00:00Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering attending the upcoming ASEAN summit,
00:06but as of now, only the country's deputy prime minister has been confirmed to represent Russia.
00:12Prime Minister Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim said Putin had earlier expressed interest in attending the
00:17summit during their recent meeting in Beijing, but no final confirmation has been made.
00:23The 47th ASEAN summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur from October 26 to 28,
00:30with participation of leaders from the 10 ASEAN member states,
00:34as well as key dialogue partners including the US, China, Japan and India.
00:39Anwar also teased his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump.
00:43He said the talks will be an opportunity to strengthen Malaysia-US relations,
00:48particularly in trade and investment, while addressing global issues,
00:52including the Gaza conflict and regional peace efforts.
00:55He stressed that Malaysia's engagement with Washington remained strong despite occasional policy differences.
