for

09:0820 minutes oh the only way I can is by giving them we call it stick stick it's a dental it would be two

09:14words ago yes I have to say stick stick Joey's obviously a smart guy I think on one level he gets

09:21it but on another level there's a part of it that's sort of in denial there's a little stick stick my

09:27worry is when I tell him what needs to be done will he listen I don't know where's the bow stick stick

09:33good boy can he step up can he do this training without caving because frankly if he does cave

09:40we're back to square one coming up stay back stay back can Graham help Joey push back on his poodles no

09:50she's gonna power over mate the mum and daughter stuck in a shih tzu sandwich and a rare breed who's got

09:58the need for speed there he goes okay where is he

10:03settle down settle down Joey lives under permanent house arrest with poodles Lulu I'm watching TV Prada

10:17and Valentino hold on they live with him on him okay it's my turn now in his head hi there bye if he

10:25tries to leave that's when they really lay it on thick I'm gonna save the behavior when Joey's not

10:32around for another day because if we can't fix this in the house when dad's there I think we've got no

10:39chance when he walks out the door frankly so the dog father's got a simple plan and a roll of tape

10:45to rescue Joey from beneath the poodle pile on we're creating a bit of an exclusion zone this is our bit

10:53that's your bit if you're over there we let them know that we approve yeah but they can't come up

10:58here and force the issue okay well it will if you can be tough enough okay Prada and Valentino decided

11:05to take it easy underneath the couch but that's fine because they're not bothering Joey so let's

11:11concentrate on Lulu and let's see if the kids will follow her lead I think we keep it simple and just

11:18say yeah stay back you know how about that yeah I think that's a coincidence probably but that's the toad so to start we'll

11:28we'll physically have to just guide her back gently but firmly stay back stay back stay back

11:35stay back that's it good girl oh that's interesting she's going around the side look

11:42she's I'm going to try and do the cute puppy eyes thing I know she's doing it isn't she she's breaking

11:46my heart no she's not doing it look she's going to pour over me you have to be clear stay back stay

11:51back that's it good girl stay back Lulu's unleashing a weapons grade guilt trip Joey don't fall for it

12:03do you think she feels like I don't want her anymore or something she's got that look in her eye

12:07yeah but while you're thinking that she's pulled a fast one there you go stay back yeah but don't

12:15laugh and smile because the voice says stay back what the face says good girl this is the hardest thing

12:20for you well I'm always smiling at them it's time for this old softy to embrace some tough love or at

12:28least attempt a stern voice stay back look at that good girl good girl clever girl all right

12:37wow she has stopped do you still love me yeah I do now for Lulu to even think about crossing the line

12:45is well out of line if we carry on talking to each other let's see what happens now we'll pretend to

12:51invent a conversation right she's nudging she is she's trying her best yeah yeah that's what we're

12:59after not only has she walked off Lulu's having a lie down good girl the new what's lovely about it as

13:09well as she's reading our body language and the other two haven't got involved at all no why don't

13:14we pop into the kitchen come back and sit down again if they do start crossing the line we know what to do

13:20it'll go one way or the other won't it the poodles are having a sniff sniff for a stick stick

13:27so we'll go sit down but Joey's doubling down on his new favorite phrase stay back stay back

13:34there we go needless to say it Lulu's trying hardest stay back

13:40we talk to each other again she might walk off yeah she might well I think we'll just give it a

13:48minute so she's gone ha I think I gave it five seconds there mission successful agent Hall the

13:54hostage has been released oh Graham that's working I'm just overwhelmed by it it's great in a good

14:04way I'm yeah I am anyway you're overwhelmed by poodles this morning Joey's been great today he's

14:09really stepped up he knew there had to be a change but he didn't know how to make that change sometimes

14:17the hardest thing you do you know he's taking that first step to ask for help I'm feeling a lot

14:21more relaxed now about it it's it's peaceful they still love you just as much you still love them

14:27but there's rules attached I'm actually quite shocked sitting on that couch on my own the dogs

14:32just kind of vanished still hurts a little bit but it's for our own good we'll have family over

14:39friends over the love interest over yeah be able to chat properly I'm excited I do need to come back

