00:01How did you get here?
00:03Come and have a go if you think you're fine!
00:05All my enemies!
00:07What are you?
00:08Disclose of him!
00:09He's my middle name!
00:11There they are!
00:12Fine, don't rats!
00:13Yes, you're a spider!
00:14You won't mind if I'll get the bubbles going in, will ya?
00:17Oh, you're going to bed for that,
00:19baby little chocolate croissant!
00:24We're very fortunate on Flushed Away,
00:25because we were able to pull together a terrific cast
00:27led by Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet and Ian McKellen
00:30and then we've got a great supporting cast of comedians,
00:33Bill Nighy and Andy Serkis and Shane Ritchie
00:36and Lefrague is played by Jean Renaud.
00:38Well, c'est la vie!
00:47I had a call about Flushed Away
00:50and I was told that it was the Aardman group
00:52and the group that had created Wallace and Gromit.
00:55Roddy is a pampered pet.
00:57He happens to live in a very beautiful London swanky home.
01:02When the cat's away, the mice will play!
01:07Hugh Jackman, he's just so wonderfully warm and charming
01:10and he brings that kind of warmth and that charm to Roddy.
01:13He's also a very funny guy.
01:15It was hard a word for him, I thought it was going to be.
01:18It's very exact because as an actor you get used to using your eyes,
01:22your face, your expressions
01:24and even though your expressions are duplicated,
01:27you have to get so much over with your voice.
01:30How did you get here?
01:31And I really enjoy that.
01:32I have got to get home.
01:34The captain of the Jammie Dodger might be able to help you.
01:37Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude, Mr. Captain Skipper thingy.
01:41Hey, that's Miss Captain Skipper thingy to you.
01:45Rita, who is voiced by Kate Winslet, who is so fantastic in this.
01:49She's street smart, she's savvy.
01:51There's a paper clip in my back pocket.
01:52See if you can get it.
01:53In the pocket, in the pocket.
01:55Rita is an absolutely fantastic role model.
01:58She dresses brilliantly.
01:59She's completely cool.
02:00She has very interesting usage of belts,
02:03wonderful Union Jack pants, excellent boots,
02:06sturdy, firm, solid, nice little sweater,
02:09ties her up in a groovy little ponytail
02:11and more importantly, she's a nice person.
02:14Cool.
02:15And she's strong-willed and she's feisty
02:17and she sticks up for herself
02:19and I think those things are very important.
02:21You're not entirely the useless, whiny,
02:24stuck-up, pompous, big girl's blouse I thought you were.
02:28Am I anything like Rita?
02:30You know what?
02:31Yes, I am.
02:32And I think every girl should be.
02:34I'm tough, I'm adventurous,
02:36I'm exciting and incredibly interesting
02:40and yeah, you know, I try to be as strong as I can.
02:44Absolutely.
02:45I think it's a very important quality for us girls to have.
02:49Hello, Rita.
02:52Hello, handsome.
02:53We have the best villain.
02:54We have Sir Ian McKellen.
02:56You know, who is this magnificent, you know,
02:59like knight of the English stage.
03:02But he plays just this wonderfully over-the-top villain.
03:06Dispose of them.
03:08He is the controller of all things, the lord of the sewers.
03:13Oh, he would like to think.
03:14He's a mad man!
03:15Run away!
03:16He has the biggest mouth I've ever seen.
03:18He's all mouth and goiter.
03:21You can't use your physical attributes.
03:24You have no body.
03:25You have no face.
03:26You have no gesture.
03:27Forget!
03:28The ruby!
03:29It's the master cable that I want.
03:31You've only got the voice and you have to put it all into the voice.
03:34Well, that's a wonderful, demanding exercise.
03:37I stand.
03:38I stand blue!
03:39Bonjour!
03:40Bonjour!
03:41Bonjour!
03:42Bonjour!
03:43Bonjour!
03:44Bonjour!
03:45Bonjour!
03:46The toad calls on his evil French cousin, the frog, voiced by Jean Reno.
03:51Conger!
03:52So you called the frog.