14:50another time because we've still got this issue of what happens when Joey leaves the house that could

14:54be a different kettle of fish because training a dog when you're there is one thing training and when by

15:00definition you ain't present that's more difficult right I'll leave you to it for now Graham's leaving

15:07Joey to some freedom thank you don't worry we'll be back to let him out okay get back that's it great

15:20as much as we love our dogs I think we would all recognize that when the dogs are calling the shots

15:25in the household that's the wrong way around I mean excuse the fun but it's the tail wagging the dog

15:30in it people will make all sorts of adjustments to their life and and the house even and then there's

15:37this moment where you realize that your life is being controlled by a dictator who's a dog

15:44often I walk into a situation I think blimey how could you get to this but you know what it's just nice to

15:55be able to help people there's plenty more Aussies who need your help Graham so it's off to your next

16:04glorious location on the scenic south coast of New South Wales I'm in a place I've never been to today

16:11now a lovely spot not far from Jervis Bay so a real area of natural beauty this and there's a lot of serenity

16:20around here there's not much of that the house I'm going to Christine and Kirsten are as close as a

16:33mother and daughter can be and I'm not just talking about their near-identical names mum's my best

16:39friend she understands me she gets me she's my world blessed that's my relationship with my daughter I'm

16:47blessed these ladies share everything from their taste in clothes to the roof over their head and

16:53when it comes to dogs they both love themselves a Shih Tzu oh we like cuddles don't we her name is Georgie

17:02with an eye not a Y she's eight and she's my person I know she loves me and I madly love my dog

17:10Charlie's my person she's a Shih Tzu cross terrier she's 10 she brightens my day she is my beautiful

17:22baby girl I would be lost without her all this love should make for a happy home but when these dogs get

17:31together the Shih Tzu hits the fan it's instant absolutely instant the minute they see each other

17:43in the same space it's all they lock eyes and they just want to kill each other it is a shit fight

17:58what she did so now Georgie and Charlie live in solitary confinement with Christine acting as head of

18:09security the house is barricaded here and barricaded there got baby gates everywhere that side Charlie's

18:16side and Georgie's side another no-go zone my whole life is spent keeping the two dogs separated

18:24on the Georgie out for a wee the doors have all got to be locked there's everything's locked this

18:30whole house is locked up stay safe safe safe you can't relax because if you leave the door open

18:37yeah one home two factions zero hope it's gonna take the dog father to break these borders down

18:50back on your own again all I would love to do sit in that room there watch a teleprogram just having

18:56girly time with our little puppy dogs who just loved us too and loved each other and all was well

19:01with the world but we just can't because they would actually kill each other

19:04Christine and Kirsten are up Shih Tzu creek without a paddle

19:16their dogs Georgie and Charlie can't stand the sight of each other and is tearing mother and

19:24daughter apart all I would love to do sit in that room there watch a teleprogram just having girly time

19:30with our little puppy dogs but we just can't because they would actually kill each other

19:34come on no so the dog father's on his way with nothing but hope and a pocket full of liver treats

19:43two dogs fighting it's never easy it's one of those things that you kind of drag going to

19:48two females as well as when females take against each other it can get very nasty can end very badly

19:53I mean look at it does she look like a savage horrible little dog it's such a vicious little

20:02thing aren't you Shih Tzu means little lion so what we've got here are dogs that on the outside are

20:12quite cute but our little lions underneath it's too late to call a sick it's too late by far Graham time

20:20to summon up your courage sir and march into the lion's den hi hi hello hi hi I'm Kirsten nice to

20:32be here and this is Charlie hello Charlie come through and you can meet Georgie will do thank you

20:37morning hello oh hello I'm so excited to see gosh I hope you sort our girls out oh well I'll do my best

20:45see what's this then this is Georgie Georgie

20:50see your problem this is mad innit look at the eye her eyes are popping out of her head

21:01no beware the Shih Tzu stink eye Graham come on

21:07as soon as you pick her up she stops there's a clue in that but if you stop cuddling her like

21:16that what happens now oh he's good oh no oh blimey yeah I tell you what do you normally take her out

21:28there that's your part of the house yeah what I'm seeing is that mum Christine's dog Georgie is the

21:34one who very much starts the fight keeps it going as long as she can meanwhile Charlie looks a bit

21:39calmer the problem is it only takes one door to be left open doesn't it if it wasn't for us stopping

21:47it I think that Charlie would have the better of Georgie she would fight to the end if something

21:55horrible happens to her how would you feel she wouldn't cope I don't think I'd cope to be honest

22:00hmm look at her she's my baba is this causing tension between you it it does as soon as we start

22:12talking about how it all started that's when the tensions rises I know I've seen at least four or five

22:24goes where Georgie was the one who was being attacked we're now going to have a fight

22:29instigation is Georgie nine times out of ten there's conflicting views as to why this started

22:41however if we got any chance of getting these two dogs back on the right road mum and daughter are

22:45gonna have to work together as a team if they can't do that I think I'm sunk before I started

22:50but Graham's picked up on some interesting patterns and not just from Christine and Kirsten's decor

22:56Georgie on the face of it you'd be thinking well there's an aggressive dog really she's the one

23:02who's constantly looking for a brawl she's doing it because she's scared she's a nervous dog oh wow

23:10her eyes are coming out of her socket she's like get away get away get away get away from me get away

23:14from me get away from me I think she's scared to death half the time which takes me to the next thing

23:19so she kicks off and you're both doing the same thing all right in effect you're going yeah good

23:29girl I'm encouraging her is that what you're trying to say because you've got Charlie and you're like

23:35yeah you put them down again right they fight you pick them up you give them a cuddle again yeah

23:41you're encouraging so we need to turn it around right Graham's goal is to get this family of four

23:48sharing a sofa without any fighting so Charlie's here we're going to bring Georgie in if she kicks

23:55off you can say no you're going to take her outside you go out with her right and it's like well you're

24:00blowing it we're both out here now right if she then calms down you then go okay good girl we'll try

24:07again you bring her in meanwhile if she kicks off same rule applies she's going to have to go as well

24:14right okay but under no circumstances are you going to pick her up and give her a little cuddle if she's

24:20barking shall we give it a go let's give it a go right let's bring her in then yeah round one

24:26Charlie's in position Georgie's making her entrance okay Christine cue heart racing tension

24:33oh right straight back out oh both of you well I didn't see that coming round two and both dogs

24:45are eyeing each other off through the glass all right it's okay it's all right oh she stopped we've

24:55got something to work with now you say no again no no wait for it no good girl come on plot twist

25:10Charlie's got more bark you know than expected well welcome to the wonderful world of dogs just when

25:15you think you know exactly what's gonna happen you clearly don't it'll be a long day this the dog

25:29father's trying to sort out a pair of scrapping shih tzus at first it looked like Georgie was the

25:35problem but now Charlie's shown her true colors the fact is it doesn't really matter how this started

25:43and it doesn't really matter which dogs to blame Christine and Kirsten I've got to be a team so with

25:52the dogs and the owners all on notice it's back to the training okay Christine we'll try again the

25:58mission one family one couch no meltdowns anyone kicks off it's back to solitary right here we go

26:07you hear the difference now I don't know what to do now yeah I want to now it's good you're taking

26:32control of your dog your mom's doing the same with her dog and you've both been really clear no this

26:36is not acceptable or indeed yes this is better yeah and it's really clear in it they still haven't

26:41quite got Georgie into the room so Graham's got another trick up his cravat what you can do you can

26:48stand in front no and then you can do that again hey hey hey no we don't do that Christine

26:56wastes no time putting it into practice that's it pause no well done and the effect is almost instant

27:06oh my god good girl well we're in the same room no no like I said almost instant but with a bit more

27:17practice that's too far right oh that was very good good girl well you took control of that one

27:23Christine shall we get her a little bit nearer again all right no no further than that right

27:29well now look they see when you appeared she looked at you it's like oh right good girl

27:35this wouldn't have happened before no would it can I just sit down for a minute of course you can

27:42oh Georgie's progress has knocked Christine off her feet do you want to cuddle well I think she's

27:50done a cuddle no you she's in a big cuddle yeah go on then and just like that we're a whole couch