03:54He's gonna do the bad work for you.
03:56No, you're going to pay for that, my little chocolate croissant!
04:01He has a set of French froggy henchmen who help him accomplish his evil deeds.
04:11He's an archetype of a bad guy, more than a French archetype.
04:15Like the relationship with the girls.
04:17I like a woman with a little fire.
04:21But he's also an archetype of a smooth bad guy.
04:25I like that.
04:26You find my pain funny?
04:29I find everyone's pain funny but my own.
04:32I'm French.
04:33Are we going to do it the easy way?
04:36Or the hard way?
04:38Oh, I think we should do it the easy way, don't you Spike?
04:41Spike, voiced by Andy Serkis.
04:43And Spike's like this kind of little guy, and he's only about 16 years old.
04:46And it's his first job as a bad guy.
04:48And he tries really hard to be really mean and really, really cold-blooded.
04:53I suppose I was attracted to Spike because he's such a loser.
04:58It's time to bring out the persuader.
05:04He's absolutely lethal, or believes he is so good.
05:07Actually, he's soft as anything and terrified.
05:09Hey man, don't wear mittens!
05:11Take them off!
05:12You're embarrassing me!
05:13Well, it's alright for you.
05:14You've got a little hand.
05:15Well, they might be a little bit small, but these are little weapons!
05:19His partner's called YT, who's this big albino ex-lab rat.
05:23Find a rat.
05:24You've got to think like a rat.
05:27He's voiced by Bill Nye.
05:28He's just incredible, you know.
05:30He's so at the top of his game.
05:33Spike is small, sharp, and vicious.
05:38And Whitey is big, and lumbering, and slow.
05:42Target at 12 o'clock!
05:45Oh, come on!
05:47Spike and Whitey, yes, they are misfits.
05:51But they're very, very funny characters.
05:54Danger is my middle name.
05:56I thought it was Leslie.
05:58Throughout the whole film, I think they barely do anything bad at all.
06:01And they always end up in trouble themselves.
06:06Oh dear.
06:15Whoa!
06:17They do nuts!
06:19Repeat nuts!
06:20Have food like this in the sewer!
06:21Well, Sid's this kind of like crazy hooligan.
06:23You know, he likes eating a lot.
06:24He's kind of messy.
06:25Great fun.
06:26Voiced by Shane Ritchie.
06:27It's incredible, you know.
06:28Amazing energy.
06:29Brings to the par.
06:30My character is a slightly overweight, quiffed up rat.
06:35How did you get here?
06:36I don't know!
06:37One minute, I'm in the pub.
06:39Next thing you know, whoosh!
06:41It's a basketball domain.
06:42Off I go, shooting up the pipes.
06:45And, well, here I am.
06:47Sid spent all his life in the sewer, and all of a sudden he turns up to this posh, plush house.
06:52And, basically, Sid's out the other half.
06:54This place is great!
06:55I'm staying here forever!
06:58Funny enough, when they told me I was only playing the part, I had no idea what he looked like.
07:03And then when they showed me, I went, oh, he's just a little bit too close to me.
07:07Yeah.
07:08And I didn't realise, it was only after a while, I was looking at it and thinking, what's he wearing a t-shirt?
07:12It turns out it's a pair of underpants.
07:14So, basically, that's Sid.
07:15And if anybody's unfortunate enough to come round my house and see me first thing in the morning, that's very similar.
07:24It's going over!
07:26I'm doing something!
07:31When Roddy first lands underground, the first character he bumps into is a slug.
07:36And it terrifies him, so he screams.
07:38And it screams back.
07:41And he screams, and it screams back.
07:44And then the slug runs away.
07:47But, of course, being a slug, extremely slowly.
07:55And this joke went down very well.
07:57And then, as we went on, we started finding lots of other places where they could go.
08:01They started to sing.
08:02Poor, poor Roddy, flush down his old body.
08:07You would never think that a slug could be cute, but I think our slugs are really, really rather cute.
08:13High five!
08:14No!
08:17No!
08:21Aloha!
08:22Right across!
08:24Đż