27:56cushion closer to our goal cookies so this would not happen normally right no no she's got a worry in

28:04the world sofa so good guys but Graham's got one more big box to tick I would like to see you both on

28:14the same couch before I leave today let's not mess about all right very good there we go no good

28:24grab a seat good good girl good girl good girl not gonna lie bit of an anti-climax but in the best way

28:35possible well this is a picture of contentment isn't it you can't believe it can you no I can't she's

28:40really totally relaxed thanks to Graham the ladies are back together and looking calmer than ever you

28:47did say it'd be lovely to sit on the couch together and just watch the telly yeah it would be I don't

28:52know if you've seen it but there's this really good dog show on channel 10 what a turnaround in a day

28:57mum and daughter see an eye to eye on this they know exactly what to do to see Georgie asleep on mum's

29:03love magic moment though no more baby gates and no more prisons no more segregation and hopefully lots

29:12more time with all the ladies enjoying their favorite show what a nice man what a nice man he's a good

29:19lovely man he's a real gentleman yeah the loveliest dog trainer in the biz has still got some work to do

29:29he's heading back up the coast for a rare opportunity I'm back in Sydney today and well

29:35you know it's a big place loads of people loads of dogs so naturally I've seen lots and lots of

29:40different breeds but today I'm gonna go see a breed I haven't seen here before a Basenji

29:46when Rupert and Cricket set out to get a dog they didn't want to settle for your average pup

29:56they wanted something a little more legendary and from the moment they met this gorgeous guy

30:06they knew they'd found their holy grail his name is Indiana bones but we call him Indy for short he's

30:15the cutest dog ever he's just the best yes we're together all day every day I can't imagine life

30:22without him he's a real integral part of our little sort of family situation true to his name Indy's

30:28always up for an outdoor adventure but if they let him off the lead now stay there he goes okay Indy

30:37just rides off into the sunset Indy at the dog park he is an escape artist he's always getting into

30:48trouble Indy hey I think the the treasure he's hunting is you know other dogs butts Indy he's

30:57just kind of going further and further where we can't see him he's out of sight until you know he's

31:01near the road or just completely we don't know where he is Rupert where is he oh god he's down by the rocks

31:09Rupert's convinced that Indy is eternally cursed this is a genetic trait of the breed of Basenji I feel

31:18like we've lost already if the dog father can't help Indy's action hero days are numbered and this

31:25is why we can't let him off the wheel I think that Graham has his work cut out for him and there is

31:33zero chance that he'll be able to conquer Indy so Basenji's come from Africa from Congo and they

31:41were hunters dogs which means they've got a really strong prey drive in other words they spot something

31:47they smell something they're after it and it's hard to get them back not to say impossible so I might

31:53have your work cut out here coming up Indy can Indy be reined in or has Graham finally met his temple

32:02of doom and Joey's poodles might be giving him some space but they're still going loony when he leaves

32:10Rupert and cricket feel like they're chasing their own tails their Basenji Indy has no regard for

32:28recall and it's led to some nail-biting cliffhangers oh god he's down by the rocks so Graham's on his way to

32:36try and tame this wild adventurer I've asked this Basenji's owners to make me at a park that I know is

32:43secure because I just don't want to take any risks all right Indy you're gonna be a good dog or a bad dog

32:51right if you let him off all right Indy as Graham makes his grand entrance Indy makes another quick getaway

33:03Indy Indy Indy Indy come come on in so that'll be Indy that is it that will be a brown spot off in the distance

33:17Indy yes I see your problem if I go to him he'll run from me probably yeah go on I see that

33:25yeah yeah I could see exactly okay that's why I have a send you you don't know they're not famous for

33:36being trainable well this is the thing like we have subsequently found out number 78 yes on the list of

33:4379 yes of dogs by trainability with 79 being the least Afghan hound by the way don't get one of those

33:50either I'd say they've already got their hands full but they don't and that's the problem things have

33:57you tried to get him back there I discovered roast chicken okay the old bachelor's handbag I was carrying

34:04roast chicken for myself one day and let him off and he was right by my side yeah good boy then I started

34:12doing that um that would be part of our walk but uh walking around is a little bit embarrassing the

34:18bachelor's handbag good boy I love the fact that an American and a Brit we're in Australia talking

34:25about the most Australian thing the bachelor's handbag right I mean we can afford to kind of have a laugh

34:31about it here but yeah there is clearly a very serious side to this isn't there when he takes off

34:36it's he could be in the road within seconds right before you blink an eye which has happened

34:40unfortunately really we need to fix this don't we but if Graham's gonna fix Indy Indy Indy come here

34:48nothing hello someone's gonna have to catch him first

34:53list Indy here he comes yeah go Indy Indy Indy oh off he goes oh yeah there you go

35:05hello mate you're all right yeah Graham meet Indiana Bones Indiana Bones how can I stay angry at that

35:15faith no I know he's lovely isn't he there's a voice in my head saying good look with that mate

35:23we definitely think Graham has his hands full it's gonna be a massive test for his abilities I think

35:30Indy luckily Graham loves a challenge and the dog father's not here to horse around

35:37I've decided to bring the guys here to a horse dressing yard because it's a safe environment

35:43and yet it's full of distractions I think for Indy being off lead is great fun he gets people to

35:51chase him but it's a big game for Indy so I think we've got to play a game we've got to make it fun

35:56we've got to get him to chase us not us chase him to play this game they'll need one of Graham's

36:03favourite tools and one of Indy's favourite treasures I've got a long line I've also got the classic

36:10bachelor's handbag yes but I'm going to put that away and then little bits of chicken are going to

36:14reappear when he's earned it I'm going to start running backwards he'll chase me because he knows

36:18I've got chicken yes so he runs to catch me as he's running I got Indy come he's like oh new game

36:26of chase right yeah yeah if I show him what I've got hey excuse me Indy come yeah so I chase you get

36:33chicken yeah that's a game I'll play oh I like that game the dog father is betting that Indy will

36:39choose the chicken chasing game over being chased himself yay good boy it's time for cricket to take

36:47the wicket Indy Indy come okay we're not there yet but Indy's not playing ball so cricket has a few more

36:57cracks at it okay Indy come lovely Indy come there he's got it look Indy come oh yeah as soon as he heard

37:07you go come he's like oh right I'll do that with a fresh dip into the bachelor's handbag Rupert's up

37:13so if you were to call him try calling him now Indy come oh brilliant Indy come oh look at you go

37:21Graham's ready to take this game to the next level final test now this time I'm going to take him

37:26off later you ready oh full stakes gambling here we go three two one off you go

37:32Indy come oh wow good boy winner winner chicken dinner Indy come fantastic look at that good chase

37:44well that was good Indy come oh good boy that's it wow look at this Indy come there you go good boy

37:55and you know what that was for no reward there was no chicken that's all yeah wow okay sooner or

38:01later you'll get to a point where it doesn't have to be chicken every single time that was great fun

38:05I didn't think we'd get that far with the lead off necessarily but we did Graham's game has helped

38:10tame the untameable turning this rebellious runaway into a loyal sidekick well done well done yes

38:18look at you listening I think that's a happy ending to the day we've got a really happy dog

38:22because he's discovered that he loves chasing people the game that Indy was playing this morning

38:28chase me chase me he was having great fun but he didn't realize that was a dangerous game

38:33the game he's playing this afternoon I chase you it's just as much fun if not more

38:38without the dangers he'll never know that but his mom and dad do where I was a complete skeptic 24 hours

38:46ago right I think I can see a pathway where he will be able to be let off the lead and he will be able

38:52to have all the fun in the dog park and we won't have to panic about yeah him getting hit by a car

39:20there's still the issue of Joey and the poodle posse to deal with remember him three poodles no

39:28boundaries a house that was more like a hostage situation Graham's taught the whole family to

39:34respect a few boundaries stay back good girl but Joey's departure still triggers full poodle pandemonium

39:44it's a case of dogs being so connected to their human that they almost feel as though they can't

39:49exist without him clearly that's got to change

39:52once upon a time Joey was held hostage by a high maintenance poodle triad stay back look at that

40:07thanks to Graham the fluff handcuff that was Lulu Prada and Valentino has been released it's been fantastic

40:16I've had a few visitors come around now they were so shocked they're like what's wrong with your dogs

40:22it's just so much more relaxing the couch may be calm but the drama's not over yet

40:29there's another problem perhaps a bigger one which is when he leaves

40:33settle down he's going to the shop shop bye

40:40they were crying and whining and scratching at the door even when I was in the room

40:48this isn't one of those things where you could just wave a magic wand and the dogs changed completely

40:53in a day we can get Joey on the right track and then if he keeps practicing I think it'll make a big

40:59difference for him stay back stay back good girls say hello welcome back this is impressive oh yeah

41:17give you a technique that will keep them a lot calmer when you're leaving we'll leave if they're

41:24barking we don't step back in when they calm down that's when you go all right come back in

41:29goodbye good girls yeah so we're rewarding being calm when dad leaves okay and the reward is you

41:36coming back it's the biggest reward in the world for them this training is all about timing so graham's

41:42getting joey's place rigged for success i want to know what the dogs are up to behind that closed door

41:47so i've got a couple of little cameras that i'm going to set up and we can watch what they're doing

41:52if you do what you normally do as you're about to go say your normal thing and and we'll go okay

41:59all right lulu about prada i gotta go shop shop i gotta go shop shop i see you later okay bye shop shop

42:06shop shop shop oh they're barking barely down the driveway and the poodles are sounding the alarm joey has

42:15left the building there's a howling from here they're all yeah yeah barking ignored the trio tries a new

42:25tack for maximum guilt lulu's done with being subtle it's time to take a pause on approach how's that

42:36make you feel you want to go back there i do if you go back now though they think that brings dad back

42:43yeah they win so we've just got to ride the storm after a few more minutes the poodles power down

42:52they've walked away from the door as well right then come on let's go back back i think that was a

42:57bit better than the dogs are at their worst but we've got a long way to go hello you lot hey babies

43:04hello we're back we're back one thing i've noticed is that joey says shop shop because he's popping down

43:11the shop and that just winds the dogs up so i think we're going out again don't say the words we'll just

43:17we'll just go off we go this is a different vibe lulu's swap barking for brooding oh look at her

43:29yeah bless she's still trying she's listening out the window now she's got away again that's already

43:37a lot calmer than than before yeah 100 percent val's the one that goes off like a firecracker yeah

43:44now he's just chilled yeah there's absolutely no howling at all graham can see they're finally

43:51learning to let joey go look at that see look how calm they are it's lovely it's nice that right

43:59come on all good things come to those who wait and for these three joey is the jackpot

44:06here we go the dogs have got it now they're a lot calmer dad goes dad comes back dad only comes

44:26back when you're quiet and i think they know now that if dad needs a bit of space that's fine he

44:31still loves you yeah he's a good girl and good boy i'm so proud of you so proud of you well in

44:38credit to you the reason they're like extraordinarily calm i think is all the work you've done

45:47over in sydney's east excitable indy is hooked on a new type of adventure

46:01since we had graham we've actually been working quite hard i think doing this sort of training with

46:06the long lead good boy there's a substantial improvement with indy just in terms of actually

46:13just acknowledging us good dog i'd say 95 of the time he's coming to us come good boy for graham just

46:24like i said well done yes i think he proves me wrong i was pretty convinced that indy had your number

46:30but it actually turned out that uh you've really done something quite significant for us so thanks

46:37very well done yeah thanks thanks a lot graham i i knew you could do it rupert's the one that had

46:42the doubts i knew you'd fix him it was a good day today schmoo and back at joey's place the negotiations

46:51are still ongoing stay back but a peaceful coexistence is near get a lot of time to myself now a lot more

47:00peaceful time and when i do leave the house the dogs still tend to get a little bit rowdy

47:08but it's a lot less than what it was in the past i can go out and not stress too much about them

47:13anymore i'm very happy with it i'm really pleased next time on dogs behaving very badly it's only a

47:20beer a german shepherd who's declared war on happy hour double trouble these spaniels throw a tantrum

47:29when their dads dash for the door not working this is it and a walk on the wild side with this german

47:37pointer howling screaming she's bonkers
